Macramé - There is something quite wonderful about knot tying. Ever since he was a little cub scout earning Square Knot badges, he found them fascinating, beautiful, and pretty darned useful. Though these days he doesn't often find a need to tie the more useful knots, he does make time to get his macrame on. He'll sit at his desk at the station, just knotting away while doing paperwork or relaxing at home and watching tv. Derryl has made many, many gifts, from tea cozies to He's gotten pretty good at it now, and regularly goes to teach a small class at the community center near his station for a few hours each week.

Bowling - There is just something incredibly stress relieving about rolling a ball down a lane at high speeds just to watch it smash a set of pins at the other end. Derryl has come to adore bowling for that very reason, and comes to the local lanes at least a few times a week to burn off steam. Being an officer in Destiny City is a hella stressful job, and he finds comfort in that delightful smash! He even participates in the Local Police Bowling League, even though he's certainly not the best.

Dog Training/Puppy Fostering - When not busy with work or on an extended break, Derryl's most beloved hobby is puppy fostering. When rescued pets need a new place to stay until they are up for adoption, Derryl is there to coddle them and love them and train them so that they are prepared to go to their forever home. He has his own giant Newfoundland named Riggs who he uses to help other dogs become familiar with other dogs, and together they make the most patient, gentle duo ever! He tends to be seen around the town with both Riggs and the foster pet of the day pretty often, happily advertising the shelter he works for and handing out information to people who may be interested in adopting the dog he is with.

Virtues:

Adventurous -- If you have any sort of outing you'd like to do, then Derryl's 100% for it!There's nothing he won't try once (as long as it's legal). If you wanna go explore that creepy ol' abandoned building, sure, he'll come with you, as long as no obvious 'no trespassing' signs are posted. He's happy to be the first to try out anything new that pops up around the city, and is often near the front of the line for any new openings that pop up on his radar, work permitting. He's always up for anything he's never tried before, and will often do it without more than a passing mention from someone else. There's hardly a thing he's afraid of trying out atleast once, but he is steadfast on his ways about it not being something that breaks the law.

Punctual -- By 'ready to go', Derryl is very literally ready to go. He's on time to every meeting, get together, and event he's invited too and very much dislikes showing up late for anything. His superiors praise the timeliness of his reports, and he's been labeled as incredibly reliable, actions almost like clockwork to tell time by. You can be certain that if you ask Derryl to be at a place at a specific time, he's going to get there, right on the dot, as long as there aren't any emergencies.

Sociable -- Derryl simply adores being around people. It doesn't matter what kinda person you are, as long as you're law-abiding, he's happy to chat it up and make friends all around. He's tried hard to become the face of his District's Police Department, and even if he's not yet, he's well known to be that cop you 'want' patrolling your parties. While he's going to enforce the law, he's still gonna make sure he's being welcoming and friendly and as unintimidating as possible. He wants to be there for you and talk, not scare the fun out of everything!

Flaws:

Impatient -- Just as he is on time as much as he can, he expects everyone else to be on time too. He can't stand those who go by their own 'Margaritaville' type pace when there is a schedule to keep and is quick to scold them for it. He also doesn't like to be kept waiting in any sense of the word. Longer than 10 minutes on a food order? He'll start fussing and pinging online about terrible kitchen staff, though is careful to be kind to the wait staff, as it's not their fault. His time is precious to him, and any sort of waiting around without reason after a time has been set will set him in a bad mood for quite some time.

Bitter -- As friendly as a guy Derryl can be, he can hold one hell of a grudge. Any injustice he feels has been made against him will be taken personally no matter how minor it is. It's especially bad when the offense is against his work and projects, where any comment made that is negative beyond a professional manner will mark it's maker as s**t to Derryl. Once he comes to resent someone, he becomes petty towards them, and subtly tries to undermine whatever they do. When he gets caught being petty, he'll deny anything, and it seems that his resentment only grows.

Obsessive -- Once Derryl is set on a task, he just can't let it go. He becomes single sighted and will do the best he can to not be broken away from his tasks until he reached whatever goal he had set for himself. When at work, he becomes so focused on details that sometimes he has to be forced to take a step back, and that often spills over to his normal life, leaving him almost anxious that he may have missed something important. Sometimes that little detail just isn't important, no matter how much he thinks it is, and needs to be reminded that.

Since you've already got your art for Makgadikgadi I'd like to get a trial stamp dropped for you quickly, but before I can there are a few things I'd like to take a look at.

His flaws look fantastic and I think they're set up in a way that works with his virtues, especially the way punctual and impatient counter one another. When it comes to the virtues there are some parts of fun-loving that overlap enough with sociable that the two could almost be combined, but that would leave you in need of another virtue or one less flaw. I would suggest possibly make 'fun-loving' into 'adventurous' and focusing more on the outings and trips and trying new things than the accepting invites to social gatherings.

The knight stuff looks good as far as the magic goes, but I'd love a bit more clarification on his weapon as I'm having a bit of trouble visualizing at the moment. At squire we have a bracer with a whip attached graduating to a shoulder guard with whips at knight?

Also, as you currently have the weapon described, by knight stage he would have a metal claw that served as a grappling hook? Unfortunately, one of the important things about knight weapons is that they aren't permitted to be lethal and metal claws on a grappling hook could definitely have the potential to be so.

If we could get a bit of clarification in regards to his weapon along with the adjustments to his virtues we can continue with our progress!
