...Nero dragged her to the Ironworks because she was being dumb about her skill with magitek didn't he. XD
"...Good, cause I worked really hard recoding and tweaking him so things worked perfect." Siv slowly breathed, shyly rubbing her arm. "And I let Steve pick me up already. He's very good at picking people of all sizes up. If he can't do that how can he help Mama Cherish with Uncle Thancred? Be reasonable -- I mean, I know you needed help but so does Mama and uncle Thancred is very wiggly, but he was a really big help." Siv nodded. She was proud of the extra she'd contributed to Steve -- very proud she'd asked her sister's friends, as well.
"This was just Steve's BABYSITTING testing Dad. He also helped Urianger, Miss Tataru, and others in a wide variety oif tasks. He's completely -- I mean completely -- tested. Industrial work and private. He's passed and what he struggled in I hammered at to get right., I just wanna make sure credit for Stevie is placed appropriately. But if you wanna give miss Jessie
something Daddy, I have that."
And Siv reached, pulling out a sizeable group of papers and workbooks, handing them to her adopted father with nothing less than true pride.
"Use
this version.I copied everything about Steve minus his actual personality, noted a suggested group of AI 'personality types' and some military use options more agreeable to Ul'Dah, Limsa, and Gridania specifically -- for example the Gridanian version is far more delicate at construction and works WITH people more intimately due to the agreements people make with the elementals, the peace with the Sylphs, and so forth." Siv motioned then, getting a spark.
"The Gridanian one is operating more like my hand than a claw. The Limsan one is designed to suit the ocean region so they last longer, and can be useful for unloading boats or combat, and the Ul'Dahn ones..."
She eyed those notes.
"Well, it's more profitable to keep it on hand working with merchants than to sell, unless a mammet-sized claw was of interest so there's notes in there... I tried avoiding using then to replace Spoken workers, onlyto help. And there's no Ishgardian variant yet. Ishgard's too crowded so I'm working on a much smaller prototype for around the home they may like..."
Siv then motioned excitedly.
"So I was worried. I want Steve to stay special in how universally useful he is, and in how he's grown. He's SENSITIVE!"
Finally, Siv looked utterly proud, beaming to her father.
"So, I want to see you make a good impression that's why I gave you my notes. I mean, you know everything goes by Cid, so you gotta play to his preferences." Than Siv tapped her head.
"Prove to Cid he still needs you, Dad. Then you can start making products with less of his bossing around to deal with." Siv beamed, then lit up, pulling a bag of gil out and handing it to the man proudly.
"Oh, and I got paid for my last work stint for the Adventurer's Guild, Dad." The change in tone was reflective of how aware Siv was the family was trying to get work. While she didn't think where Nero hoped, she did in... Her way, disjointed as it was. Grounding was hard sometimes, something she never told her father, and the girl stuck it in his pocket happily.
"You know, the one people weren't willing to touch? Yeah I tolerated Lolorito a few weeks on security and he paid alright for it for an Ul Dahn, so hey, they're still worth picking up jobs from.... Even the distasteful ones. I gotta do my part, right Dad?"
She was absolutely proud of herself. Work meant gil, and projects meant her father would bring in ghil reliably -- and great ones meant he could take over a reliable check quickly. Besides, Siv didn't think he'd mind her keeping at adventuring -- she was a valuable asset in security with her military training as a regular with the strength to back it, as well as experience -- and it was something she felt somewhat reliable at. She didn't dare tell her father she didn't think she was smart enough for the Ironworks though -- she didn't want him angry with her. Upsetting her father... That was as painful as most children seeing their mother cry to Siv. He'd given her everything and she wanted to make him proud.
"That reminds me," Siv's thoughts were interrupted by one in particular, a frown forming on her face as she motioned.
"While you've looked for Omega, the Alliance is preparing for a war with the Empire on the Gyr Abanian borders." The woman sighed, looking down in concern. "So they need hands familiar with Castra to handle Oriens. I heard they've asked the Ironworks." Siv sighed, then motiond slowly.
"Do youthink... Do you thinkI should offer the leaders my ability as a former soldier?I was a regular so they'd know I can follow orders, an' I can use any of the magitek they've seized... So it's not wasted or exploited 'gainst them. I mean. Someone';s gotta. But uhm."
Siv then fidgeted.
"I just... Wanted your opinion.... Cause I wanna help people."
