Since the beginning of time, good and evil have battled for influence over the world. Angels and Demons are a prime example of this. Heaven and Hell are two completely different worlds that hold two completely different views on just about everything. But what should happen if a little boy and a little girl, from these two opposing factions should meet? And what would happen if they fell in love? Is such a thing even possible? Well here is their story. Two souls who chose to open their hearts to each other; Will they be entwined forever, or ripped apart by fate?
Caelum took a deep breath as he quickly darted through the shadows. It was late evening, as he snuck out, past the giant pearly gates, and descended through the beautiful starlit skies, to Earth. Ah, Earth, a technically neutral territory between parties. The angel gave a happy sigh. This was the perfect place, the perfect place to meet her. After all, he had first spotted her during one of his many trips here, to watch over the people. That beautiful smile of hers had caused him to forget what he was even there for. His heart skipped a beat as he neglected his duties to stare at the beautiful demon before him. After awhile he finally mustered the courage to speak with her. It was a bit awkward at first, but that was how it all started. It had taken some convincing on his part, but he had finally gotten the wonderful Jaqueline to agree to meet him again. After all, their relationship was sort of a taboo. But finally, finally she had said yes! And so today would be their first date!
He ran faster and faster with excitement, heading through a forest, towards an open meadow filled with dazzling flowers. He had chosen this spot for their picnic. That way they would be alone…together. He blushed at the thought. They could stargaze, and talk, and just enjoy being in one another’s presence. But most of all, hopefully no one would find them here.

Jaqueline snuck around the place she called home, it was difficult to get anywhere without someone picking up the word that she was leaving. It was a difficult process, she had made frequent trips to Earth to see what the people of Earth were doing. Most of the people that had come to her domain after their life was over had done so much bad and would be rejected from Heaven because of their deeds. But, at the same time she enjoyed people watching and seeing what good deeds counter acted the bad deeds. In those many trips she had got a glimpse of a handsome angel. That also had made trips to Earth and over the course of time and years she had grown a little more then fond of him. She couldn't admit when she was home, but she was pretty sure her heart was telling her she was falling in love with him. She was glad he had built up the courage to ask her out on their date and it was exciting and invigorating, but she knew in her heart that their relationship was taboo. If anyone caught them they would be in so much trouble and she couldn't live with herself if that happened.
She slowly made her way towards the meadow of their meeting place, ahh she had butterflies in her tummy and she was worried they would get caught, but Caelum had assured her that they wouldn’t. She was looking forward to spending some alone time with him, I mean it was hard to do during her day job but when it came down to it, afterwards was the one part she looked forward too, but she was sure that when their eyes met on their trips to Earth they couldn’t do anything. In truth, their relationship was considered unrequited to her.

Caelum came to a stop in the meadow, and set down the basket of snacks he was carrying with him. He waited patiently for her to appear; he would wait forever if he had too. But he knew she’d be there. She had promised. And if this all worked well, then perhaps they really could stay together…forever. His cheeks turned pink again at the thought. But if they couldn’t be together, well he didn’t really want to consider that. Even if it meant hiding it from his parents, even if he had to run away, he still wanted to be with Jaqueline.
When she appeared in the meadow, the angel could help but stare. She was very lovely, and to Caelum, she was different than most other demons. Before he had thought them to be only repulsive and hateful beings, but that was completely untrue. If other angels would simply open their hearts to other demons, perhaps there would be no need to fight each other all the time.
He waved her over, with a smile plastered on his face. He couldn’t help but grin. He was so very happy to see her!

Jaqueline came to a stop at the edge of the meadow looking around instinctively making sure they weren’t being watched. She was quietly praying that her parents wouldn’t ask her why she made so many excursions to Earth. The more she lingered at the edge of the meadow the more it made her nervous that they would get caught. She took a breath in and blew it out, before heading towards the blue-eyed angel that was waving her over. As she made her way towards him her speed picked up and soon enough she was at a running pace, hopefully if she jumped he would catch her. She was still a little weary that they would get caught but she was determined to stay with him, even if that caused unrest and potential a war. As she got closer to him she jumped and gave him a very affectionate hug.
“Caelum! I ‘am really happy to see you” she said to him enthusiastically before nuzzling into his neck affectionately. “I ‘am still very weary about this, but I trust we should be okay” she told him before looking down at the basket he had brought “did you pack this yourself?” she asked.

As Jaqueline raced toward Caelum, he offered her open arms. He reached out, catching her as she leapt toward him. He pulled her close, resting his chin on her head as he held her in a long embrace. “I’m so glad to see you too,” he whispered, gently stroking her hair. He knew if they were found out, they’d be in trouble. But right now, he was just ecstatic to see her. Finally, with a little sigh, he pulled away. “You must not worry yourself. We’ll be alright!” he said with confidence. He took her hand and bowed. “I will protect my princess no matter what.” He smiled again, which quickly turned to another blush when she asked her next question. “Ah y-yes. I did pack it myself. I hope you like it.”
With that he pulled out an over-sized blanket, and spread it on the grass. He gestured for her to sit down with him.

Jaqueline smiled at him as he caught her “I hope it wasn’t too much of a trouble to get here” she told him “I’m just excited for our first date” she said happily enjoying his embrace a minute longer, the embrace was warm, loving and affectionate. “I will take your word on that” she eagerly said kissing him on the cheek. She blushed as he called her his princess, she was curious to know what he had packed for them. She waited for him to lay out the blanket.
After he had laid out the blanket she plopped down on it, getting comfortable. “What did you pack for us today?” she asked him.

Caelum sat next to Jaqueline as he unloaded the basket. “Well we have a lot of choices.” The basket was full of all sorts of sandwiches, juice cartons, and best of all sweets. The young angel was very proud of his attempt at making the perfect picnic.
As they sat, Caelum let Jaqueline lean against him. They talked for what seemed like forever, about all sorts things. They laughed together, long into the night. And for a moment it seemed like nothing would get in their way. But as the sun started to creep up further and further into the sky, a loud thundering boom was heard! Caelum leapt to his feet at the first sign of danger. What could that sound have been? Had they been found out?
Sure enough, in a cloud of smoke on one side of the couple, a hoard of demons appeared. And the other side, six winged soldiers on horseback appeared from Heaven.
Caelum bit his lip. This was not good, not good at all.

Jaqueline squeaked and jumped away from Caelum as the demons and angels appeared. She bit her lip nibbling a little oh…. their first date was a completely failure. That just made her heart break. She glanced at Caelum and then back at their respective people. She was certain they wanted an explanation to why she was spending time with an angel when it was forbidden to. She wasn’t sure how to explain it. She could tell them the truth that she was in love with an angel would only make matters worse and cause a never-ending war between their two races. She and Caelum would never get their happy ending if this was how it was going to be. She stepped back towards Caelum holding his hand “Caelum…. what should we do?” she asked him.

Caelum held back onto Jaqueline’s hand; gripping it tightly. He didn’t really want to have to fight anyone, but with the way things looked, they might not have a choice. It was that or…they could try and run? But that seemed awfully risky. “Don’t worry Princess. I’ll fight for what is right!” He summoned a small, shimmering light, which quickly transformed into a sword. He swung it with his free hand, trying to get the soldiers from both armies to back away. He wouldn’t let go of Jaqueline, no matter what. “Leaves us alone,” he growled.
One of the other angels got off his horse, and proceeded to walk towards Caelum and Jaqueline. “I’ll handle this,” he announced, before summoning a sword of his own, and swinging it back at Caelum.
“There is no need. We’ll handle this,” a demon said, interrupting the fight. He reached out, dodging Caelum’s sword, and grabbing a hold of Jaqueline’s arm.
“Get out of our way!” the angel soldier hissed.
It was obvious both angels and demons weren’t going to work together here.

Jaqueline yelped as a demon grabbed her arm and pulled her away from Caelum their hands separating at the force “Noooo!! Caelumm!!!” she yelled her heart hurting as they got separated. Her eyes started to tear up. She didn’t want to be separated from him, not after they went through so much together to get to where they were now on top of that she didn’t want him hurt. She wasn’t sure what she could do to defend their love, she was still learning her skills. With her free hand she let out a small explosion between the demon that was holding her and herself. But only long enough for her to run back to Caelum only to get caught yet again from another demon in the process of getting to him.

Caelum cried out as he heard Jaqueline yell his name. His eyes were beginning to fill with tears. He reached out to grab her hand again. But in that moment, the angel soldier behind him took hold of Caelum and began using sealing magic to tie down Caelum’s wings and prevent him from using magic.
As Caelum struggled against his attacker, the other demons began to haul his princess away.
Tears streamed down Caelum’s face as he watched them take his love away. No, it couldn’t end like this! Or would it? He could feel his strength begin to be sapped away. But before the darkness took him, he could barely make out his princess reaching towards him, before she was pulled back to the depths of Hell

After that fateful night, the two souls that had fallen in love were imprisoned in their respective realms. Now the question remains will they forever be separated or will the red string of destiny bring them back together...
