Quote:
12 - A tall, redheaded man with a very attractive face walks past, head tilted up, blue eyes watching you with regal arrogance before he disappears into the tent. There's something odd about it...have you seen him before? You can't seem to remember...

"Just you for now." Shannon snickered and let the young man go before turning towards the tent in question. She was about to say something snarky, maybe a bit flirty, when a tall man walked past. A hansom man. Tall, red hair, blue eyes. Quite striking. Yummy. Now him she would want to take back to her tent for some 'talking'. He had the whole king vibe which she wasn't too into but with that face and that body, she wouldn't mind being his queen for a little while. But who was he?

The curvy performer stared at the tent that the hotty had ducked into, her brow quickly furrowing in confusion as she tried to remember who he was. There was no way in hell Shannon wouldn't have found out the moment he joined them. A sharp pain flashed across her brain breaking her concentration, causing her to wince. Maybe she needed to sleep more than she thought she did.

"Let's go sit down, I'm not feeling too good anymore." Her head hurt as thoughts and ideas and fragments tumbled through it.

Watching as the female eyed up someone, who he didn't know, he shook his head and held back his laughter. She seemed the sort who liked to flirt with as many people as she could, not that there was any harm in that. She seemed nice enough to him. That person she was watching though...they seemed odd...like a puzzle piece which didn't fit. He didn't know them - right? He was pretty sure he'd never seen them around only he should have, right? They worked here...at least he thought so.

It was when he was turning back into the tent, the females gaze still on that man, that he spotted someone out of the corner of his eyes. He didn't know who they were but they felt wrong to him, similar to the other one. In fact when he went to hold the flap of his tent up for the female, wanting to be polite, it felt like something he'd never done before. He'd never been in a tent, never held a flap up for someone. It felt like his first time ever moving to settle himself onto the ground as he was doing now.

"Yeah...that's fine. Sit." They could talk, while he tried to figure out why this all felt so off suddenly. It felt so...wrong. Glancing about his tent, as if it might give him some sort of a clue, he felt like he was falling suddenly as he took a moment to look at a mirror that hung there for everyone to use. Hanging from one of the poles keeping the little tent up was a mirror. Falling through a mirror...that wasn't possible and yet he felt like he knew what it was like - like he'd done it. The thought, trying to reach for it to mentally inspect, had a sudden throbbing in his head start up - like he was thinking too hard.

"What's wrong anyway? Maybe someone had some medication we can get you? I know one of my tentmate carries a lot of things..."

Shannon smiled half heartedly at the gallant effort of Liam as he held the tent flap back for her. She might have tossed in some flirting or at least some teasing if her head didn't feel so odd, a feeling that got worse as she took her first steps into the large tent.

This wasn't right. None of it was right. She was not a tent person. For a moment the canvas walls appeared to be brightly painted stucco, the sound of light instrumental playing in the background, and sandalwood permeating the air, before she was looking at the canvas of the tent again. It was brightly lit but it was still wrong.

"I don't know." Shannon absently massaged her temples as she gingerly sat on one of the beds. Her head hurt but it wasn't like a headache, more like a nagging feeling of forgetting something. Something monumentally important. "No... no I think I'll be fine after some sleep." She eyed her surroundings again. Maybe because it wasn't her tent that she was feeling so... off. "Everything just feels," She paused as she tried to come up with a better description but failed, "wrong. Everything just feels wrong somehow."

Looking at her from where he was Liam felt his head nodding even as words passed his lips. "Something feels off....like there is something missing." Somehow, from what she was saying, it sounded like he wasn't the only one who felt like something was very wrong. He was staring at her with hopeful eyes, hoping he wasn't alone - hoping she felt like he did. It sounded like she did but maybe..maybe he was just hearing what he wanted. Maybe she was just tired, as she said, and he was just having some sort of problem.

Moving, quickly, to close the tent flap and tie it closed, so no one could just walk right in, he sat himself down. "Tell me what it feels like...." Please tell him he wasn't alone in feeling like this. This was so odd and it felt wrong and his head throbbed a bit as he tried to figure it out, to find out what was so wrong. He was missing something but he hadn't a clue what...but mirrors...it dealt with mirrors.

Shannon nodded. Liam was right, something was off but what was it? It was strange. Every time she felt like she got a grasp on what was wrong it slipped away. Burning away like fog when the morning sun crested above the trees. Fragments of memories that made no sense, places she thought she knew but she didn't. Memories and thoughts of her life in the circus that just didn't feel right. "What it feels like?" Shannon had to think, how did one describe the feeling settling on her, beyond the headache that was starting to throb behind her eyes.

"Like your wearing clothes just a hair too large or small. Or as if someone moved everything in your tent just an inch to the right. You know something is wrong but don't know what it is. Something is off with this whole thing but is it the city, the show, my performance, or the audience. If this was a computer game I would think there was a glitch or something in the programming." Shannon frowned as she did her best to put into words how she was feeling, that frown deepened as something starts to throb in the background. Who was the a*****e who had their music that loud? Or was someone practicing on the drums or something?

Boom.

"Like puzzle pieces are missing?" He questioned her as he glanced about. "It feels like being in a tent is wrong...or just off." He said slowly, testing the words, the thoughts, on his tongue before he spoke. He took his time but he was honest with what he was feeling, and thinking. There was a lot off with this all but he couldn't grasp it.

"I just can't figure it out. I can't....when I try it hurts - like the starting of what'll be a nasty headache." And he wasn't one who enjoyed pain but it felt like he had to figure this out, had to deal with the pain to figure it out. "I just wish I knew what was missing...there are blank spots and I need to fill them."

"Yes! Exactly," Shannon nodded along with his thought process although it was getting harder and harder as the sounds ricocheted through her head. "Like your looking through water and trying to figure out what's that on the other side." Her words weren't quite as clear as the sounds pressed in on her head, hazy and indistinct. The sound was getting louder and louder, her thoughts bouncing around her head. Her memories fragmenting with each throb of her heart.

No, not her memories. Those... these are not her memories. This is not HER!

Boom.

Louder and louder, like someone is yelling inside of her head. Screaming and screeching, fingernails on a chalkboard with the intensity of just how wrong everything is. Her memories aren't hers but they were, weren't they? Her head is going to split apart with the pain, with the effort of keeping everything inside, with trying to figure out what's happening, and straighten out her mind...

Something b r e a k s.......

"More like a mirror...only it's foggy." Because a mirror was easier to see through than what he was trying to grasp at. But it made sense to him what the female was saying. "I just want to get rid of the fog and figure this out...it feels like I have to - it'll nag at me until I do."

Thinking, or focusing, on what seemed to be missing was painful but it felt like it needed to be done. Like he could feel phantom objects in his hands, feel what it was like to grasp something...to experience something. But he didn't get it and he needed to know why these feelings and where the thoughts came from. But he couldn't.

She seemed to be suffering as much, maybe more, than he was. He had no idea it would all be over soon...that he'd be able to clear away the fog. As a loud sound soon shattered everything he thought was real, though he'd been questioning it now.
