Caliban was waiting at the meeting point that he and the other senshi had decided upon. Although he had been feeling incredibly tired lately, he had been feeling incredibly stiff working his job and not going out and doing his usual parkouring that he did when it wasn’t snowy and icy and just plain miserable. And so he had sent the word out via his phone asking if he could do a quick spar or something with another senshi. It had been answered quickly enough, and it was from some senshi that he had never met before, so this was definitely going to be an interesting first meeting. He sighed, watching as his breath came out as cold water, wishing that he was inside. He was at a vacant lot, pretty far away from anyone who might see them and only a small street light away from it, shining light on the park path that the light was next to. Well, at least if we spar then I should get a bit warmer at least. There were times that Caliban wished that their uniforms changed according to what the current weather was.

Though her uniform had layers, they weren't always perfectly warm and guarding against the n** of winter. Though her newer uniform had more layers than previous ones, it still wasn't an ideal outfit to be running around in. Did do something to chase away some of the n** at least.
Her heels clicked easily over the sidewalk as she approached the lot, using an earbud connected to her phone to help navigate until it chimed arrived at destination. Sending them away to whatever subspace they existed in when not in use, she followed the outlines of life energy towards the copper and silver figure that denoted a senshi in her vision once she entered the line of sight. Holding up a hand, she smiled and gave a slight wave. "Hello, Caliban, correct? I am Metis." She shivered a bit and rubbed at her gloved forearms. "Hopefully we get a break in this weather soon."

Caliban could feel the aura heading towards him, and was glad it wasn’t being followed by anything else. He doubted that the senshi would have brought something, but he felt like he always had to be on the lookout, just in case. When she finally got closer to him, he was… surprised at her outfit. Or at least at the mask covering her eyes and the wings. Was he going to get butt wings too? Oh joy.
Caliban nodded his head, and felt himself relaxing a bit. “Yes you’re correct. It’s nice to meet you Metis. Thanks for answering my request.” He sighed, agreeing with her. “Yeah, I know winter is just starting but… it does make me wish I lived somewhere warmer.” He said, looking around. Sure, his immediate family was a bit more south, but they still got hit by the cold every year.
“All right, if we’re going to do a spar, I’ll let you go first if you want?”

A smile lit her features to hear the figure before her was the other senshi she'd taken up the offer from to spar. It'd been... some time since she'd last done such a thing. "Likewise, Caliban. Thank you though for the opportunity to spar." She could feel his aura wasn't as strong as hers, meaning he wasn't an Eternal Senshi, but that hardly meant a thing if you had a sense of what you were doing in a fight. People of all experiences could learn a thing or two from a spar, anyways, especially against a new opponent.
Though she wanted to chat more--it was just her thing, wanting to know everyone's story and get to knew others who lived this odd double life--she still gave a nod and her body began to shift into a more defensive stance. "Very well then, that works fine for me." Metis gave him a quick, friendly smile before it faded, focusing on the spar rather than friendly chatter. She waited of course for a few moments to be sure he was ready before she bolted in, checking a punch at his shoulder while trying to swipe his legs out from under him. She was hesitant to use her magic, though toyed with the idea of... well, using it.

Caliban wasn’t someone who really did small talk unless he got to know them a bit more, so getting down to business almost immediately was what he did most of the time. And it seemed that the other senshi was willing to take him up on his offer, as she readied herself for a fight. He did the same, wondering what exactly she would be trying on him. A physical move? Magic? It was answered though as the other senshi before she bolted in front of him, throwing a punch out quickly followed by a leg sweep! Caliban was caught a bit off guard, not realizing that the other could move so quickly!
He managed to dodge the punch, but not the leg sweep, and was sent down. However, he rolled to the side quickly after he hit, and got back up again, sending a punch of his own at the other senshi.

Metis did try to hold back a bit on her increased speed, having no desire to brush off a spar. A downward punch once he'd hit the ground after she caught his legs missed as he rolled to the side, and she quickly tried to straighten and back up a few steps. His punch was met with raised forearms to block the strike from hitting her shoulder or chest, a slight grunt coming from her at the impact.
She hoped it wouldn't be a lapse in judgment to do this. Her magic was... odd, and she knew that. But there was a horribly curious part of her that wanted to know what others saw when they experienced it. It was an itch she couldn't help. So she took in a breath and let it out slowly through her lips. "Visions of War," she murmured, her hands beginning to glow. Placing her thumbs and index fingers together to form a triangle, she zipped forward again, this time as if she were to run past him at his side. Instead though, she pushed her hands out, hoping to tap his chest with her hands to activate her magic.
Quote: Speaking the name of the attack, Metis' hands began to glow with a soft teal light. Putting her thumbs and index fingers together, forming a triangle between her hands, she touches the target over their forehead--preferably, however due to her height the target can also be touched on their chest--leaving behind a mark that looks like a half-lidded eye, glowing teal. Even if the target has a mask, headdress, fur, or something else covering their forehead or chest, the magic will still take effect. For 40 seconds the target begins to see a vision of a possible future overlay on the world around them from their third eye, disorientating them and likely blurring the battle around them. However, it is not a completely opaque scene, so the target will still be capable of seeing danger around them, albeit possibly distracted by the contents of the vision. The exact contents of the vision are up to the player, and if the player wishes if the target is subjected to a possible future that contains injuries or some other cause of pain, the target would feel it as they experience the vision, however the pain would only be in their minds, and no lasting damage would occur. After the 40 seconds, the vision fades away. She is only capable of using this magic once per battle.

Caliban frowned as she was able to brace herself for his punch, and realized that he still had a lot more to learn when it came to self-defense. However, it was then that she started to use her magic, and before he realized what she was doing, she had already touched his chest with her hand.
Suddenly, it was like the area around him had warped. Half of it on Earth, where they were, though it was a bit hard to tell, and the rest of it back on his home planet. In the Cathedral. Immediately he felt the same fear he always did when he went back to his home planet, and immediately looked for the statue. The fear was causing him to panic, and not realize that he was just seeing a vision.
However, there was no statue anymore. Instead, it stood there, almost growling, and he could feel the waves of power coming off of it. He took a step back, unable to flee because of his fear. The creature then roared/screamed and Caliban could only hold his hands over his ears. And suddenly, it was moving towards him. Giant, thunderous steps as it lifted one leg, and then the other. Caliban kept backing up, trying to get away. He knew he couldn’t defeat the thing on his own! He would die here by himself and there would be no way to stop it! The look of terror on his face couldn’t be shaken away. He knew what would come of this battle, if he were to battle the monster.

There was no ability for her to know what people saw when struck by her magic. She'd no ability to view it, or hear it, or anything. Nor could she control it.
When it hit, it hit, and she could only take quick steps back to avoid getting struck by limbs. Metis couldn't see Caliban's facial features, but her brows knit as she watched his figure move, his breaths becoming heavier--shallower--and his arms move... then he began to back up...
"Caliban." She recognized the sounds of panic from someone, and immediately she began to regret using her magic on him. Metis tried to approach him, tried to grab at his arm. Something to anchor him back to this time and place. "Caliban, listen to me. It's not real. It's not happening." Not that such information would dismiss the magic, but might make it more bearable until it wore off.

Caliban continued to step back, until he felt something on his arm. He jerked it back immediately, but could tell that there was something, or someone, trying to speak to him. He couldn’t make it out though, as the monster continued to make it’s way forward. “no… NO!” Caliban shouted as the creature reared up, and looked like it was just about to send out an attack!
However, right after that, it all started to fade away. The monster faded, the Cathedral, the rest of his planet, until he could see that he was back at the empty lot where he had been sparring with Metis. He looked around, and saw a concerned look, as much as he could see at least, from Metis.
He turned away, taking some deep breaths, trying to get his breathing under control again. When he finally felt he could speak, he turned back to Metis. “Sorry I… certainly didn’t expect that.” He said, giving her a weak smile. “It’s just… something I’m definitely going to have to face in the future on my home planet that I am really not ready to face.” He took a few more deep breaths, now feeling the sweat he had created as the cold wind blew over him. “I’m… not sure if I can spar anymore tonight. Though I can try if you want to?”

She shouldn't have used her magic. Guilt bloomed in her chest as Metis continued to try and speak to Caliban through the veil of her magic. "Just breath, Caliban, it's alright. It's not real. What you're seeing isn't happening. It's not real."
Bit by bit, though, the magic did fade, and the Eternal Senshi kept a firm grip on the other senshi's upper arm until he seemed to be back to himself. As he turned away, she released him, taking a step back and clutching her upper arm instead, head somewhat bowed. She shouldn't have used her magic. Oh, she wanted to ask, as he explained a bit of what he'd seen. Her head lifted, her brows still furrowed and her lips a sympathetic frown. "No, please. Go home and rest. I... I'm very sorry for doing that to you. It was irresponsible of me." Face on his world? She took a breath and let it out, a long sigh. "Please just... keep in mind that sights like this? They are not a future set in stone. No vision or divination, or anything else of the sort, can tell you what events will unfold without question or fail. Whatever you have seen, it might not come to pass, or might not unfold the way it has in the vision." She offered a small, tentative smile, hoping that her limited knowledge of how her own magic worked would be of aid.
"You have my number, so please, if you ever wish to speak, or spar again, I would be happy to do so--and I promise to not use that magic again," she added quickly, wincing.

Caliban breathed a few more times, now finally feeling the fear going away. He knew she hadn’t meant to do it, but she couldn’t have known. “It’s all right Metis. You couldn’t have known. But that does seem to be a very useful power.” He said, finally standing up straight again and taking one last deep breath. He knew he would be having nightmares tonight.
He smiled at her, stronger this time, and with actual warmth behind hit. He could tell that she was feeling guilty, and he decided that he wouldn’t tell her that he had seen this thing before, and knew it was still there. But her words gave him a bit of hope. Maybe he wouldn’t be alone in facing it?
He gave her a thumbs-up. “All right Metis, we can call it a night here. But I’ll definitely call you again for some sparring or something. Don’t feel guilty about what you did, it just goes to show that sometimes magic can be unpredictable. You are in no way to blame.” He tried to reassure her. “How about this, we can walk home together for a bit just talking. And then maybe later we can meet up again sometime.” He said as he tried to lead the two of them away from the lot. He didn’t want anyone to feel guilty about what he saw, it was his planet’s problem. Something that would be inevitable. He knew that he couldn’t ignore it forever, but he also had to get rid of the freezing fear he felt around it.
Maybe it was time to go and start seeing a therapist.
