Takes place Feb. 9thLori has a love and hate relationship with the month of February. The only real reason she liked it at all, was for Valentine's Day. Sure, it was just some made up Holiday so some card company could up their sales for the month, but it was still a good excuse to dress up and try to have a good time. It was also a popular time for lovey, dovey photoshoots, which meant some extra work for her. While she was happy for the extra income and the thought of a blind date that was coming up, she did not like February for other things. It was one of the coldest months of the whole year and school really started to go full force this time of year. It all came together today to explain why they were out this late.
"Thanks for coming with me today." She was snuggled up with Landry to steal his warmth as they walked down the empty sidewalk on their way back to the dorms. "What did you think of the shoot today? Anyone you'd like me to introduce to you?" She gave her brother a gentle nudge in his side, she was always trying to hook him up. Not that it ever worked, how didn't want to date models? Apparently not this guy. The again, he probably knew just how...demanding they could be, considering she was one.
Between her joking and the sound of their feet as they walked, she was completely clueless that someone had been following them for a few blocks now.

Landry had a straight up hate relationship with February. While deeply rich in history and honoring those whose history shaped the world, he very much despised the frilliness of Valentine's day. He was not against love or expressing it, or couples being happy, but he did despise how busy their schedule got at this time of year. Between it being mid semester at school, and everyone and their mother's wanting Lori for one shot or ad or another, he found it hard at times to find a moment to breathe.
He did, however, love the cold, and the excuse to bundle up tight, hiding his face behind a thick scarf and feeling cozy even if heat escaped from the top of his head as he refused to do anything to mess up his hair. His sister seemed to enjoy just how warm he was, for she snuggled up right to him, and he naturally put an arm about her shoulders.
"Of course. It was a couple shout, and I wasn't about to let those handy models get too chummy. Remember the last time that happened? It wasn't good." Eyebrows raised at the question... Well, the photographer was cute, and so was the director of the shoot, but no one really caught his eye for more than a passing glance. "No... No one comes to mind. But do you remember that strange man who was there he was staring pretty hard at us today. Freaked me the hell out, I swear. Maybe he was a stalker or something, since security removed him after a while."
It wasn't the first time creeps showed up around them, but this time that man just wouldn't go away.. Even now Landry could swear he felt eyes on them. And before he could say anything else, feet came up quick behind him and grabbed him, mid turn. Heavy hands pulled him from his sister, knife posed to his throat already as he was half dragged away.
"LORI RUN!!"

Cavansite had never been much for compassion. At least not until fairly recently and now the fact that she seemed to have found her heart was a pain in the butt. Or the chest. Or…whatever. She had never thought herself a hero, not at any point in her life, in fact, until very recently, she had thought her dearest ambition was just to be the super villain that she had come to adore.
She was a frightening thing. A Negaverse General all power and fury in one stylish package and…
And yet, when she heard the panicked shout she moved towards the disturbance. And…it wasn’t even just out of curiosity, she wasn’t just going to see what trouble was going on without her…she felt…
Concerned.
Well, slightly concerned at least.
Perched on a roof that provided a great view of whatever was going on, the General watched as some…creepy man began to drag one of the…well. For lack of a better word, kids away, a knife held to their throat.
For a moment a flash of anger overtook the General and she stood, scowling. This was a waste of resources. A waste of life, a waste of two perfectly good starseeds and…
And they were both in danger.
For the briefest moment, Cavansite’s vision swam before her, though it stopped when she shook her head roughly. What a time to lose focus. She didn’t have the time for this.
Swiftly, the General leapt from the building and teleported right behind the attacker, her hand slipping into his chest easily, removing the crystallized source of his life and scoffing. “Filth.”
The starseed was consumed without a second thought. Heroes didn’t eat souls, and she was no hero. She would never allow herself to fall so far. Slowly though, her gaze moved towards the two and the words tumbled out before she could stop them. “You two all right?”

Her brother had always been the protective type. There was nothing happening around them that he didn't catch on to. If she was being honest, she couldn't really recall the man that had been thrown out at the shoot that day. She didn't have time to focus on anything but the camera and her partner for the day. Distractions would not be tolerated and knowing that Landry was there was a comfort to her. She knew the staff around her would take care of things as well.
"Seems security did the right thing, I wouldn't be too concerned about it." She didn't think of herself as popular enough to have a stalker. Those were things earned by real stars, which she certainly was not. Sure, she could act like it at time, but she wasn't totally out of touch with reality to believe she was that big of a deal. The occasional creep could show up at a shoot, but usually staff or Landry were enough to keep them at bay. Which is why she was totally unprepared for the sounds of of quickening feet coming their way. It was probably just someone jogging. In the middle of the night. Yeah, that had to be it.
Landry on the other hand was more alert. As he started to turn, so did she, but her free hand was reaching into her purse. She had a keychain with some mace attached. However, she wasn't quick enough to reach it before her twin was yanked from her arms. The action alone was forceful enough to cause her to stumble, her purse slipped from her shoulder and spilled out on the ground. Countless make-up products hit the ground, her phone screen splintered as it bounced off the sidewalk, and her keys laid there taunting her as she turned to see her brother with a knife to his throat.
It all happened so fast. Reality came crashing down around her as she stared at what was going on. Was she seriously just told to run? Run away from the only person that had kept her sane over the years. Landry was the last thread of hope left in her. If this was how it was going to end, how could she let him go alone.
"P-please...." Her voice was shaking, she couldn't get any words out. It was too late to call out for help, she doubted anyone would hear them. They were surrounded by business at the moment, already closed for the night. She was praying in her head for someone to come. She didn't have time to be picky about who it was either. "Anyone, no matter the price." And then, like a quickly answered pray someone was behind the man. She couldn't quite process what had happened. Their attacker slumped down to the ground and Landry was free. She ran to him faster than she thought she could, wrapping her arms around him and crying into his shoulder.
In between her sobbing she managed a few sloppy 'thank you's for whoever had saved them. Orangeish Sherbert Sorry for my reaaaaaally bad lateness, it's perfect!

In those brief moments Landry was held against that man, blade scraping threateningly against his throat, he panicked. His face, while normally stone and if anything annoyed, showed a deep fear, horror shown plain as he watched Lori stumble and near fall.
His life didn't matter, he couldn't care less whether or not he perished, but Lori didn't deserve this. There was so much hate in his chest for the world, hate at this a*****e taking advantage of them, of threatening him and his sister. He hated the world that such assholes existed in. And he hated that he was so ******** weak to fight against this wretched man. In what he thought was his final moments, he squeezed his eyes shut, hoping that his death would allow Lori just enough time to get out of there safe.
And yet death never came for him.
The arms that held him fast grew slack, and in the next moment, he felt Lori's arms around him. Immediately his clung to her, his breath finally catching up with him.
"Lori, you're alright..." It was a soft whisper, each word shaking, fingers trembling as the reality of the situation hit him harder and harder. But they were alive. Only a few seconds were spared for him to gather his wits before he pulled away slightly from his sobbing sister to look up to their savior.
"Like she said... Thank you..." Eyes gazed briefly at the man sprawled ungracefully on the ground, crumpled like the filthy trash he was, then returned to the woman who stood over them. "What did you do to him...?"

Cavansite watched the two for a long moment, and while she toyed with the idea of just leaving…she remained. Even going so far as to kick away the corpse of their would be attacker and reaching over to gently tousle the blonde girl’s hair. “There now. Don’t cry. You are both safe, do you think I’d like something happen to you?”
Her voice was surprisingly gentle, on the verge of being soothing even. It was not what she wanted to sound like.
She was not a hero.
“You two can repay me, if you’d like. Or, even if you don’t want to think of it as repayment…think of it as me giving you the power to save yourselves next time. Would you like that?”
Her eyes found those of the boy’s, and there was a grim smile on her face. “Don’t you want to have the power to protect her next time? To protect Lori?” Cavansite assumed that was the girl’s name. She wasn’t quite sure what his name was but…she could learn that later.
The energy from the consumed starseed was beginning to flow through her system and it gave her the reckless idea that she could do two corruptions tonight. Maybe even both at once if she wanted.
“What do you two have to loose, chickadees. Come join with me and protect each other. Protect all of those who deserve it.”
She smiled suddenly and looked as dangerous as she was. “And destroy all of those who don’t.”

Lori was still catching her breath, it was comforting still to feel the pat on her head. Even if it was from a stranger. Her words gave her the courage to stop her tears, look up and make sure Landry was really okay. That had been a very close call. It would have been the end of her, to lose her brother to something so awful. The was a little cut, but that was all. Barely a scratch.
She turned around a bit, to get a better look at their rescuer. She was dressed rather curiously, but there wasn't much time to focus on that. Instead, Lori hung on her every word.
It was too good of a deal, there was no way Landry would turn down an opportunity like this. Not after everything that had happened. Still, she looked over to him. He knew her answer as well. With power of her own, maybe he'd have a chance to relax for a change.
Then, the looked down at the limp body for their attacker. It had been all too easy for her to end him, so he couldn't do any harm again. Lori wanted that power, the power to stand against those who would dare to mess with her family. It was a few years too late for her to save her parents, but it wasn't too late for her and Landry.
"Let's do it."

Landry hardly liked the way this woman spoke to them. She sounded almost too good to be true, promises of power to protect themselves from trash like the man who lied lifelessly on the ground. He didn't trust her, Hell, he simply wanted to stand up, call 911, and rush Lori home before they were wrapped up in anything else this evening.
Yet before he could say anything, Lori spoke up first, jumping at the opportunity to get that power to protect them. Not that he could blame her for it. Thoughts of their family and how so many had already been ripped away from them must have pushed her to such an immediate answer, and, honestly, he could not simply let her sell her soul or whatever it was that this woman was after alone.
"I will take this power too, but before we go any further, what is the price? What would you ask from us for such strength like you mentioned? It cannot be for free, and it cannot simply be just 'as a repayment'. What would you have us do for you?"
Orangeish Sherbert And surprise~! It's not 6 months later!

The poor frightened girl was so willing, so eager to do what she said, she liked that. It made her feel suddenly protective of her, and for a moment, Cavansite wanted nothing more than to take the girl into her arms and comfort all of her tears away but…
That could come later.
That would come later.
Her eyes slid towards the boy, asking the right questions, not being so rash. Good. That would serve him well, and it almost reminded her of Laurence. It was cute. These two would do nicely.
“The price, chickadees is that you will listen to me. It’s not so difficult. You will join our organization. You would take care of scum like that, you will collect the energy of the people of the city, you will fight those who call themselves the White Moon. Those who fight against us. Those who call us the villains. If you think about it, it’s not a difficult price to pay at all…and the promise the both of you have…well. I simply can’t take no for an answer and you have both said yes already so…”
The general reached out and softly stroked Lori’s face, smiling almost tenderly at the girl. “No more tears now, but I apologize, there will be some pain. There was for me too, when this happened.”
She moved swiftly then, moving at once, slipping a hand into each of their chests and tenderly gripping both starseeds. Cavansite had never tried to do two at once…but…
Carefully she tried with Lori first, working to fill the starseed with chaos as she had done half a dozen times already.
But something was wrong.
It wasn’t taking.
Frowning slightly, Cavansite turned her head to the boy and focused her energy, trying the same, but again she was thwarted. “…You two aren’t hiding something from me, are you?”
Her voice was suddenly smooth, almost dangerous. “You wouldn’t lie to me about what you are…would you?”
If they were agents already…or senshi…
…Or senshi.
Perhaps that could be the issue.
“Perhaps…I will need some assistance in awakening the two of you.”
Her hands were withdrawn from their chests and she pulled her tablet out, typing furiously.
When the redheaded General Queen arrived, she looked delighted and nodded for Cavansite to try again. Once more, the General slid her hands into the teenagers’s chests, while the General Queen slid hers into their backs, and together, two new Corrupted Senshi were born. With a nod, the Sovereign left.
And they were perfect.
As Cavansite gazed at them, she looked proud, even if she felt more than a little guilty. “Well. You two were more special than I thought.”
She reached out again, placing a hand onto the girl’s cheek. “Welcome home, my darlings.”
She had no idea what they were the senshi of but...that was something that could be found out easily with a quick trip to Negaspace.

Lori hadn't even considered that this might not be the wisest decision. She simply saw a chance to better protect her family and jumped at it. Landry was always looking out for her, in so many ways, it would be nice to return the favor. He did ask a smart question, but she wasn't as concerned with the mysterious woman's reply as she probably should have been.
One hand held on to her brother's and the other reached up to brush against the hand that touched her face for that brief moment. She hadn't been expecting any pain in this process, but somehow that touch was enough to calm her down. To prepare for what was about to happen. That and well, Landry's hand would probably be sore for a few days after this.
There was a gasp at first, but she gritted though the pain, squeezing Landry's hand even has his squeezed her's. There was a small problem though. It had hurt, but when she pulled away nothing had changed.
She had too take a few deep breaths before she could reply. "If I had a way to stop what was happening before, I wouldn't have stood there like an idiot." A small bit of annoyance creeped into her voice. She had promised pain and power, not just pain. Though, it seemed like she was one step ahead of her answer and she glanced over at her twin for some reassurance suddenly. This was the right thing to do, right?
It wasn't long after she pulled out what Lori could only assume was some kind of communicator, that someone else showed up. If Lori had thought their Savior had been someone powerful to begin with, she didn't know what to think of this new person. Without much of a warning this time, the process began again. Somehow more painful, probably because that meant whatever they were doing was actually working this time.
It wasn't until she opened her eyes that she realized they had closed. But, when she did, a whole new world of senses came to her. She could feel the 'power', she would call it, of the women in front and behind her, as well as that of her twin beside her.
She could tell they were nothing compared to the other two, but still she could feel her own power. And it felt wonderful.

Deep down, Landry didn't want this. To 'serve' someone? To blindly obeay orders like some dog? No, he didn't want any of this. And a somewhat hateful glare was turned towards Lori who gave in so easily like the idiot she was. He loved the girl, but moments like this, moments where she seemed to basically 'sell their souls' in favor of power without thinking stewed a hefty amount of resentment towards her.
Another choice was stolen from him. And he hated it.
There wasn't another chance to protest, that ******** woman shoved her hand into his chest and did something, something that obviously failed and left him gasping in pain for a long moment. Then some other redheaded person appeared, and that pain appeared again, enough to make him retch the moment he was let go.
Power was there, yes, as was the rage that quickly built up inside of him.
"What the hell did you do?!" He gasped, reaching out to smack the General's hand away from Lori, trusting her even less than before. But the girl beside him didn't exactly seem like Lori. She was there, right next to him as before, but something was different... Her clothes, her hair. A quick look down and he looked at his own clothes that had changed, and the heavy amount of hair that was pulling at the back of his head.
"Home my ******** a**, what did you do to us?!" A dirty glare was shot over to 'Lori', threatening her, telling her that for 'once', please keep her mouth shut and let him get some information out of this. It was bad enough she went forward without further explanation, but he felt like he could lash out at her if she pissed him off any further.
It was bad enough he was deprived of making a well-thought out choice, he wouldn't dare let her let this a*****e leave without saying anything else.

Cavansite was mighty glad that the General Queen had left before the male started his sudden and utterly unexpected outburst, and for a moment, the General almost shoved her hand back in and delivered punishment. Perhaps she should have. Perhaps he would have made a better youma than a senshi…and she knew that she was at least capable of that.
She forced a smile though and watched the boy with his little outburst with no real sign of annoyance, save for a gleam that made her eyes look like that of a predator seeking the kill.
“The two of you were more special than I had first thought. You were both senshi, those that are normally fighting on the other side of this war, and lucky for the both of you, I managed to find you before any sort of annoying cat did to set you up for utter failure.”
er fingers stroked the girl’s cheek and then fell away. “We have guardian cats among our own ranks, and If you would both come with me, I can get you your names, and what your powers are. You two both have access to magical abilities, which again, the cat will be able to further instruct you on. Now, before we go, are there any other questions? You won’t have to stay like this forever, you’ll be able to transform at will once we get everything sorted back in my office.”
Cavansite hesitated. “I apologize for having to cause you twice the pain. I can’t awaken senshi on my own. I’m not strong enough at my current rank. Only those who are of a higher power than I may do so. Which is why I had to call for the help. That was one of our great General Queens, the head of my Special Operations branch. I’ll introduce you some time if you’d wish it.”

Lori hadn't exactly been prepared for her twins outburst either. She looked at him concerned, this was what they had wanted right? The ability to fight for each other. If it meant she had to take out a few other pesky ants at the same time, she was fine with that. Fine with listening to someone that would take care of them. Thinking back on it though, she hadn't given her brother much of a choice. So when he protested and shot her 'that look', she kept her mouth quiet.
Though, she did stretch out her fingers, glance down at her shoes, and play with her much longer hair a bit out of nerves. She couldn't quite make eye contact with Cavansite while she dealt with her brothers' ire. She didn't really quite grasp what it meant to be different from Cavansite, but still on the same team.
And yes it had hurt, more then expected, but there was always a cost when someone was given power. It never came for free. For Lori, she was very willing to pay that price. Especially if it saved her from a lot of pain further down the road. She finally looked up when Cavansite reached out to her and a small smile lit up her face. Though it was followed by a blush and a glance toward her twin. What she said probably didn't reassure him too much.
"What's done is done. We ought to at least follow through with things tonight." She didn't want Cavansite to think she was just bailing now that she had this power, but she also didn't want to upset 'Landry' anymore then he already was. This was going to be an argument for them later, but she hoped he would understand why she had jumped the gun the way she had. It had all just been instinct for her. She never really thought about anything for as long as she probably should.

The rage inside of 'Landry' refused to die down, but he did manage to wrangle it into quiet.
Lori didn't care about what was happening, did she? No, she got the power she wanted, let this monster touch her more than once as if this was something she was all for.
Who knows, maybe it was? Lori did enjoy dragging him about like a mindless doll every now and then, and he was just as guilty for not speaking up more about what she did, about what she often forced him into.
"Fine." He wouldn't say any more. Instead he stood up, grabbing Lori by her arm to heft her up as well with less strength than he thought he would have needed. Whatever the night had further in store for them, he was certain by the end of it he'd tell Lori off at least once.
Alone.

Cavansite watched the two for a long moment, her eyes lingering on the boy for just a few seconds longer and with a slight nod and a sigh, she reached out her hands, placing one on each of the senshi’s shoulders.
“I know you are confused. I know this is a lot to take in, but you will get used to everything, I promise you. I’m not a General who lets her recruits be without guidance. You can count on me. Rely on me. I am your ally.”
And with that, she teleported them both into Negaspace, eager to find a cat and figure out just what sort of sesnshi she had brought into her life.
