~!~ From Equestria to Wonderland ~!~

Unlike the series, our Wonderland is not a game with a start and finish. It's a separate world, much like the Humans or Breezies have in the canon MLP series, though like the game, time is a little wonky. I will do my absolute best to translate/modify all this over to the shop, but if anyone has questions/concerns/comments please feel free to pm me at any time! 8D

~ How to Get There ~
There is a portal that only the Role Holders know about, though because of their important status in the world most never leave, at least not often or for very long… With the exception of the White Rabbit. He watches Alice in Equestria and grows to think that because she loves tea time, she loves him too. Similar the game, he kidnaps her one day while she naps in the garden, bringing her into Wonderland and forcing her to consume a drink that scrambles her memory. Without the help of a Role Holder, Outsiders and Faceless cannot cross between worlds, at least not without risking permanent damage or death. A very skilled Unicorn could figure out how to open the portal… but again, risky. Risky risky risky. The Cheshire Cat is the odd one on this, as he doesn't need the actual single portal to hop back and fourth. Like with the others, doing so often or for long could cause things to get really screwy really fast, but he can summon a door to get between worlds or just to pop around Wonderland itself. Using this to get between worlds isn't something he'll be doing much if at all, as despite his impish nature he doesn't want his own world falling down around him because he's poked a billion holes through it.

edit: This is all new to lux on how to merge two worlds like this, so things will get modified as we go. The Cheshire Cat will accept bribes (riddles that make him think, random trivia he doesn't already know, etc) from both sides to ferry ponies across, though trips are limited on time to keep things balanced. For an Equestrian to get to Wonderland, they'd need to catch him when he pops into the world at the portal site (I'm thinking Everfree Forrest?), and if he accepts their bribe they'll have a few hours to roam about Wonderland as he keeps an eye on them or gives them a tour. For a Faceless to get to Equestria, they can find him pretty much anywhere in the Country of Hearts, though most likely the Amusement Park, and if he accepts their bribe they'll have a few hours in Equestria fairly unsupervised. He'll put a magical tracker on them, or rather their clock, so if they screw up and get themselves killed he can still bring the clock back to Wonderland. Depending on his mood, as he can't pop around Equestria like he can Wonderland and has to travel like any un-winged pony, he might leave a late Faceless behind or he might drag their tail back when time's up. He only really cares that Outsiders don't cause issues and that clocks return to where they belong.

~ The Setting ~
For the sake of all the characters in the same world, the set up is a little different. The 'Countries' are just that… countries. They're not parallel worlds, but rather neighboring countries in a circle separated by mountains and dense forests.

Hearts: Home to the Heart Castle, a Hatter Mansion, the Clock Tower, and Amusement Park.
Clover: Home to the Clover Tower, the Prison, and the Circus in Joker's Forest.
Diamond: Home to the Diamond Castle, a Hatter Mansion, Train Station, and the Graveyard and Museum.
Spades: Until we ever learn of this becoming a game thing, the Country of Spades will be considered the land between Hearts and Diamond, thick with steep cliffs, wide freezing rivers, and a tall dense forest that voids the land of any and all light. It is strictly forbidden to go here, though sometimes kids dare each other to spend the night camping on the very edge…

While not entirely the same, this webpage can help a little with roleplay locations~

~ Unique Elements ~
Two of the biggest things about Wonderland is the time changes and the clocks. The day/night cycle is wonky at best, and can go from noon to midnight in the blink of an eye. I'd like to keep this to aesthetic purposes mostly, though injuries sustained can be healed a bit with each time skip. Wonderlanders, Roles and Faceless alike, have an internal clock that serves two purposes: one, it keeps them on track despite the sun and moon doing the hokey pokey; and two, it's their heart. Yup, their heart. Rather than a heartbeat, an ear pressed to a chest will reveal a tick…tock…tick…tock. Hey, we got ponies that turn transparent if they're around a certain stone in the MLP:FiM canon, so we're kinda beyond logic here. Death works in a funny way, in that while a character may die, their clock will not. It will simply stop… and Julius will repair that clock and fit it with a new Image. That Image, or 'soul', will take on the role the clock represented. So, if Blood said '******** it' and shot Boris between the eyes, Boris would die and another Image would take his place as the Cheshire Cat. Details for this aren't really needed, as I know I myself will -never- kill Boris and I'd highly prefer none of the other Role Holders got killed either, as none were killed in the games. Besides, why would someone with such an epic cosplay want to kill them? This all basically just explains why pretty much no one has the same view of death as an Outsider would, or why mauling others is kinda a regular thing. They just… heal. Not instantly at a time skip, but faster than they would in Equestria.

~ Magic ~
Like in Equestria, magic is restricted to Unicorns... with one exception. Well, two, if you count the Bloody Twins's Changeling horn and resulting age-swapping magic... ANYWHO. Weapons. Each Role Holder has a preferred weapon, and they can make this weapon materialize and dematerialize at will. This is generally done with some specific action, like Boris tugging on his chain to pull out his pistol attached to the other end of it, or my 2nd gen from TLN Skythe snapping his chain out so it stiffens and puts out a scythe blade from the end. Think 'anime' when it comes to this, but keep it simple because if someone is trying to fight you, they ain't gonna wait for your Magical Girl transformation to be complete first.

~ Referring to Uncreated Characters ~
I'd like to assume that all Holders exist within Wonderland, even if they don't exist in the shop. They should be referred to by their Role, not their canon name, as names will all change to match the shop. Yup, even Wonderland has the same naming them as Equestria. They are, after all, still ponies, and connected to the Equestrian world.

~ The Faceless ~
The Faceless are the background ponies, not notable enough for their face to be remembered. This is why they're drawn without eyes, even though they do actually have them. It's kind of like how wearing a partial mask can throw someone off? They also have clocks for hearts, and in the manga at least they've been shown to be killed without a second thought. I'd still -prefer- this didn't happen, but it could make an interesting plot. After all, when a character is killed, the clock is simply 'reset' or 'fixed' with a new Image. It's reasonable to say the new Image could look the same, but they may not talk or act the same. If you'd really really like to go down this road, please contact a Role Holder or someone with a Faceless they're ok with being killed to, because while they don't see themselves as super important they do value themselves enough not to just willy-nilly murder each other, and a Faceless who does can catch the attention of the Role Holders and be killed themselves. After all, more stopped clocks = more work for Julius. Faceless ponies CAN get Cutie Marks, though not all do, and the ones who do get very simple ones. Perhaps a rose, or a chef hat? IF a cutie-marked Faceless is killed, their replacement will take on the same purpose. Think of it like cards... A 3 of spades cannot just *poof* into a 5 of diamonds. Besides all this, they carry on their lives like everyday ponies in Equestria. They make friends, they build families, they have jobs... They live~
