The slender young man made his way down to the beach, his expression one of distaste for the sand under foot. It was better then the mud he'd first fought in, but he MUCH preferred the town. Sand was slippery and slidey, and he really had no desire to turn an ankle on the loose soil under his feet. He looked around, as he stepped under the rope that divided the area up, and then shrugged, with a sigh, accepting what he had to do.

Gabby was ready and waiting at the location for her next fight, which was at the beach no less. She loved the beach, though fighting in the sand was a huge no in her book. But, much like the whole mud situation, what could she do about it? She was just here to participate, after all. With a sigh she summoned Sen, and when her opponent finally showed she chippered up a little bit and gave the younger looking guy a wave.
"Hi! Gabby, nice to meet you. Just a quick intro, I hope that's alright with you. Are you ready?"
She only waited long enough for him to return the introduction before she darted for him, not bothering to size him up or anything. The girl was used to being shorter and stockier than most people, and he was a trainee like her so probably had minimal experience with his weapon. No big deal, no need to worry too much.

Dai was rather taken aback by the other person, and blinked a few times, before saying "Ah... I'm Dai Yong... Nice to meet you, Gabby." Her sudden charge at him, on top of that, had him even more off balance, and unprepared. He took the hit, and was unable to do much to dodge, because he was busy summoning Fiachra. Once he had the glaive in his hands, he moved towards Gabby, and slashed at her. It connected but it was a glancing blow, at best.

Gabby felt a little apologetic about not giving him enough time to really get ready, but she figured she could apologize at the end of this round, regardless of the outcome.
"That's a gorgeous weapon, Dai," she offered, though, and with a smile as she did her best to dodge. The glaive grazed her arm, causing her to wince while she sidestepped and slashed at him again. Sen was mumbling something about him being sleeker between them, which had Gabby giggling on the move. An odd thing to see, no doubt, but Gabby was never one to worry about what others really thought of her.

Dai's nostrils flared a little, as he focused, trying to calm himself down after the startled. Her words, though, earned her a smile. "Thank you. I'm sure, if he was the sort to care about these things, Fiac would too." He hissed a little at the next hit, and shifted back. Once he was far enough to give him a good amount of room, he swung the glaive, and swung it hard, in an overhand chopping motion.

Seren darted down to the beach, and found a good spot to stand in. She looked between Gabby and her brother, and called out "GO, DAI, GO!" while giving Gabby a slightly sheepish look. It had been awhile since she has seen the other woman, but this WAS her little brother... Family first, after all.

Just from that she could tell that Fiac and Sen were already marginally different, not in just appearances but in personality as well. "Might just not be their thing?" she thought aloud as she tried again to dodge, but this time slipping in the sand and not getting as far as she would like. The glaive did more than just graze this time--it cut--and if it weren't for her shield she probably would have had a seriously nasty gash running down her left chest now.
She started to dart forward once more when she heard someone cheering in the crowd--there was a crowd?--and upon glancing over she noticed Seren. She would have waved but decided that concentrating was a better option, so she refocused and dashed toward Dai. Once again slipped in the sand, causing her sword to flail in the completely wrong direction.

"Fiac is not particularly interested in most of the world, really..." Was all Dai could say about it. His weapon could be a touch surly, a touch distant. He watched her slide on the sand, his brows creasing as he moved. "You alright? Sand is crap to fight in, though I can't be sure if I like it less or more then mud..." He swung his glaive as she passed, and managed a small hit... Not enough to do much, but still, it connected.

Gabby fumbled after she felt the sting of his blade on her back this time, and she hissed. Not at him but more because his blade hurt whenever it made contact. When she turned and steadied herself though, she couldn't help but smirk.
"Sen's got a bit of an ego on him, I think," she said, suppressing a giggle as her partner insisted she shut up and just focus on the fight. "He doesn't say much so it's kind of hard to get a good read on him." Gabby eyed the sand as she once again darted in, and she mimicked Dai's last attack, raising her sword up and sweeping down in a diagonal motion across his chest.

Dai made a "NNN" sound at the hit on his chest. That was definitely not at all fun, and he wanted to avoid experiencing it again, if he could. He shifted, thinking about it, and finding Gabby's giggling a little strange. "Mmmm well, they all have unique personalities, as far as I can tell. My sister says hers is supportive and kind to her, if sometimes whiny." He moved forwards to swing, but his footing was off, and he missed as he skidded past Gabby in the sand.

Gabby waited until he was mostly at a stop before stepping in and slashing at her opponent once more, glad to see she wasn't the only one between them that was having trouble with the terrain. She much preferred this, though, over the mud. At least it wasn't slick, and it didn't stain, which mattered very much to her.
"I don't get to ask a lot about other people's weapons," she mused, smile finally faltering as she came to this realization. "Maybe I should start, see if there's some kinda pattern to how they choose who they bond with and all that.

"It's a good question. I know my sister's matches her in ways I can't even begin to imagine." He took the hit with a grimace, but stayed focused. "If you've ever battled Seren, you might have noticed they have a matching theme. I haven't asked her a lot about her weapon, though... I should. It's an interesting question." The young Death hunter stepped back for a moment, then darted forwards, swinging Fiac in a side sweep hit, aiming for Gabby's legs.

"Your sister?" she quirked a brow, the question putting her concentration off enough that the sweep did a great job of knocking her off of her feet. Gabby landed in the sand with a squee-thud, and while sputtering and getting up to her feet she flailed her sword in Dai's general direction, hoping she was close enough and swinging her sword hard enough that it would make some kind of a difference.

"Yeah, Seren." Dai had thought he had made it clear, when he had continued talking about her, but maybe not. "I'm her younger brother. I mean, assuming you know her." He had no idea if his sister knew the woman he was battling, or vice versus. "I know she's been around here for awhile, so you might?" Her sword hit his thigh and he made a grunt of discomfort, before darting back a little. He then made a hard stabbing motion at his opponent, the point of the glaive coming in at Gabby.
