It had been a few days since the end of the tournament and he was recovering at home finally after spending the first couple down in the Rift while his Youma recovered. It felt odd for the creature to get 'dusted' as the slang went. Not a sensation he expected and one he'd prefer not to have happen again if he could help it. It had forced his Pet to disaper into the depths of the rift for a bit and it had felt better to keep himself down there as well. At least at first. Once he had come back topside he'd sent Katrina to the hospital to check on Lauri and to make sure that the younger man was transferred into a private room as he'd requested and that Lauri's recovery was going as well as it could. Katrina had said she would be back to check on him at some point in the afternoon so he had, as he'd agreed, stayed at home to relax. He had a sling for the times when his shoulder was giving him issues but he had thankfully managed to come topside with just a strained joint and overly pulled muscles. It still ached a bit if he overused it though.

Katrina was exhausted and it was starting to show. She hadn't been sleeping at the hospital as Yuuri had been, but staying in the Underground was hardly her idea of comfort. Kian had made an attempt at insisting she return topside without him. She wasn't willing to do that either, finding some small sacrifices more than worth making in the name of knowing that someone would be present should Kian need something. It had taken a bit of time to see to having Lauri transferred to a private room, putting in a few phonecalls to have a handful of necessities brought to the hospital for Yuuri. She made a mental note to have a few choice words with Archer-- or maybe to yell at a wall before getting the idea to have words with Archer, as it was likely to have the same sort of an effect. Not that he could spend that sort of time at the hospital himself, given his predicament... Or his temperament, for that matter. Better he wasn't there maybe.... Katrina locked the door behind her, setting her keys down on the end table with a sigh. Teleportation was such a more convenient means of transportation, but there was never a guarantee that she wouldn't somehow be tracked back to Kian's home and she wouldn't endanger him like that just for the sake of not having to spend time sitting in rush hour traffic. She slid out of her flats next, tucking them into the hall closet before padding towards the kitchen to find something to drink and, perhaps, her lover.

He heard the door unlock and smiled slightly while leaning against the kitchen counter. That meant Katrina had finished up whatever she needed to do that day at the hospital and hopefully he could talk her into relaxing for a bit. Despite what she said he knew the last few days had been taking their tole on her but she had refused all of his advise to take it easy or make herself a bit more comfortable. There was a kettle heating and hopefully it would be finished soon so he could make them both a cup of tea. He'd been drinking some earlier and had forgotten to refill the electric kettle and set it up to keep some water warm. So for now he was stuck waiting, even if it didn't take long.

"I was hoping I'd find you in here." A light smile worked its way onto Katrina's lips as she spotted Kian in the kitchen after rounding the corner. It was good to see him home; somewhere easy to find and comfor, ting to serve as a steady reminder that all was working slowly towards being well again. Katrina watched him for a moment before crossing the kitchen, rising up on her toes to brush a light kiss to Kian's cheek. "Lauri's been settled into the private room. We were able to get one with a murphy bed for Yuuri to sleep in so he's not lying on that awful cot anymore. I had Otto and Vi put together a few necessities and a change of clothes for him so he could make use of the shower there... I'll have to figure out his sizes myself the next time I'm at the Warehouse."

Kian slid an arm around Kat's waist once she was close enough, turning his head after a moment to catch her in a proper kiss once she was finishing updating him on Lauri and those who were staying with him. "He is doing well though? All things considered?" After everything Lauri had been through in the tournament he hoped that the younger man could recover. His injuries had been sever but with the starseeds and quick help they shouldn't have been anything he couldn't handle. "There will also be water for tea as soon as the kettle is hot."

"He's well medicated, if that's what you mean by 'doing well'." Kat snorted softly as she nestled against his side, eyes closing tightly against the mental image of Lauri lying there in the hospital bed. Lauri, even when he had been nothing more than Sailor Aue to her before, had always been larger than life. She wanted him home where she could crowd his space and drive him mad-- not in a room with wires and tubes. "He's doing better than he would have been if he hadn't made it to the hospital when he did. Our mousey friend did the right thing in taking him straight there... Honestly, tournament be damned, he should have gone after his first match." She nestled her head against Kian's shoulder, opening her eyes again least the images come back more clearly. "What about you, sugar? How's your shoulder holding up?"

"I suppose that is an acceptable answer and you know as well as I do that Lauri wouldn't have given up until he was forced to. You didn't each either of us to be that way." He brushed his fingers lightly along her jaw. She had at least, in a way, answered his questions about Lauri's condition. If he was worse off she would have said something or would have been in worse shape. As it was it most likely meant Lauri was stable but still need care given hsi stomach wounds. He on the other hand? "I am doing alright. According to the doctors it will take at least four weeks to heal completely, should i not do anything else to it. The painkillers work well when I need them and at the moment it is fine." He had spent most of the day reading so he wouldn't strain anything.

"Goonies never say 'die'." Katrina wasn't certain that Kian would get the reference, but it seemed fitting, all things considered. What had started out as a pack with an alpha had become a rag tag band of misfits that had learned the importance of running together. Each had their strengths and weaknesses and, while the wolf might not agree, no single one of them was worth a damn without the power they lent each other. "Let's see that you do nothing else to it then, hm?" She knew they could each be gentle when need be and it wasn't as if she did not do most of the physical work in the more militaristic side of their relationship. "Is there anything I can do to make it easier on you to relax?"

Kian had missed out on whatever group Kat had been a part of that gave her the issues he'd met her with. He did know a few of the members of the group though it seemed they were all better off in their current situations so he doubted he was missing much. He had enough of his own issues to deal with. "Go check on the fire in the living room? I have been reading most of the day but it has been a while since I stoked the fire and it is supposed to snow again tonight." He could fix up to cups of tea and bring them to her. Katrina most likely needed a bit of 'normal' and some relaxing herself and they had time before anyone would have to worry about dinner.

"If you're going to put together a tray with tea let me know when it's ready and I'll come carry it for you." She tilted her head in order to brush a gentle kiss to the line of his jaw before slipping out of his arms in order to do as she had been asked. Kian was always looking out for her and it was incredibly fortunate this evening that looking out for her meant relaxing for him as well.

"I will let you know when it's together." He watched her slip out of the room before checking on the kettle. IT was almost done so he pulled down two mugs and set tea bags in them. A few snacky bits; sliced fruit, crackers, and cheese spread, were easy enough to put onto a tray with the mugs. Wanting to give her time to get the fire stoked he let the kettle do it's last bit before pouring the water over the tea bags to steep. Making sure they had enough things to snack for a bit he let the tea sit while going to get Kat. He could have carried the tray himself but he knew she'd fuss and he didn't want to add any more stress onto her for the moment. "The tray is put together darling. Tea should be done steeping by the time you bring it out here." He moved across the living room to shuffle the blanket he'd brought out onto the sofa and turned the lamp down a bit.

"Thank you." She brushed her fingers lightly against his elbow on her way past, slipping into the kitchen to retrieve the tray he'd put together for the two of them. She plucked an apple slice from the tray, crunching away on it as she carried the tray from the kitchen. "Looks like you've thought of everything, sugar." Katrina set the tray down on the coffee table. "Everything we might need for a nice, quiet night in, at the very least."

"I know you will fuss if I don't spend enough time relaxing tonight." He grinned slightly, leaning over to brush a kiss against her temple before he sat down. He pulled the teabags out of their mugs, taking a sip of his to check the flavor before settling back onto the couch. IT would be nice to relax for a bit, he wasn't entirely against that, but it was strange to have to take things easy given how active he'd been recently. But he did know his limitations and knew he did have to give his arm a bit of time to rest.

"Only because I'm looking out for you, Kian... And because we could both use a nice, quiet, relaxing night in." Katrina waited until he was settled against the cushions before shifting to curl up against his side. She was absolutely exhausted, mentally and emotionally. She could use a night like this-- a simple night in. A night with him. [Fin]
