“So that isn’t the purple peace lily. It’s the angel wings vine. And that means…” Turning the ancient page twice, Phact glanced at the plant growing before her and down at the image. Running her hand over the drawing, she then dragged a finger down to the right corner to the symbol there. “Just as I thought.” Grinning as she grabbed a couple of leaves, Phact laid them in the pages of the book to bring back with her. “Tea sample.”

It had been several months since she had discovered her holy grail. Since then, he entire process had changed for her. Now it wasn’t just about growing the plants but it was about discovering their uses. The garden she had found wasn’t for the kitchen. Whoever had processed the lab had used it for purposes she could only guess.

Given the number of uses, Phact really had come to wonder if the person had been a herbalist of some sort. Healing and poisons. Items that numbed senses and, her favorite, caffeine in plant form.

At home her collection had grown so much that she had bought a cabinet with a lock to keep nosy parents out. Last thing she needed was them coming by and grabbing one of the plants she still was trying to figure out its use. No way to explain some of the side effects to a doctor.

Snapping the book closed, Phact slipped it back into the leather bag she used to carry it, her own notebook, and several items for collecting samples. Glovers were a must with some of those things. It had taken two weeks for the tingle in her fingers to stop last time.

“But enough for tonight. If I’m right, I will make it back in time to catch the start of the eclipse.” Grinning as she shrugged her bag onto her shoulder and took off for Earth.

A Super Blue Blood Moon. Something that had not been seen since 1866. Delilah didn’t want to miss at least what little they would see on the east coast.

“Amazing.” Delilah mouthed as she watched the corner begin to disappear into shadow. The moon was just starting to take on a yellow tint as she finished into her jacket pocket for her cell phone. Normally she wouldn’t have bothered with it but her parents had been at a gala last night for some charity the Whites donated too and she knew them well enough that her mother would text her to let her know they made it home.

What she saw though was threw her for a loop.

'I know you're doing you're thing, but I need you to call me as soon as you get this message. No exceptions. I need to find you right now.'

Jeremy’s name appeared above it. One of the few people who knew her secrets but even so this was odd.

Pressing the call button, Delilah listened as the phone connected and he picked up. “Hey, everything okay? Myles safe?'”

“'where can you meet me?”

The words were spoken quickly and Delilah didn’t have time to question it.

"Um...I'm at the park near DCU. I can meet you at Jay's Bakery in five minutes if you are close to campus. Otherwise give me thirty to get back to my car...Jeremy, what's going on? You are scaring me."

"I'll be at the Bakery in five minutes."

And the phone went dead.

For a breath Delilah stood there staring at the phone, the screen glowing on her face. And then she turned and took off at a brisk half run.

Something was wrong. Something was oh so wrong.
