Hobbies:

Journaling - Zhen likes to keep a record of her life, and has been studiously writing down her thoughts, events in her life, even things as mundane as shopping lists in journals since she was about ten or eleven. She's filled a large number of diaries over the years (all kept locked and well away from her younger siblings, thank you), and even now, despite her busy schedule, Zhen will take the time every single day to write something down, as it clears her head and allows her time to refocus on whatever task she has to hand.

Knitting - There's a certain amount of control required for knitting, along with patience and persistence. While Zhen herself is not overly fond of wearing her creations, she nonetheless enjoys making them, and after practicing at it since she was about fifteen, has reached a decent enough level of skill that she feels confident in giving knit items out as gifts. She enjoys making things for her family and friends, and those people she has grown fond of will often find something handmade wrapped neatly up and given to them without warning or need. She gets a quiet bu genuine pleasure out of seeing people wear what she makes, as it's a sign of her affection for them.

Reading - Zhen enjoys a good work of fiction from time to time, and no small amount of nonfiction about various topics that pique her curiosity. She's a member of a small book club mostly made up of other Masters' students, and they meet up once or twice a month to discuss the books they selected to read as a group, and the topics can range from historical fiction to travel guides to sci-fi/fantasy. Generally, Zhen prefers more realistic fiction, but she has a stash of steamy, over-the-top romance novels that she will defend with her life.

Virtues:

Poised - Zhen is one of those woman who always seems to be put together. Never a hair out of place, her makeup eternally on point, she never even seems to trip. She moves with a natural sort of grace that extends past the physical and into conversation - you'll not see her stumble over her words or hesitate. It's very difficult to shake or startle her, and even when frightened she will generally manage to keep herself together, which has helped her to no end in presentations for her degree, as well as in job interviews.

Persuasive - As befitting someone working on her Masters' in communication, Zhen knows the right way to talk to someone in order to achieve a desired result. The point isn't always to get them to completely agree with you, it's just to shift their thinking a little, or make them think that they came up with an idea that was planted by someone else. It's simply a matter of knowing the right word or turn of phrase at the right time, and Zhen has a natural gift at this. She's careful to pick her battles and doesn't try to be outright manipulative, but if someone is being stubborn about an issue she can usually be counted on to be the one who will know how to talk them around, and she's the person in her book club you don't want to get into a debate with.

Dedicated - No matter what the task is, if it needs doing, Zhen will see it done. She cuts herself no slack and will work as har as she possibly can in order to achieve a good result. While this may sound like it's only a tendency toward hard work, that's just the surface of this trait; if she believes something is her responsibility, Zhen focuses on it, gives it her loyalty and quite literally everything. In effect, she becomes the task, and the end result is usually far above-par and is the reason she received a full-ride scholarship for her undergrad program.

Flaws:

Haughty - Zhen is a lovely, graceful woman who tends to do well at what she does... and she knows it. This seeps into everything she does, down to the way she carries herself. She carries herself like a queen and believes herself to be far grander and more important than she actually is. She is, after all, still only a student and a part-timer, but in her mind she might as well be a CEO or major news anchor. She commands the spotlight and sees acting humble as debasing herself. She's won few friends with this attitude, given her airs tend to drive more humble people away from her.

Remote - It isn't merely her haughty demeanor that tends t odrive people away from Zhen. She has a difficult time connecting with people on an emotional level, and even when she does, she's simply not a particularly emotional person. She seems to hold herself apart, never quite engaging or attaching to anyone outside of her family and one or two close friends. She's quite capable of being polite and reasonable - there's simply a wide emotional gulf between Zhen and most of the world, and only if you're very lucky will you be able to reach her heart. As a result, she tends to not invest too deeply into others, since the odds are she won't be able to connect with them anyway.

Perfectionist - Nothing is quite good enough for Zhen, and that's especially so when it comes to other people. She demands the best of herself and of others and nothing quite measures up to her standards. This tends to leave her in a permanent state of irritation, which rears its head in the form of petty, passive-aggressive actions like straightening a co-worker's papers, cleaning up after her baby sister, redlining her brother's homework if she gets her hands on it, and otherwise subtly pointing out just where the person failed her and how. She is eternally Done with the world and its inability to meet her exacting standards.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: An orangey-amber.

Hair: A very deep dark blue, usually worn in loops and pinned in place to keep it up and out of the way, with curls that hang in front of her ears as ringlets.

Face: A small mouth set in a delicate, mostly round face.

Clothes: Usually business casual or high fashion, always in heels. Zhen outright refuses to wear flats because she's relatively short and needs (in her eyes) the height boost.
