Nathaniel Parrish had no idea, really, what he was doing.
The short of it was picking someone up from the airport.
The long of it was that he did odd jobs around town sometimes to make a little extra money, and one of them was, essentially, a version of Uber or Lyft in which he drove people around to their destinations and so on and so forth. It wasn't his most lucrative job, nor his most attended, but it was nice on the weekends for some spending money.
Nathaniel stood now outside of his car - a simple, gray colored Honda Civic - holding a sign that read, in cheerful green handwriting,
SEDNA GARDIOS
There was also a smiley face, just for added effect.

Sedna didn't pack heavily, having planned for his apartment items to be shipped back to the states in a few days time. His hair was cut shorter in back from when he was last in Destiny city, two years ago, dressed in a light black best and black jeans. Stepping back in Destiny City was like taking a breath of fresh air, the ring on his finger oddly warm, as if responding to his two year absence.
He lifted his aviator sunglasses as he exited the airport, squinting for the ride he called before his flight here. He lifted his phone to confirm the driver's make and model of his car to the one on his screen, tucking his sunglasses back into his bag.
"Smiley face, cool! I definitely couldn't ask for a better welcome back." He called out cheerfully, wacing to his driver Nathaniel. Throwing his duffel bag over his shoulder, Sedna gave the driver an eager wave.

The boy - who wasn't really a boy at all and was, in fact, more of a man than anything else - that stepped towards him was a pale haired, tall figure with a cheerful grin and a pair of sunglasses, which were slid aside a moment later to reveal bright blue eyes.
The smile was returned quite as cheerfully, Nathaniel lowering the sign. "You mus' be Sedna?" he said, with a drawling southern accent that rounded out his vowels and dropped some letters off of the end of some of his words. He held out a hand. "My name's Nathaniel Parrish; I'm here t'pick y'up and take y'wherever y'need to go, wherever that is."
He glanced at the bag, then around, as though expecting more luggage.
"Didja bring anythin' else, or is this it? Where're y'comin' from?"

Sedna and Nathaniel were similar ages, and by similar, Sedna estimated basically.. he was of legal age. Legal to drink. Blue eyes scanning the friendly driver, he was more than a little surprised at Nathaniel's accent. He hadn't heard a southern accent for quite a time, considering where Sedna had been.
"You've got that right. You're my driver for the day then." Sedna has estimated he had quite a few errands for the day, so he preferred a driver who was readily available rather than calling different drivers all day long. "That's it. The other boxes were mailed to my new apartment. I didn't have much anyways," He shrugged, gesturing to himself, as if to show his minimal preferences. "That's what you get for backpacking I guess, you learn to dump the rest."
"Coming back to the country after months.. What do you say, we go out for a drink? Being a driver, I'm sure you know some of the better bars in this side of Destiny City. I'm pretty sure you're the only person I know right about now." The term, "know," was loosely used, and they both knew it. But Sedna's friendly intent wasn't to disparage the driver, he already had so little friends in Destiny City, he figured it couldn't hurt to get to know a driver he might inquire frequently about.

The car that Nathaniel had was a sleek gray one, nothing too fancy, but nothing falling apart, either. Currently it was parked neatly between two other cars on the street just outside the Bay 3 doors that would lead out into the specific area in which people went to hail taxis or call an Uber. Nathaniel, however, was allowed to park there, since he had a job to do.
"Well if this is it, then that's pretty easy," he said lightly, and gestured for Sedna to follow him, Nathaniel sticking his hands into the pockets of his khakis. He was dressed at least semi-nicely; no jeans, a neat button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his freckled elbows. "I've never been backpackin' before; where'd you go? Just all over the world?"
He wasn't sure if drivers were supposed to make small talk, but he was going to do it anyway. Nathaniel fell into step beside the other, glancing sideways at him, gaze flickering over the pale hair, the bright eyes, the lazy expression on his face.
His brows rose.
"I mean, I know of a few, yeah," said Nathaniel, a note of amusement in his voice. "If that's where you wanna go, then sure. I mean, there's a lot of good places, 'specially down in the middle of the city."
It was late afternoon, anyway, progressing slowly into evening. The perfect time to go out, Nathaniel thought, as they stepped through the automatic doors and out into the waning sunlight beyond. It was hot and a little muggy, but a breeze was starting, making it slightly more bearable.
"Why'd you wanna go out for a drink? Jus' to have a good time?" Nathaniel asked, quite cheerfully. "I mean, not that I'm opposed to it."
