Sherwood had been gone for a long while, that much was true, but she was trying to get back to the people she loved. She'd gotten to most of them, settling into an idyllic kind of life, all things considered, but she had yet to see two people she missed very much. Because of that when she went patrolling these days she lingered near the library, hoping to feel a certain aura. She'd grown since he saw her last, now a Squire of Earth.

She hoped he'd be proud.

Sure enough she finally felt a bright aura and happily ran toward it, knowing it could only belong to one person and that was one person she wanted to see more than anything. She adored him, and his wife whom she'd quietly gotten to know over the month. Kyn was just shy of inviting Caydence and the boyfriend she heard so much about over for family dinners, now that the house was nearly empty with everyone gone but Sarah and the puppers. She was having difficulty adjusting to so few people in such a large house.

"Papa Camelot!"

She didn't immediately feel Merlinite's aura and would have to ask about the dragon sometime. She did, however, immediately throw her arms around him as she got to him, hugging him as tightly as she could for a long, long while.

Camelot was very tired, but things were looking up. He felt like he was making progress with a few soldiers of the negaverse that he had been speaking with, and of course Merlinite was on the mend now that he had energy to eat. The fact that one of the people who had injured him in turn helped him to heal gave Camelot a bit of hope, as well.

Maybe it was too soon to tell, but he would do his best to keep things on the up path.

He heard the familiar voice, smiling and letting the aura approach. He caught her in a hug, picking her up and chuckling as he greeted her warmly. He set her down, looking her over like a parent whose kid had been away at college for a while.

"I was beginning to wonder where you'd gotten to, Sherwood!" Camelot said, feeling a wave of relief. Sometimes, when White Moon soldiers went missing for a while, they never came back. Killed or corrupted. And it was very difficult to find out the facts, when things like that happened. He found he was always worrying about it, in the back of his mind, and every time he could see someone he knew and cared about was a little miracle.

"You look very well. What are you up to?"

Until that moment she had not realized how much she had missed him.

Patiently, Sherwood let him look her over to reassure him that yes, she was still in one piece and yes she'd grown since he last saw her. She knew how he tended to worry and did not want to be the source of it. She offered him a smile, hugging him again when he was done for good measure. It had all been too much for her for a hot minute, but she was was sure she wasn't the first person that happened to.

"I've been lurking around the library hoping to see you and Puff. I left for a while, you know? It got to be a little too much once I upgraded to," she gestured to her uniform, "this."

But on that note she was very well, and happy. College was going pretty well and she chatted about her classes, taking his arm so they could walk around. A little stroll on a cold night sounded nice. After a minute, though, she looked at him sidelong. Her curiosity was getting the better of her and he couldn't be that interested in the idle prattle of a young woman.

"I haven't seen Mama Shalott for a while, either. Is she ok?"

Shalott tended to be less active these days, and mostly only by his side. Together, she felt, nothing could defeat them.

"Yes, I can see. I'm sorry it was difficult for you, though. I know it can become a little much, all at once, and does not get easier no matter how much you power up. I've done it four times, from awakening, and it still caught me by surprise each time."

Of course, becoming a Royal Knight made things a lot more complicated, but he would not trade it for the world. He was able to do so much more now, and he welcomed that ability, rather than let himself get overwhelmed by how much still needed to be done.

"She's doing well. A little lonely, I think, but safe. I'm sure she misses you, and would love to hear from you some time." He was glad to hear she was doing well, letting her tell him about college and anything else she wanted to talk about. He felt very much like he had another child, but he got that feeling a lot when he was talking to knights and senshi he'd been through a lot with.

He sighed, shaking his head.

"It's actually nice to be able to just talk and walk for a bit. It feels like things have been in constant overdrive recently." With Merlinite being injured and things with Painite and Cavansite escalating, he'd been feeling the weight of stress without actually really noticing it.

"I'm guessing it never gets any easier?"

He was a royal knight, the biggest and baddest among them. She always assumed he had more answers than she did and not just because of his age. He just seemed wiser and more patient than she knew she'd ever be capable of being. She let him lead her for a nice walk, wanting him to go at his own pace. She'd always been sporadic in patrolling and though she was trying to get back into it, being responsible had never come easy for her.

She thought of Mama Shalott and how cool it had to be to know that her husband was on her team and one of the strongest around. It was something of a #relationshipgoals thing for her and her boyfriend down the line.

"Papa," she looked up at him, frowning thoughtfully. "I haven't felt Puff in a while. Is that cause he's at your Wonder?"

While neither man relished their nicknames she couldn't shake them. It was simply in her nature to do that, assigning names to them to promote her own familiar connection. It was her way of being affectionate. Despite the grump, she had liked the half dragon youma quite a lot.

"I keep thinking about him. Is there anything you can do for him? I mean...you save them, right? You can make them better."

"I wouldn't say easier, no. Different, certainly, but I suppose every day is different. Especially here." Strange things were all too common in Destiny City, which mostly made then not all that strange after all. It was startling how easy it was to adapt to being transported to new and dangerous worlds, or facing dangerous foes, these days.

He smiled, though, not wanting to dwell too much on what could happen, or how difficult things might be. They just all plodded along, getting through what they had to, to make the world a better place. That was what made it all worth it, in the end.

"He's been very injured and weak. Hadaya is with him, most of the time, but he doesn't leave the library much. He's on the mend now, thankfully, with some orbs of energy. His wing was ruined in the attack, though, and I doubt it will ever heal."

He shook his head, looking disappointed in himself.

"I wasn't able to protect him then, but I'm working on being able to purify him. I have found out there is a way, with the help of a Court, and he just needs to get strong enough to try it. I didn't want to risk the stress of it while he was so badly injured."

Sherwood was a little disappointed that things didn't get any easier. She had suspected as much but had kind of hoped that he'd lie to her about it. Of course he wouldn't, he wasn't that kind of a guy. She knew all too well how strange Destiny City could be, having gotten caught up in quite a few situations that she couldn't explain except for this war and her place in it.

Her look didn't improve when he explained where Merlinite had been. Her eyes grew wide and she frowned, shaking her head.

"I want to see him." It wasn't often she demanded but this definitely had an air of it. "He can have some of my energy. I want to help him."

She certainly didn't blame him for not protecting the dragon since sometimes dangers came out of no where. If the other side was determined enough, they had soldiers of their own. He was strong, but not strong enough to defeat everyone at once. Even she knew that and she'd never really seen him fight before except against Painite and that hadn't lasted very long.

Anyway, if it meant protecting Merlinite and giving him a chance to purify she was willing to do whatever it took.

Camelot nodded his head, offering her a reassuring smile.

"Of course you can see him. I'm sure he'll like the company. Hadaya has been spending a lot of time with him, but I think that little cat tends to talk his ear off. Some less... needy company might do him some good in his recovery, as well." He trusted Sherwood, of course, and knew she would keep Merlinite's location safe.

He would leave out the part about showing it to one of the two Generals that had attacked him in the first place... as that was a very complicated story.

"It's okay, he's healing. He has enough energy now, I think. But some damage won't be as easily removed. Friendship and reassurance will help him more, I think. And just hanging out with the Knights that will be his allies when he's strong enough to purify."

He smiled, knowing Sherwood was one of the best friends a person could ask for, and not worried in the slightest about Merlinite's recovery so long as he had friends like her, and people like Camelot himself to be body guard, looking after him.

"Oh. did you mean right now? He's in the basement of the library, which is locked and inaccessible save for, of course, someone with the keys. I can take you to him easily enough."
