Since the beginning of time, everything has stemmed from the same origin. Theories, scientific fact, religious skeptics - all believing they have found the answer to life. In the hands of the Angels the truth remains pure and protected. The Stone of Helios remains guarded for eternity by these sacred creatures, passed down through their ageless generations, a perfect balance of light and dark remains intact.
As life expands through the universe, a group of “Enlightened” individuals have come together from every race with one common goal: protect the Angels and their creation from those who may wish to destroy the stone along with the last of their kind. A millennium passes without much conflict, but this peace soon breaks as an Enlightened elder and his followers question the Angel’s intentions.
“Why keep the stone hidden away? Why not allow the Enlightened to protect it?” - After all, they had protected the Angels without question till now. The remaining Elders took much offense to these questions, never second guessing the Angels integrity or intentions with the Helios Stone.
To cleanse their minds and reflect on where his leadership went wrong, Borak and his followers were sent away to the darkest corner of the universe, but over time they’d grown cold, dark, and deformed. They became monsters, large and scaled like dragons but upright like a bear on its hind legs.
A group of Enlightened were sent to free them of this cleans, only to find these monsters in their place. The now evil beings killed all in their path. The relatives of these tortured Enlightened became the first Arch Angels - or rather those who give their loyalty to doing what's right, pure, and just by fighting with a vengeance and for the blood of all that is evil.
The exiled Enlightened soon became known as the “Boraks”, their leader taking rank as their “Emperor” as they searched the universe for the Angel’s hiding place. Vowing to destroy every planet harboring the Protector with a slow death by darkening the atmosphere of the planet so life would shrivel up from lack of light, air and drown slowly in the remaining darkness.
Unknown to them, the stone is located on a star in the center of the universe protected by what is thought to be the "single" purest Angel soul. Shortly after the protector is sent to Earth, rumors of her death spread like wildfire amongst her kind. Unannounced to the Enlightened and the Angels, her twin vanishes - along with all remaining hope...
RACES
Angels - A beautiful race of purity yet full of mystery. An angelic glow radiates from their bodies as beautiful wings spring from their back. Angel's are a species struggling with extinction. (The Angel's are the creators and protectors of the Helios Stone.)
Enlightened - An alliance of races from throughout the galaxy who've sworn their lives to protect the Angel's and the Stone. They practice restraint from violence, only to attack if something or someone physically threatens them, another life form, an Angel or the Stone. The majority of their magic is healing, protection and non-lethal.
Arch Angels - Once a part of the Enlightened, they are now an alliance of their own. Their main focus is to kill the Boraks. Their second focus is to protect any life forms being threatened by Boraks. (They do NOT have wings unless of Angel decent. They only call themselves "Angels" - which irritates the Angel race - because the first couple were in fact Angels but now most Arch Angels are just angry and revenge filled.)
Boraks - Once part of the Enlightened but became outcasts for questioning the Angels and their fellow Enlightened. Now they pursue the Protectors in hopes of ruling the universe.

Kira sat out watching the stars vanish one by one as the sky turned from indigo to baby blue with orange and yellow streaks. She could hear her mom making tea inside their home, a small yet spacious hut in a random oasis in the middle of the Sahara dessert. A circle of dessert greens gave a false sense of security as Kira made her way around it, occasionally looking toward the center, then back out over the sand dunes and up toward space.
"Kira, your tea's ready." Kora's voice echoed but the plants surrounding their hiding place kept it from going to far. Kira sighed, she was tired, but it was more of an emotional and mental exhaust. Being half Angel, she only needed so much sleep for physical purposes.
"Can you bring it out to me?" Kira asked, noticing a shooting star that didn't seem right. As it descended into the atmosphere, Kira realized it wasn't a shooting star let alone a meteorite or any organic piece of cosmic junk. It was a Borak ship. "Forget the tea, they found us." Kira spoke in a raised tone as a second ship followed suit. "Mom... Maybe you should go to the caves." She suggested as Kora came out of the hut, dressed head to toe in tan cloth. They both looked up at the sky.
"Is that smoke?" Kora asked Kira.

One of the ships was coming down to earth in flames. It was slowly exploding on the inside. With no shielding against its high speed entry it was being torn apart. Pieces of the ship were being scattered across the desert sands. It crashed into the earth and sent a mountain of sand flying out like waves in the ocean. A few escape pods landed nearby and Borak stepped out of them. They approached the ship with weapons ready.
"Kill on sight" a soldier said "If the beast is still alive"
"That monster cant escape" another said
Even though they came from the pods they were beaten up pretty badly. Their scales were scratched and burned. Several of them were missing body parts.
Something in the wreckage began to move. A shadow came up from beneath a sheet of metal. It launched the metal at the Borak and killed several of them instantly. Then it jumped and took off the head of a Borak as it landed. The others were so pinned with fear that they just stared at the rotten form before them.
The black shadow was actually a large cat creature. It stood upright like a person and was easily seven feet tall. Her mouth was open in a nasty snarl showing off her teeth. Part of her lip was damaged on the side showing all of one of her fangs. Her body was emaciated, her ribs showing clearly. Her dark fur was matted with blood and there were patches missing.
She let out a screeching roar and then fire spouted from her hands incinerating several more soldiers. Her eyes were a deep purple that glowed with an unhinged rage.

"Come with me to the caves!" Kora begged Kira as her wings spread open, almost hitting her mother as she reached out for her. They looked at each other as a high pitch roar echoed.
"That wasn't a Borak." Kira realized as her wings flapped. "I need to help it," and in an instant she was up in the air. Kora shouted after her but the wind toned out her words.
As Kira flew over the wave of sand created by the Borak ship's arrival, she second guessed her choice to help. There were more soldiers than expected. They began to circle a cat creature, which looked to be in bad shape. Hovering above the cat creature, Kira took out her staff. With a quick shake it glowed and formed into a bow, a bag of energetic arrows appeared on her back. Quickly, she placed an arrow against her staff-bow, aimed, exhaled, and released it. Like lightning it flew and struck the Borak closest to the cat.
The other Boraks looked up at Kira, which gave the cat a chance to attack or run as Kira prepared another arrow.

As the arrow struck the cat wasted no time in launching herself forward. She slashed her claws across one Boraks throat and then quickly turned to claw open the chest of another. She roared again and the wind picked up violently. It blew several of them backwards while others were sent skyward in a wind tunnel of sand.
A soldier managed to stab her in the side from behind. The cat grabbed the spear and yanked him forward. She leaped up into the air and then came crashing down on him breaking his back. Her claws dug deep into his spine.
The area where she was standing exploded and sent her flying backwards. She rolled a few times in the sand and then shakily stood back up. The Borak soldiers threw more grenades to try and keep her away from them.

Kira continued to rain arrows down on the Borak soldiers. As the first explosion of sand from a grenade settled, she watched as more grenades flew in slow motion through the air toward the wounded cat. Giving her bow a quick shake it shrank back to it's original staff form and the arrows on her back vanished as well. In a second she was descending toward the cat. She landed on the sand and purposefully backed up against the cat.
Standing tall, Kira raised the staff high in the air before planting it firmly in the sand as it exploded with a blinding glow. Grenades flew toward them and exploded but the explosions stopped inches from their bodies.

The grenades stopped exploding against the barrier Kira created in front of them. The cat shoved past her and blindly charged forward. The last of the soldiers drew their swords and tried to cut her down. She was in between two of them. She threw her hands out to her sides palms forward. The scales on their chests collapsed inward crushed by a powerful force that they couldn't see. They collapsed to the ground. She grabbed one of their swords and cut their heads off. The remaining soldier had gotten some distance away and shot her in the back with two arrows. She hissed and turned to go after him but he fell dead suddenly. With no one left to fight the large cat pulled the arrows free and crushed them into the sand. She walked away toward the ship and sat in its shadow.

Kira watched as the beast demolished the last of the soldiers. She was a worthy fighter but seemed blinded by blinding vengeance. Obviously an Arch Angel. Kira questioned the stigma her people had against that group of warriors. She obviously had no intention of hurting Kira or any other life - just Boraks. Something was familiar about her, the creatures eyes seemed to have the same tone as her childhood panther - or so she thought it was a panther.
As the cat sat, licking it's wounds, Kira wondered if it would care if she healed it - that's the least she could do for unknowingly protecting her. As she realized the ship had been smoking as it entered earth, Kira sighed, realizing it was time she and Kora move. What if they'd been found out?
Looking torward the dune that the oasis his behind, Kira spotted a more elaborately dressed Borak sliding down the sand with Kora in tow. "Does this human belong to either of you?" It's voice boomed over the sand as Kira's heart sank. "Give me the Helios stone or she dies!"
"I'm a single star in the universe!" Kora shouted, hinting that her life meant nothing and to run. Kira glanced over her shoulder toward the cat as her eyes welled up but realised she would have to fight this battle alone, the creature was far to wounded.
"What does that mean?" The Borak asked Kora, his breath hot against her ear as a knife pressed against her neck. Her lips pressed together, refusing to answer. "If you won't answer me, you won't answer to anyone ever again." With that he slit her throat.
A high pitched sheik echoed through the dessert as a blinding light pulsed for a second and slowly faded. As daylight normalized, Kira hovered above the ground, more prepared for battle than ever. The sand under her mother's body turned dark brown as she realized the cat's emotions in battle: vengeance...

The cat stood below, in Kiras shadow. As Kira moved to attack she mirrored her below. She lit her hands up with electricity and punched him in the shoulder. It paralyzed him for a short few seconds as she rolled away allowing Kira to attack in turn.

As the warrior bellow stumbled back, Kira descended head first toward him. Sand exploded around them as her hands wrapped around his neck, pressing him deeper into the dune. A few light pulses radiated from the hollow crevice before Kira shot outta the hole she created. As she hovered above he lay there cackling, coughing up blood.
"You can't kill me. It's not in your blood." A broken cackle echoed briefly as Kira prepared an arrow and pulled back. "You think we don't know?" He asked as Kira hesitated letting the arrow fly. "We captured your brother. We need both of you." Kira's face drained of color.

The cat landed on his chest and then chewed on his face. He yelled in agony trying to pry himself free. He finally went silent when she pressed her fangs into his throat making his windpipe collapse. She let him suffocate a little before snapping his neck. She let go of her prey, blood dripping from her mouth. she slowly stood up and then looked up at Kira. The tip of her tail twitched in irritation as she swung it back and forth behind her.

"Good kitty." Kira whispered sarcastically as she looked down at the bloody scene below, trying to figure out if there were any other stragglers. "To bad you're not a dog." She thought of how helpful it would be to sniff out any other surprises.
Dropping her staff it landed near Kora. Kira descended slowly towards her mothers body. As she landed, her legs refused to hold her weight as her body nearly blanketed Kora's body. Sitting up, she picked up the staff and placed it over Kora's body; the top rested over the back of Kora's head while the bottom rested between her ankles. A flash of light engulfed them both - as it faded only Kira remained.
Kira slowly retracted her staff, putting it between her wings after a moment of hesitation. She quickly looked over at Tzila, observing her wounds and painful looking posture before standing and walking over to the cat. Kira didn't hesitate, let alone ask before placing her hands on every bloody piece of mated fur. The cat winced at her touch but kira could tell it was not from pain.
"Sorry you're stuck in this mess." Kira apologised. "I should just give them what they want..." She whispered, tears welled up in her eyes. "Thank you for your help... Whats your name...?"

The cat gently swatted her hands away after a short time. There was no point in being overly aggressive towards this person. She was a minor annoyance at best and one who had just lost someone important. There was little room left in the cats heart for anything but she did understand loss.
"Enough" her voice was rough from misuse
Up close Kira could see other details about the large female. Her left ear was missing the top half and her right ear had a large tear in it. She had a scar that ran across the top of her skull. Her right eye was just slightly duller in color than the left. Implanted into her collar bones were thick metal rings, evidence that she had been imprisoned.
"Never give them what they want" she growled
She turned away from the angel and vomited up a fair amount of blood. She had some dripping from her nose when she lifted her head again. The cat showed little interest in what was happening to her. She gave a warning glare to the angel to keep her hands off.
"I am already dead" she said "I feel nothing. I am nothing. My only purpose is vengeance"
She looked to the sky for a moment and then back to Kira. This angel didn't seem like the fighting type. She failed to kill the enemy and was currently crying.
"My name is Tzila" she finally said "If you wish to flee do it now. More will be coming. That ship has a distress beacon and it is active"
