Sherwood was patrolling in the park, as usual. She'd opted out of having her boyfriend come with her tonight, or even her brother. She wanted to be alone and enjoy the night for what it was. It was cold, but a little cold she could handle. Sure, her uniform could have come with a coat, but that would have been horrible to endure in summer. Anyway, she was having fun staring at the stars through the limbs of the bare trees. The night was clear, without clouds and the stars were highly visible.
She felt another signature on the outer edges of her senses, coming toward her. It was an Order signature so she wasn't immediately on guard. Despite the bad things that had happened to her, she still liked to give people the benefit of the doubt when she could. Besides, in theory they were on the same side and would definitely get along.
Moving toward it, she smiled as a figure came into sight.
"Hello there!" She waved. "I'm Sherwood!'
She came up in front of them and offered her hand, grinning in a friendly way. The Squire had her bow draped over her shoulders to be close at hand but otherwise had nothing on her that could be threatening. She wasn't all that tough, or mean looking. She was just a cheerful artist, spunky and happy.
"It's nice to meet you!"

ZaiaFantasy Sorry about the wait! I'll have that start to you today as well~ Gravina was happily sitting on a park bench, looking up at the night sky with reverence. The sky was where mother came from on that fateful night. (one of them, anyway - Gravina was lucky enough to have two!) Manu, his near-constant companion, was busy a block or so away, gathering some snacks for their patrol. In the meantime, the Cosmos knight was asked to keep watch. Luckily for all of them, no Chaos signatures strayed too close. Was it because he was a Knight? Was he that scary? He didn't have much time to ponder such things, because, before he knew it, a Squire clad in green had approached him. Gravina seemed confused at first, watching Sherwood's hand for a moment before grasping it gently. The Cosmos' handshake would be considered pitiful by most, but he truly meant well by it. "O-oh! Hello, Sherwood. It's... It's nice to see you! Um... I don't think I've met a Squire that wore so much green..." Tilting his head at her, it was obvious he did not recognize the symbol of Earth. "I... like your bow? Are you by yourself tonight? OH!" Blushing, Gravina smoothed out a wrinkle in his shirt, standing to be more polite. "...my name is Gravina. It's very nice to meet you!"

Sherwood was happy to meet just about anyone. She was just that kind of a girl. She didn't mind the light handshake, having learned not to judge new people too harshly because you never know what they're going through. She certainly didn't want anyone to judge her for the things she'd done because almost dying had put her into a PTSD tailspin that had taken her a long time to recover from. She was back now, with support, and was finding a good life waiting for her. She was lucky, all things considered.
She gave him a somewhat confused look. Most people recognized her straight off, at least what planet she came from. He didn't seem to know which was odd, considering that he seemed to be a full knight himself. She would have thought someone that high up in the ranks would know how to tell the different planets apart. He was a Cosmos knight, she knew, because she'd met Eden and he looked similar to her, at least in coloring.
"Well, that makes sense cause I'm an Earth Knight. Mama Shalott has some green in her uniform. Papa Camelot doesn't, but maybe that's because he's a Royal Knight and not just a regular knight."
She sometimes had the tendency to talk too much with new people, but that was only because she was naturally very friendly and forthcoming. Also, she was probably born without an inner edit button which was probably both a blessing and a curse. She knew she'd annoyed more than one person with her talking.
"I'm alone. My boyfriend decided to stay in but that's ok. I met you, didn't I?" She grinned. "Have you ever met an Earth knight before?"

"...Earth Knight... Oh, thank you. Who are Mama Shalott and Papa Camelot? Are they your parents?" Gravina was painfully aware that he was missing a huge swath of information, but did nothing to hide it. Hiding his ignorance would be akin to lying, which was something the Cosmos knight was vehemently against. Instead, he chose to embrace his ignorance and learn as much as he could from the one who called herself Sherwood. Royal Knight was a term he'd never heard before, either. "Royal? Like... like Cosmos?" If that was the case, Camelot would be a real blessing to anyone in the position Gravina found himself in just six months prior. "That's wonderful, then. I hope he can help many people. I'm very grateful for Cosmos. She's lovely, but... I haven't met anyone else who is like her. I hope he's kind." Clasping his hands together, the Cosmos Knight just seemed happy to simply be. He shook his poofy head in response to Sherwood's question. "No, you're definitely the first Earth Knight I've ever met. So much green! It's really lovely. I like your bow. I haven't met too many knights, really, so... Would you be a friend to me, Sherwood? I'd really appreciate it. I've met... oh, what was Michel..." Looking down and somewhere to the left of Sherwood's leg, trying to concentrate on the memory of Michel. He'd only met the knight one time, and the impression was faint. So long ago... "...hmm... he wore purple, and had a... big spear, maybe? S-something like that. Oh, I'm afraid I don't remember too well. He's Malus' friend. It's fuzzy up there, sometimes. I'm sorry."

"No, not actually, but kind of? I mean, Papa Camelot saved my life once and he's really good with the advice and those glares. You know, when he's like super annoyed with you but doesn't say so because he's too nice? Yeah, those."
She laughed, thinking he would probably not be thrilled with this description if he'd heard it. She was thankful he hadn't, then. The truth was he was kind of dad to everyone with the sage advice and the protecting. She gave Gravina a pleased look, happy to be of some use to someone that presumably of higher rank than she was. She'd get there eventually, maybe with shorter sleeves.
"Mama Shalott is a lot like Papa Camelot, but with more hugs. They're married, you know."
At his question she had to stop and think about it because she honestly still wasn't very clear about what a Royal Knight was, other than a more powerful knight. She didn't know where he fell in line with the Royal senshi or even General Kings and Queens. She'd never met a Royal anything else but Camelot so he was really all she had to go by.
"You should meet him, you really should. Him or Mama Shalott. They both really helped me when I was struggling. And maybe you can meet my brother Newgrange or my boyfriend Neckar, but he's a senshi and not a knight."
She nodded when he talked about meeting other people. She didn't know know any of them by name and gave him a helpless shrug, shaking her head. His question made her entire face light up even more, if that was possible, and she beamed at him with open, honest joy.
"Of course I will!" She honestly just wanted to love everyone and gave him a big hug. "I'd love to be your friend. I could always use more of those. Everyone could, don't you think?"

Gravina nodded slowly, understanding the idea of having a father, but never having experienced such a thing himself. "He sounds very nice, Sherwood. I'm sure he loves you very much. I'm sure he's proud that this... kinda-of-daughter is a Squire, right? I'm sure he wouldn't want you to get hurt, so... please be careful, okay?" Mama Shalott and Papa Camelot would probably be very upset if something happened to their dear Sherwood! Having a big family was something Gravina could relate to, and he really should keep trying to meet new people as much as possible. Sherwood's cheerful chatter had him nodding along in affirmation. "Um... to be honest, I've never met anyone like Cosmos aside from... well, Cosmos, but if you say Papa Camelot and Mama Shalott are very nice, then..." Then maybe Camelot can help other people like them, people trapped in youma bodies. Nodding again, the Cosmos knight smiled gently. "...I'd like to meet them, I think. If... if that's okay with you, of course." The hug was returned gratefully - Gravina was a very touch-oriented person now that he had real skin. Sherwood was warm and her embrace was firm, but kind. "...um... probably! I really appreciate it, Sherwood. Thank you. Do you..." The Cosmos knight pondered for a moment. "...do you think... Papa Camelot wouldn't... mind someone like me?"

"I think so. He's never said it, I might annoy him sometimes, but he stopped me from being killed by General Painite."
She thought about Camelot and his kind jade eyes and that annoyed look her got with her sometimes, but mostly how much she cared about him. For better or worse he let her into his life and she'd pretty much stayed there, forming a bond with him and his wife. She sort of wished she knew him in the real world, but usually they kept things mostly professional. Well, friendly, but you know, in costume. When Gravina guessed she was a Squire she beamed and nodded, looking down at her costume.
"That's me! I thought maybe when I grew into a Squire these sleeves would get a little shorter but that got longer, can you believe it?"
She held up the dangling sleeve that fell quite a bit further than her wrist and often got in the way when she was trying to do anything at all. It got tangled up with everything and more than anything else she was hoping that when she became a knight once and for all it would shorten.
"I'll talk to them about meeting you. They like almost everyone."
She was a little confused when he seemed hesitant. He looked normal enough to her and Camelot loved all knights. He also took care of Merlinite, a half youma, not that a lot of people knew that but she did. Puff was her friend.
"What do you mean people like you?"

The growth that someone experienced when first awakening had passed over Gravina, as far as he knew. Gravina did not know what it was like to be a Page or a Squire. He was born a Knight and would remain so. He didn't mind one bit, but often wondered what his outfit might have looked like had he been born a human from the start. Tilting his head at Sherwood, the Knight pondered his options. Lying was certainly off the table, for Gravina couldn't bring himself to lie to anyone. It made him nauseated. On the other hand, disseminating his true history through the ranks of Order could potentially do more harm than good. Gravina didn't wish for any harm to befall someone like Sherwood, simply for knowing the truth about the Cosmos Knight. Worry furrowed his brow and he sighed deeply, pulling at the hem of the wrap around his shoulders. "Camelot sounds... like a very nice man. Um... but, I'm not sure he'd like... someone who wasn't always a Knight. You see, um... I was... part of the Negaverse, once. A long time ago. I'm very thankful not to be part of it anymore, but... I worry that people won't like me very much, because of it. I hope you don't mind, Sherwood."

"You were part of the Negaverse?"
Her voice was hushed with awe and she looked at him again as if seeing him for the first time. She reached out to touch his shoulder before drawing her hand back quickly and grinning, realizing she was acting like an idiot. She took a step back to give him his space again and offered him a reassuring smile. He still looked like a good guy and felt like one so that was enough for her to give him her trust. She was a trusting girl at the end of the day.
"Actually, I think he'd love you! He's all about trying to convert more people to our side. He's even trying to help Merlinite and he's half a youma, you know."
She froze, frowning suddenly.
"Oh! Pretend I didn't tell you that. I don't know if I was supposed to since he's in trouble with the Negaverse and all for ditching that side."
It went without saying that if he met Camelot to please not tell her that she told him about the secret youma he was protecting. She loved Puff, in her own way. He was always nice to her and let her joke with him. Anyway, she went around adopting people and it seemed like Gravina was going to be no exception.
"You can probably meet my brother Newgrange and my boyfriend. He's a senshi, though, not a knight."

Gravina fidgeted. Despite Sherwood's very clear, happy demeanor, admitting he was once part of the Negaverse was a mark of deep shame. For a few moments, the knight shied away from her, as if scorned, and worked to steady his guilt and breathing. Twiddling his thumbs, Gravina swallowed and turned back to Sherwood. "...y-yes... um, but... now I'm not? S-so... it's not so bad now, right? I'm trying very hard to... to repent, for what I might have done when I was part of the Negaverse." A few nods to himself. Trepidation. Would Sherwood be upset? Her mention of Camelot, a Royal Knight, taking care of a half-youma made his blood freeze in his veins. Gravina was already pale, and perhaps his skin became even whiter during his silence. Precious silent moments hung between them while the knight sought to find his voice again. "...a...a h-half? I... I don't know... I don't know Merlinite. That name... doesn't s-sound familiar, but... I... I need to see him, Sherwood. Please. I need to see..." He has a name. He's not just a half, he has a name. Remember, they are people. They are more people than you ever were. "...M-Merlinite. Please. If Camelot would allow it...? I'd be... really appreciative." Naturally, if Merlinite was hiding from the Negaverse, knowledge about him could possibly compromise his safety. Gravina understood that, but the yearning, the need to see someone who suffered as he did, was incredible. Gravina could empathize for him, perhaps too much.

"I think he would. I mean, he's pretty protective of Merlinite."
Sherwood saw Gravina pale, not thinking that was possible, and quickly moved to try to comfort him. Maybe he didn't understand, Camelot was trying to help him. She frowned and cursed herself for talking much too much which was something she'd been told many times was a failing on her part. Focus, that's what she was always being told. Pay attention to what you do and say.
She could have kicked herself.
"Don't worry! Papa Camelot would never hurt him or anything! He's so safe, I promise!"
As for visitation rights, well, that wasn't her call.
"He lets me visit. You'd have to ask him, when you meet him."
She couldn't say for sure what beans she should have spilled on that front and what she shouldn't. She was very afraid as usual that she'd said more than she should. It obviously meant a lot to the other knight since this was the most she'd heard him say at once since they'd met.
"We'll talk to him, ok? Together."

"Papa Camelot wouldn't hurt him? H-he's safe?" Parroted the Knight, turning back to Sherwood, fingers intertwined in worry. The fact that the Royal Knight was harboring a half-youma fugitive... Camelot must've been a good person. But how much could Gravina reveal about his youma knowledge? It might benefit Merlinite if the Knight could meet his royal counterpart. Did Camelot know he could possibly purify Merlinite into a human being? "....I'm glad. I'm... so glad, that Camelot is keeping Merlinite safe... If... if he wanted to leave the Negaverse, then... C-Camelot would be the best person... to keep him safe." Gravina nodded nervously, trying to calm his breathing. "H-how is... is Merlinite? How does he eat? Can... can half-youma eat things like a normal person can? Full youma, they can't eat food without getting sick. Does... does Merlinite sleep there? Does he... have to go back to the Rift, sometimes? Oh," Shaking his head, the knight couldn't keep asking all these questions. Sherwood might figure it out, or, at the very least, she may not have any idea what he was talking about. Wheezing, the knight felt his head start to swim. Maybe he needed to sit down? Sherwood's offer to speak with Camelot was met with a relieved smile. "Y-yes, please. I'd... like that very much."
