Background The cataclysm in the old lands (In that western Elbow in the mountains, there are a series of valleys where the temple is and the harpy territory used to be) started with an earthstrike (earthquake) That caused landslides due to loose rocks and heavy rains that had softened the earth, allowing for Mudslides to develop with the trembling of the earth. The two sisters were in different areas when the earthquake happened, and both got separated from the flock by unstable ground, most of the people around them killed or severely injured.
While they tried to find their way back to the lands, more earthquakes happened, and eventually there was a natural pocket of gas that killed off most of the ground level members of the flock (And thus most of the males) and chased them to the temple area, which was in a more secluded spot and hadn't been touched as bad. However there was too much death, too many fires sparked in the gas, members dieing in flames, that they eventually headed off.
Izulai got back first, and discovered a land that was ravaged, filled with the dead and burned or rotting corpses that weren't able to be rescued, even the temple, their most sacred of places, abandoned with no sign of what had happened, a few mares or stallions having found their way back only to die with no one to care for their injuries, so it seemed like even there the death had reached the Flock. The Oracle had gone with the others to help find a new place to rest, even if for a moment, that was smiled on by the spirits.
Distraught, The dancer heads to the west, the trail cold enough and harpies stealthy enough that she could no longer tell what direction survivors went or even if there were survivors. Eventually she collapses, her own infected wounds getting to her, and awakens to find herself under the Care of Singeri, too sick to really fight the tending. While in her fever dreams, she dreams of the dead and then of their legends of the great mother starting the herd with just three, and how they used to have to just let males go, and of a bird flying into some mountains in the south of the setting sun, withering an dying, and landing in a lake in a valley and sinking below the surface, dead, before the water steams and boils, and the bird emerges beautiful and young, different but reborn.
Seeing this as a sign, and a way to bring the now "Dead" flock back to life, but in a new form, she learned some skills in the Knights of the Misty woods as she recovered, then set forth to the south west. Pleased to find a lone rise of mountains, she ventured to them and, with some exploring, discovered a valley filled with hot springs and, as fate would have it, beautiful birds that matched her vision as her belly grew and she neared labor.... As well as some poor Usdia and familiars who had been hunted regularly by a skinwalker she had killed as it tried to bar her way, their own herd having been decimated, them finding her giving birth in a cave. After finding out she had killed the skinwalker a few months earlier, and her promising to protect those of the valley, many of the females that remained in Phoenix Valley decided to help make her vision of a new flock real in the way she felt proper.
Thus the Phoenix Maiden Guild/Flock of Rebirth took its roots....

StatisticsName:Grace Warmheart Colorist: Mindsend Received Through: Rehomed: Stariemichie's 2014 CYO plush conversion Breed: Half-minicorn Stage: Adult Orientation: ???, but in quasiplatonic relationship with Izulai. Post Color: Date of Discovery: 1/29/15 Parents: N/A Siblings: N/A Offspring: N/A Uncert: Clothed | NekkidAlt Cert(s): NekkidStatus: Herd: Phoenix Maiden's Guild | Flock of Rebirth BackgroundBorn in Phoenix Valley, Grace spent most of her life tending a small orchard left to her care by her parents and collecting shed feathers from the Phoenicondors and peacondors that gave Phoenix Valley its name to trade with larger soquili. That is until she came home one day to find a tired, weary, and extremely pregnant Izulai seeking shelter in the small cave she called home, having returned early due to the same thunderstorm that Izulai sought shelter from. After talking for a little while, the larger mare goes into labor, and the Usdia mare leaves her sweater to keep her warm and rushes off to get the local medicine woman, a raccoon that lived near by. As Izulai went through her first time giving birth, the three kept her mind off of the pain by talking about what brought her there. It was there that they understood she came with the purpose of creating something that would keep the valley safe, and perhaps bring trade to them instead of them needing to venture from the valley, and thus Grace made it her goal to help Izulai start the Phoenix Maidens guild. AboutTerritoryOther Statistics The Orchard and territory was left to her care by her parents after they had been killed by some sort of predator or predators: Grace is unsure what got them since they had been identified by their broken accessories and what scraps of skin remained after they had been returned to her by neighboring familiars who had discovered their remains when her family had left the valley and her in charge to bring some produce to a familiar village to the far northeast of the hotspring mountains. Predators could have been almost anything: Meat eating soquili, Meat eating familiars, or even non-spirit touched predators.

StatisticsName:Keyah Breed: Racoon Stage: Adult Orientation: Unknown, Post Color: Parents: N/A Siblings: N/A Offspring: N/A Uncert: ClothedAlt Cert(s): None Rank/Professions: Co-Founder, Head Herbal Medicine priestess, Head Midwife Herd: Phoenix Maiden's Guild | Flock of Rebirth BackgroundKeyah had long lived in Phoenix Valley, having been raised there from childhood and trained as a healer and Midwife under her mothers guidance. But the valley became inhospitable: A Cused Catwalker had claimed their territory as their own, and began hunting the males and scaring the females deeper into the valley, wanting to kill the stronger members of the community so they could then fatten the more docile members as cattle, only keeping a few males around. While most of her tribe left, Keyah stayed behind, not wanting to let the village remain without a healer. Years passed. Then, one day, the skinwalker was found dead: Slashed with talons the size of butcher knives and eviscerated. At first, the survivors of the catwalkers reign were terrified: What new horror had moved in, and taken the skinwalker place? However it seemed life returned to a more peaceful period, where they were able to collect feathers and fruit to trade with other herds, and look for potential mates. It wasn't until Grace came for Keyah's help a few months later, telling her there was a fullsized mare sheltering in a cave with massive talons that was heavily in labor, who was sheltering in her cave, the Hippogryph being kind and gentle, but tired and in need of a midwife that they found out what had instead replaced the Cursedwalker: A mare who had arrived after having seen a vision of some sort, drawn to the valley to create a new, female dominated herd, but also open, and a place where males would come to them. Considering that they only had a few males left, and most of them were related to them or had ventured out to try and find new brides or bring more stallions back, the few that lived there still and didn't take the loss of the cursedwalker as a chance to escape the valley from the "new" terror that they were sure had replaced it, they could use a way to attract males. And Keyah truly wanted a chance to breath new life into a community, and promised to help the mare with her idea. The three created the Phoenix Maidens. Likes: Dislikes:
