Another Valentines day spent alone.

Spent alone eating ice cream.

Spent alone eating ice cream on the couch while watching bad movies.

Perhaps Lavender would be able to coin this into some great ritual. The true way to spend the most overrated holiday in history. At least she wasn’t crying all the time now. Ever since getting sick at Rhona’s house…and all of whatever had happened…Lavender had pulled away from most things.
She had changed her phone number the day after the incident so she would have no way of contacting her ex, and for the fact that her ex would have no way of contacting her…not that she thought Rhona ever would. Obviously nothing she did would have ever been good enough for the curly haired…

Jerk.

Lavender sighed, adjusting her position on the couch so her foot was under her legs a bit more. It was cold. Her apartment was kind of chilly…and perhaps she should close the window that she had cracked open…but she had just been so warm earlier and…

The cold felt nice.

Speaking of the cold…

Lavender stole a glance towards where she had stashed her henshin pen. Honestly, she was most likely giving up the whole thing as a bad job…or she wanted to give it up as a bad job, though…at the same time…she did like it. She liked how she felt powerful. Beautiful. How she seemed as though she could do anything while she was powered up.

Idly, she ran a hand through her hair, cut short now to grow back out in one piece again. She was almost tired of being edgy…maybe if she stopped trying to be cool…she’d find someone who was worth loving.

The thought almost made her laugh out loud. It was something that didn’t make an ounce of sense but…whatever.

It had been a month and a half now since she had bothered to be social with anyone…and while it was nice…it was kind of exhausting too. She hadn’t even seen Levi…and she missed her brother, she realized that now. She missed people. Not…not all people. But some people.

Perhaps…perhaps tonight she would go out. Go drain some energy from some happy couples…be a real jerk.

A thin smile curled its way across her face and Lavender watched the couple in the movie get their happy ending, and it annoyed her. They didn’t deserve it. She liked another guy through literally eighty percent of the movie and…now she was with his brother? It made no sense at all.

Quietly, she stood up, turning the television off with the click of a button and padded over to the open window, glancing out at the darkening city, and closing it with a soft thump.

Well…it was a nice night at least. Cold. Dark.

Perhaps it was time for Chione to make a reappearance…if only for a few hours…how long had it really been since she had contributed to the court? Ages and ages…and tonight seemed like a good night to at least begin to ease back into the swing of things…and maybe…

Maybe her happy ending would come too.

One day.
