It was a good day. For one, it was warm. Really warm. Oddly warm for winter. Raina was pretty sure that was probably actually a bad thing, considering what science told her, but it felt really nice against her skin. She could get away without wearing one of those annoying bulky coats. For another, her mother actually let her go outside. On her own! Without her brother or a babysitter! She wished she had a friend with her, but she had to admit it was nice to be allowed to just go outside. Maybe her mother finally trusted her, jeez. Raina wasn't exactly sure what she was going to do with her couple hours of psuedo-freedom (her mother kept texting her every ten minutes it was really annoying) but she was certain it was going to involve sweets, or something. At the very least, she was heading towards a sweets shop her older brother had taken her to one time. She had enough money in her pocket from her allowance to maybe buy a cupcake. Or three. ... Or four. No one had to know. She stuffed her hands in her pockets, walking with a bit of a skip to her step as she crossed the street. To herself, she hummed a familiar video game theme.

Winter was already becoming the near bane of her existence. The Savannah's tall, slender limbs and relatively short fur were fantastic for warm weather, without much of a concern for overheating (speaking generically of what she understood of weather patterns in the region) but cold weather?
Réalta loathed the snow, she quickly learned. Oh it was pretty. But with her preference to not reside in a single home for an extended time, and instead claim 'hidey-holes' she could sleep in when needed, most of those stollen spaces did not come equipped with heating systems.
Days like this, where the warm weather could actually beat against her fur were a blessing. The black spots and sword marking down her back absorbed the heat, recharging her like natural solar panels. She basked beneath the rays, laying along a wide top of a low wall fencing off a closed porch of a cafe where in better weather people would perch on the benches and at umbrella decorated tables. The hum of traffic and people wandering to and fro was a delightful sound, considering how many more people were out and about today, equally enjoying the sunshine. Oh she was less pleased by how many youngsters would wander by her and try to tug on her tail, but she never minded the strangers patting her head or giving her back a stroke.
Besides, she was reaching out with that little radar in her head. It was instinctive, that natural state of listening, watching, waiting. Many times, she was unsure what she was waiting for but she enjoyed such... spontaneous hunts, as they were.
An odd sound hit her ears, flickering as a single pearl-purple eye opened towards the road. A girl humming, the large feline flicked her tail with vague interest. "Mrrrow~?" She was getting better at imitating Earth cats, she thought, a necessity with most humans.

Raina's skipping skidded to a stop when she crossed the street, but the humming continued. She needed to take a look around to reorient herself. Okay, the sweets shop was that -- Her golden eyes were suddenly distracted by the flick of a tail, and Raina couldn't help a small squeal. It was so nice out that even the cats were sunning! She loved cats (and also dogs, honestly, any kind of cute pet) and whenever she spotted animals on her little walks, it tended to distract her from her purpose. Considering she didn't have her mother this time to keep pulling her along and keep her focused, Raina went with her instincts and moved towards the cafe instead. The cat also seemed to be looking at her, so clearly she wanted her attention, right? When she arrived in front, her eyes opened a bit wide. This was a big cat. Also, her fur color was really cool! "You're so cute!" squealed Raina, apparently very excited about this cat. Thankfully, she wasn't taking the chance like some of the other young people around did to pull on her tail. Instead, Raina seemed content just to stare at the cat and cheer like the cat had just won an award.

When the cute little girl came up to her, Realta's ears perked forward. That mental little zing in her mind caused that radar of sorts to ping like crazy. Senshi found, senshi found, it seemed to say. Her eyes stared half-lidded, lazy and peaceful, at the delightfully cheery child. Did she feel guilty awakening a child?
No. Not at all.
Starseeds of unawakened senshi were beacons to those that could sense them. If she didn't awaken them, there was a higher chance of a youma coming across them and eating their starseeds. Never mind if a Negaverse-aligned Mauvian--the very thought of which made bile rise in the back of her throat, ugh--found this child...
Even if she couldn't be brought into the Negaverse yet, she far preferred to give the child a fighting chance to defend herself.
It was why she had no problem getting up from where she lay, stretching languidly as only a cat could, and hopping off the low wall. "Meeerup~" she chirped to the girl, moving over to rub around her legs before trotting off towards an alleyway. Now and then, she stopped, chirping more at the child till she followed her. Realta knew better than to speak in front of others, after all, never mind giving the child her pen.
Once alone, she sighed, again turning around to curl around the girl's legs. "Thank you for following me, dear, I realize this is very odd," she said gently. She then sat down, awaiting any short of shock or delight or anything that might erupt from hearing a cat speak. Realta was patient as she explained herself as a Mauvian, an aid to senshi or sailor soldiers, cosmic soldiers, whatever one wanted to call them. "We protect the Earth," she said simply, trying to keep things in words a child could comprehend, "from people and forces that want to hurt it and the people here. You, my dear, use the power of Anser as Sailor Anser, Senshi of Geese." She didn't laugh, only smiled--she'd seen enough of those big birds to know they weren't pretty, docile things. They had teeth, and she'd already had a few poor encounters with them in parks...
Feeling magic build within her, the Savannah leapt backwards, a henshin pen forming within the swirl of magic that formed. When she landed, the device hummed in the air before Realta grabbed it with her mouth, presenting it to the girl. "Just say Answer Power, Make Up when you're ready," she instructed once it was taken, sitting down with a proud smile upon her face.
She spent some time with the child, happy to explain what she could, even if it was just to enjoy her surprise or enthusiasm about it all. Assure her she was safe. Live up as much to her role as a guardian as she could before they parted ways for the time. She might have been a child, but that pen gave her a greater chance at being safe amongst this war than being blissfully unaware until a youma came to gobble her up... It was a grim fact, but one that the Mauvian trusted to help guide her in her efforts to better assist these young soldiers.
Seiana_ZI Years later, here's your awakening Anser :'D FIN
