T’kani stared at her graduation application, having already double and tripled-checked all of the degree requirements, not that she hadn’t also done so after every class to make sure she was on the right track to graduate. She’d gotten through all of the classes in the desired time, even after increasing her course load by double-majoring, and it still didn’t seem to be enough. Being at the university had been the best years of her life so far, if only because she got to be around the two most important people in her life. Now that she was ready to leave though, she knew that she couldn’t stay away for long.

Flipping through the application, she checked the small notice on the back page detailing modified instructions on what to do if the student was applying to be a grad student, trying to make sure she had followed what little directions were there to the fullest. The last thing she wanted to do was to be stuck in some limbo for a year.

She knew that she wanted to keep pursuing both science and engineering as a grad student, but there wasn’t one solitary subject that she wanted to focus on just yet. Everything she had learned at the university had been wonderful, and often times she found herself spending what little free time she had at the library researching topics that had only been touched in in her classes. Being an ‘undeclared and undecided’ grad student sounded about as promising as getting a masters in underwater basket weaving though, so hopefully she would figure something out within the first semester...
