Renshu was in the midst of organizing scrolls. The day had drifted into night, and the other scribes had long since gone home to their dens. Which worked great for him. He was more at ease by himself anyway, less scrambled and twitchy as he would normally be when surrounded by others.
He gently lifted a hide scroll up onto the rock bench that held a number of other scrolls. This one was relatively new, though that wasn't saying much with their pride only settling recently, and he wanted to make sure it was put where it needed to be.
Then he paused, ears tilting back to the entryway of the cavern he was in. He could hear paw steps heading in his direction. Not terribly surprising, since this cave was connected by many, but it still made him tense. Everyone had gone to sleep. Who was still awake at this hour?

Anza had long sense explored the outside of the pride, now she wanted to get acquainted with the lions in it. The blue goddess stretched herself out completely, back arching, hips popping before she headed toward where she knew scrolls to be. That seemed like a fun idea, seeing if she could read them. If she could, she could memorize them and potentially help recreate them if anything happened. "Helloooooo?" She called out from her tunnel so she didn't spook whoever it was that was still awake too badly. "Hello, I'm Anza, Anyone here?" Her lantern lit her path when it was too dark to see, but mostly she was fine.

Ren stared uncertainly at the entranceway, debating whether to just high-tail it or tentatively answer back. Whoever it was, they didn't sound scary, but he was pretty sure he'd get tongue-tied regardless.
As they got closer, he could see a faint blue light appear down the tunnel, and he would be lying if he said that he wasn't curious about what could be making that light. Was there anything that could? He wasn't sure.
He shifted in place as the seconds he had to make a decision ticked by, the scroll that he had been fiddling with accidentally falling down from the bench, and then finally called out, "He... Hello?"

She was starting to think maybe she was mistaken. Anza puffed a little, continuing on until she spotted the scribe before her after rounding a corner. "Oh! There you are. I was beginning to question myself.." She gave a bit of a laugh before sighing and looking around. "I'm Anza. Hello! I've come to read some of these scrolls, if I can? I don't want rules being broken or bent, so don't be afraid to tell me no." This one had sounded nervous, so the goddess was trying to come off as harmless as possible, even seeming to curl into herself.

He had to admit, a goddess was not high on his list of things he was expecting to round the corner. Oh, he knew they lived in the pride - they were often the talk of the scribes, who were more than a little curious about them - but he was too shy to actually approach any of them.
Which is why the dark female coming towards him caught him off guard. The lamp on her neck explained the blue light, at the very least, but it took him a moment to register what she said.
"O-Oh, uh...." He didn't think there were any rules against anyone looking at the scrolls. They were there to show their findings and teach others, so it would be rather counter-productive to make them off-limits. "That- that should be fine. Just be careful with them... some of them are still being worked on." His voice had slowly trailed off into a timid whisper.
He shuffled his paws for a second, before jolting with the realization that he hadn't actually introduced himself. "I-I'm Renshu. Or Ren. I've been called both." What did people normally say when they were meeting someone? He was fumbling now. "I-it's, uhm, it's nice to meet you."

She was greeted with the sight of the brown male who seemed a bit nervous or starstruck perhaps. The goddess just smiled that gentle smile at him, Renshu, he said his name was, and nodded. "I'll be gentle." With that said, she went off toward one of them and slowly started to unroll it. "Learning about this pride, how it started, is fascinating. I felt it starting a while ago, but I didn't come to explore it. It does make me a bit sad I wasn't here from the start." Her butterfly wings twitched and flapped now and again as she practically rambled at this poor male.

Ren watched her warily for a moment, before her words caught his curiosity and he couldn't help but relax just a bit. If there was one thing that could bring him out of his shell, it was discovering something new.
"You felt it?" He hadn't known that was possible. Weren't prides generally just started by a group deciding to become one? Or was that what she sensed? "That's a thing? What does that feel like? Is it like an instinct or a nudge o-or..."
And then he realized that he was just blurting questions at her when she might not want to be questioned. Ears pulling back bashfully, Renshu curled his tail around his leg and glanced down, "S-sorry! I've... I've never really talked to any gods before.... I don't- I don't know how it works."

"Oh yes, I feel things happening. It's a tingle just under my skin. Sometimes, if it's really big, or really important, I feel a tug. Then I can't control myself and just leave to go see what new thing is happening." She laughed a little and tilts her head to the side. Anza wasn't sure how else to describe the sensation. "It's warm. Always so warm and pleasant..." A giggle bubbled forth and she looked back at Ren before shaking her head. "You're fine! It's new information, I understand." She gave him a wink and just shrugged. "Do you have more questions?"

Oh, he probably had lots, but now he felt a little bit embarrassed over his outburst. He wondered what it was like, seeing time pass you by and the changes that one would witness. He wondered what she has seen. He wondered if it was lonely or if she was content with meeting so many people.
But Ren's shyness was beginning to rear it's head now, and he couldn't bring himself to ask these things.
Instead, he glanced curiously at the scroll that she was currently perusing. "Is.... there something in particular you want to read into? I-I mean, you can read what you want to, but if there's something specific, I can probably help you find it." It was difficult for him to say that last bit, not used to offering his aid for anything, but... he wanted to be helpful. And he wanted to learn how to branch out a bit more with his pride. This was probably a good way to start, with something he knew.

"No, nothing specific," the goddess said, all smiles with her voice gentle. Anza was just here to read about everything. Learning the history of the pride from before she got there was an amazing opportunity. This pride fascinated her, the leader, the nobles, it was all really nice to know about. Renshu seemed to be a shy one. Anza had met many of those before. Her wings fluttered just a little as she settled after taking a scroll carefully and slowly unrolling it. "There's no harm asking questions. It's how you understand things." Maybe the nudge would help.

Well, he had to admit that it was nice meeting someone just as interested in learning as he himself, who wasn't already a Scribe that is. Scribes were often aloof in their studies, which made it hard to really communicate with anyone. Not that he was very good at socializing anyway.
Ren shuffled on his paws, debating over her words as she read. It was true. How could he learn if he didn't ask questions? All the more reason for him to get over his shyness.
... But that was easier said than done.
Finally, with a deep breathe, Renshu edged his way quietly closer and settled somewhat near her. "Do.... do you mind if I ask questions while you read? I'll try not to- to disturb you too much. And, and if I ask anything too invasive, I'll back off."Peppermint Coffee I’m thinking we’re probably good to end this one off with your next post. 3nodding

"But of course," she replied to him. Anza had felt his curiosity bubbling up. Anyone would have questions when coming face to face with a goddess. They weren't like mortal lions. She had her own questions when she had first come down the mountain to live among the mortals. She was really glad she did. "I'll answer as best as I can."
