Yolie learned of why her father was injured quickly enough that while the chirurgeons worked to see what could be done, she stole a young Regular for a guard named Elpideaus whom was firmly loyal to her father, and hurried to Mor Dhona. Being adopted by a Scion and no less than two Warriors of Light was not a barrier but a boon -- one Yolie never intended to exploit save now -- on her self appointed mission to find a young boy her weak Echo spoke of as wearing white, bearing the weapon of thaumaturgy -- which her men had also noted, along with a mask, and based on her questions over link pearl to her daddy Thancred, whom she spoke to to keep abreast of things as he and her moithers fret knowing her actual sire was in Eorzea and, moreso, he loved and wanted her unlike the man whom thought himself her sire, she was readily contactable and communicated. So, in this way, she gleaned the name 'Unukalhai', and with this wisdom, the girl moved to the Rising Stones, and moved into the Solar, Elpid3eaus at her side as she levelled a worried gaze on the boy in white, with a mask whom seemed quite sombre, and quickly smiled softly. He was young but had an agelessness to him that made her feel comfortable simply being herself. Not the daughter of a Legatuys, Scion, or Warrior of Light, but Yolanda Bas Hydrus, or Julius -- a strange Garlean throwback whom simply cared. "Excuse me," She spoke, voice soft. "But atre you Unukalhai? If so, I believe you met my father Regula. I wanted to meet you, and ah, make sure you were alright. My name is Yolanda." Redbud-Tree YOLIE WAS MAD I HAVEN'T GIVEN HER THREADS WITH UNU EVER.

Unukalhai hadn't been expecting any visitors today - now that the Triad was dealt with, his task was ended, and so he had little to do with himself but wait about on the off-chance that someone might drop by. Of course... he hadn't expected a Garlean to show up. Let alone one that was claiming... oh. Oh, she was family to van Hydrus? He hadn't been aware the man had any family, but... it was good to know, he supposed. Good people shouldn't be alone. (Terrible people, maybe, and maybe some in-between people, but not good people. And Regula was - had been... no, was good.) "I am," he said, tipping his head back to stare up at the girl thoughtfully. "I was not expecting any visitors. Mine apologies for being unprepared." Was she angry at him? She certainly had every right to be, given how foolish he had been when dealing with Zurvan. When he had gotten her father... hurt. Hurt. Not killed. He hoped.

It was Unukalhai! So SHORT! But his bearing was... Definately not as innocent as it could be -- she knew it well, as she was not much better at his size, and so she reached, hugging him before thinking. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, first. If Father hadn't been observing affairs with the Warring Triad on top of the rest of Azys Lla to see what you all were doing, I may never have met him after so long. So... I thank you, and for warning my other family of the Eikons." Yolie smiled, letting go sheepishly but still shyly smiling, and... Was she crying? Wiping a tear away? Maybe. "I was also worried after father was hurt you may have been hurt further clearing out the remaining thralls tempered by that demon-Eikon, and..." And came an awkward offer or request. "I think Father would mend better if you visited in his sick bed. Ah... You see I can explain his worry about you. It's my fault." Then she moved, sitting on the desk next to him and sitting down. She breathed slowly, looking down. "Father was in love with my mother before I was born, but great grandfather married her to a bad man. She dsidn't stop seeing my father, a common man loyal to his best friend, her brother, and when she was pregnant, she told father, and told her husband it was fate. But... When I was born it was obvious I was not her husband's. He killed my mother and waited, mistreating me for years. Father would visit on guise to mind me, but once I was ten... His accomplice, a doctor, helped cover him by saying my third eye was malformed and he left me in the Shroud as a ten year old." Yolie shut her eyes then, again, and reached to Unukalhai gently. "Father will not harm children. I'm not a strong fighter like I want to be -- like Papa Thancred, or Papa Nero -- gods know nowhere near Mama Kaida or Mama Gracie. But I try too. And I fear father may have seen myself at your age trying to just get by in you. And... I'm sorry if so. But you shouldn't feel guilty for Father either." Yolie looked over.at last, and placed a hand over Unukalhai's slowly, smiling gently again as she tried focusing in the now. Sometimes -- seeing visions was very hard to avoid. Others it was so easy -- like with other Garleans. Garlean Unukalhai was not by blood, but in spirit? Yes, and Yolie had to shake her head faintly at the vision trying to -- then electing to avoid -- her vision. "I also thought maybe... Because father needed rest I might come check on you myself. How old are you? Is company alright? - NOW she asked! - "Can you show me any thaumaturgy? Mama Kaida never let me watch much. If yuou'd feel better we could spar.I'm still learning to handle the monsters of Azys Lla but it's good for us both? Elpideaus won't intervene, he's just here so father doesn't worry." At his mention so informally, the Garlean looked sheepish, waving shyly. "Ah, 'ello young ser." The garlean spoke, tone shy. "Pleaswe forgive her -- she's no discretion of companionship. But that said, thank you and your companions. Had you not fended that thing off...I might've stayed in it's thrall. As for my lady, she won't hurt." THEN he chuckled, winking to the boy playfully and whispering. "I'll be surprised if in sparring she did harm at all." The slender man laughed, earning a brow raise from Yolie before she drawled slowly. "Really Elpie, and with your background." Then she squeaked, covering her mouth. She tried HIDING the Echo! Very hard, too! Elpideaus raised a brow himself in confusion then, before blinking. Was his lady okay???

She... wasn't blaming him? But it was entirely his fault that van Hydrus had been so terribly hurt. Unukalhai listened to her story without much reaction, primarily because he didn't know how to react - what was the appropriate thing to say or do? He certainly wasn't about to go spouting off his entirely-too-brief life story, no matter how willing she was to tell hers. It was too private, too close to his chest, and... well. Well, he didn't know her - and she was asking a lot. "I - ah... that is - " He started to say, and fought the impulse to hide behind the desk he usually liked to lean on. "Could we... perhaps focus on one question at a time? I'm not certain what you would want me to answer first."

"I guess whichever you're comfortable with. Father said you were a kid." Yolie blinked, Elpideus sighing at his lady's rather un-legate liker behaviour, before she shrugged. "Sorry for inundating you, I just... I like meeting people. Especially ones who don't mind Garleans." Finally, a pause. "Imean... If I don't bother you..." Elpideaus sighed then, bowing apologetically. "My apologies again ser.My Lady, please stop prattling like some Hingan tea girl or geiko entertaining. It's so - so unladylike!" Yolie winced, sulking. "Sorry..."

"I - my apologies," Unukalhai murmured, fidgeting where he stood and looking away. "I am.. unaccustomed to speaking with others, especially about matters that are not... related to my purpose." He meant no offense, truly he didn't, but he didn't understand why she was being so... So... Chatty? "I don't mind answering, but I'm... uncertain where to begin?"

Redbud-Tree "I - my apologies," Unukalhai murmured, fidgeting where he stood and looking away. "I am.. unaccustomed to speaking with others, especially about matters that are not... related to my purpose." He meant no offense, truly he didn't, but he didn't understand why she was being so... So... Chatty? "I don't mind answering, but I'm... uncertain where to begin?" Elpideaus seemed happy to try beckoning his lady leave, but Yolie didn't. She knew that turn of head and fidget without seeing his eyes, and instead took a deep breath, gently reaching for Unukalhai before putting a hand on his shoulder, before kneeling to his level, looking him in hopefully the eyes with an understanding gaze. "I used to avoid people unless I needed to as well, Unukalhai. You can talk about what you're comfortable talking about. If I push too far, you have every right to stop me from going further and telling me you'd prefer not to say.I'm not here to be scary or hurt you. I'm here -- as what I hope can be a friend for you, if you'd have that. And," It was good manners to warn before expressing her gift. It was a lesson she learned as a child, and one she knew was true -- to WARN people she showedf, because while unable to control the odd Echo ability she'd somehow been born to and saught answers to, she did have a throwback to their ancestors -- further than even Allag. "As a token of goodwill and my trust I will share with you a secret." Elpideaus spoun, alarmed at his lady's boldness until she motioned for him to stand down, shielding Unuksalhai as a sibling unconciously as her mind gently, like tendrils of smoke, reached to touch his, porpusefully avoiding much beyond ensuring he was, very gently, pulled into the barren landscape her mind occupied away from her friend as a small child. This is my secrety, Yolie soothed gently. I don't know how, but I am a telepath, my mama tells me. I'm not good at it, but it's nice with friends. And -- and I can show people my memories. I promise, I know it's scary but...She closed her eyes then, looking down. "...Father said you seemed alone... I know.. What being alone is like. So... I suppose my reason to reach is slightly selfish too -- I don't want a child alone like I was. Is.. That okay?"

"I've... been alone longer than most people could ever believe," Unukalhai said softly, not because he felt upset or anything, but rather because he didn't want her to feel like she owed him any sort of special attention. Especially when it had been his fault her father had been hurt in the first place. Why was she being so persistently... nice? It was strange! Stranger was the mental landscape he was tugged into, and Unukalhai didn't quite know what to do about that. He couldn't hide his nature here - that he was from another world, that he was not truly physical any longer unless he wanted to be, or.. well. Anything. This was a dangerous place, and while he didn't think Yolanda was the type of person to use it against him, it was still... Not exactly safe.

"So?" Yolanda stared in confusion immediately. "You're still a living person. Nobody should be alone forever." The Garlean then reached, petting his hood gently with a soft look. "I'm not my father. I admit I might be overstepping his rules by coming to see you, but I couldn't sit with myself without at least offering my company to someone he spoke so well of." The acting legatus then sat on the desk, shutting her eyes to think. As she did, her mind reached towards his in her odd mindscape, hurt it seemed -- jagged and scarred in areas. The girl's mind didn't try to pry into what or even details -- she didn't even know how. In fact, she seemed entirely unaware of how the mental landscape worked past gently wrapping herself around him as she often did to comfort and offer her presence as balm for hurts and fears. When her eyes opened, she offered Unukalhai her hands. "Do you know what... The mindscape I have is?" She asked softly. "You seem scared. Is... Is it bad?" NOW her tone hitched. She clearly hadn't told her father, based on the confusion and alarm on Elpideus' face, but knowing it may be bad -- that made her unsure if she ought to say a thing, instead the fermale trembling. "I can. I can push you out too I. Is.. It's bad iusn't it?" And she shook, swallowing.

"No!" Unukalhai said, shaking his head and trying to reach back out to her, unsure if he could do so correctly, but not wanting the sweet (if overwhelming) girl to retreat from him or look so sad. "It isn't that it's bad, it's -" He sighed and closes his eyes behind his mask, hands clenching slightly at his sides. "I... I am an ally," he said slowly, the words coming painfully, "But you do not wish to know me. It could only cause you harm were you to.. understand my nature." Even as, he though, an Echo-bearer herself (which he thought she might be, probably) she could not know what he was. What he had failed at doing... He had only told the Scions as much as he had because he owed them, he wanted them to be able to trust him... and because they needed to understand just how dire a threat it was they faced every day. (And even having told them, he didn't think they'd all fully understood everything.)

"It's abnormal." Yolie murmured quietly, but didn't pull away. She wasn't sure how really -- Zenos had been ripped away by proximity and the girl knew that... But this was more difficult. Normally she could nudghe others out, but Unukalhaiu seemed far more familiar than she at this, and the garlean motioned her escort back to huddle next to him, swallowing as she closed her eyes. "I know you are. I... Stepped out of bounds... That's all." She murmured. Garleans aren't supposed to communicate like I can. The only person close was a companion in the Empire, but he was ripped away.I'm sorry -- I didn't think. I didn't mean to do something bad. But she felt she had, and only hrer armor hid the shaking as she motioned Elpideus out, the soldier hesitating before leaving. Once alone, Yolie crunbled. She couldn't See Unukalhai like she did most. No visions, no abnormal sights, a blessing, and a struggle as she crumpled, burying her face in her arms as she curled up. "And he didn't SEE things. You're. I don't see anything I promise but... I forget people know Garleans don't have this sort of trait. I'm sorry.I'm out of line. I'm sorry, I am so sorry, I... I just... Iknowe it;'s an anoimaly..."
