█ Nature ▬ Shu-Lin is a calm, collected, and calculated woman with a dark sense of humor. She is never one to show much emotion and always maintains an indifferent demeanor to things happening around her, but in a rare case of event where something has caught her attention, she will show a spark of amusement and a not-so-obvious sign of mischief that people can hardly catch or be prepared for. Her sense of control over emotion allows her make no rash decision and determines her next course of action logically. She does enjoy a small talk now and then, but gives no clue to her origin. Her past is meant to be a past only, something that should be buried to the deepest part of the earth and never ever surfaced again. She can be cunning when needed to be and proves to be observant by nature as she notices every detail people overlooked.

█ BACKGROUND ▬ Hooded woman of mysterious origin. No one knows who she is or where exactly she is from. She just suddenly made an appearance one day and saved a family of faunus from being completely beaten to death by some faunus haters, before disappearing without a trace. From that day on she had made a few more appearances to repeat the same thing again and again, and soon everyone in the kingdom now knew her as The Crow. No one actually did see her face as she had taken a precaution of wearing a mask. If asked about ever regretting the things she had done, her answer would be a definite ‘no’. The negative opinion of fellow human towards her never bothered her at all as she had never cared—and never will—about those people who know nothing about her. The only person whose opinion mattered the most to her was her master who had raised her up and taught her all needed skills to survive in this dog-eat-dog world. And, he…was a faunus.
Before Shui-Lin became today’s ‘Shui-Lin’, she was simply a daughter of one of the generals of Vale’s military. Both family sides of her parents were wealthy, and naturally that makes her family wealthy too. If given a chance, children of lower status would surely want to exchange place with her just so that they could possess such a warm family and wealth that would last the entire lifetime of theirs. Well, the wealth part was definitely true, but warm family? The ‘real’ truth was Shui-Lin had always been ignored by her parents with an excuse of being too busy with adult matters to give their daughter the affection she needed. In front of the public, they were simply too good at lying and scheming, trying hard to keep their good image.
Then, one day, an incident happened. Shui-Lin was only an eight years old when kidnapped by a group of terrorists. As they were moving on their way to their hideout, another faunus appeared before them, then struck them down, and helped releasing her from tied rope. Having her life threatened for the first time, little Shui couldn’t help but cry profusely for a really long time as she rushed forward and hugged the stranger’s waist tightly. In an awkward manner, he stood still in silence until her crying stopped, before carrying her sleeping form back to his home which located deep in mountains. Having lived in secluded for so long, he knew only a few names of people in power who he needed to look out for, and thus didn’t know which family the girl belongs to or even who she is from. He could only have her stay with him for the day and wait for her to wake up before sending her home. However, some accident happened, and then one thing after another, the two ended up staying together for almost a year.
At some point, the faunus had taken a liking to the girl like his own daughter and begun telling her some of his life experiences as bed time stories when she couldn’t fall asleep. The two slowly formed a bond over the months they spent together and even after Shui-Lin had returned to her original home, she still kept in touch with him through letters. They had also secretly meet up now and then at a place agreed upon on letters, and then she often had him taught her how to fight, so in the future, she could protect herself when encountered danger again. Their interaction continued peacefully in secret for a few years, before one of the maids in her household found out about it by accident and went reporting this immediately to her father. As a general of this kingdom, he shared the same discriminated view everyone living here does and absolutely couldn’t allow a rumor to spread around about his daughter having been close with one of those…things. What a disgrace to the family. First thing he did was to silence the maid, then locked his disappointing daughter up in confinement in her own room, and sent out a few trusted soldiers to search for said faunus.
Four weeks later, no news came about the faunus. The general was simply disappointed at first, but a few days later he became utterly furious when discovered that someone had broken in the other night and escaped away along with his daughter. The absence of his daughter’s presence in public would soon alert people of her well-being and whereabouts; thus to cover up this mess, he made a decision to spread out a fake news of his daughter’s sudden death to save the family’s reputation.
And, many years later, now 16 years old Shui-Lin had unintentionally become famous as The Crow, causing her adoptive father the faunus to be deeply worried about her future. He didn’t want her to live a life like him where she had to stay constantly in hiding. She should be able to live freely in the open where all the people of her age mingled. One day, with that in mind, the master told her, "You should head out and join Beacon Academy. Become an official huntress and save people as many as those two hands can. You must know...that your life isn't meant to end here like me." Shui-Lin at first was reluctant to follow his wish and leave him behind, but then with much persuading and threatening from him, she prepared herself for her first long journey to an unknown.

█ ▬ Here’s her deeply cherished trusty weapon handed over to her by her adoptive father. It takes on a form of foldable fan with elegant design that’s capable of storing many different types of dust and activates them for long-ranged attack as user inserts their aura into the weapon and waves it at the direction of target. Once the dust is activated, the pattern on it will lighten up in color respective to the type of dust being used. Other than Fan Mode, this weapon also has a second mode called Sword Mode. As the name implied, it allows user to go for close combat as the activated mechanism releases several hidden blades slid forward to the top of folded fan to form a doubled-edged sword, and allows activation of dusts too.

As the name implies, her semblance allows her to teleport from one location to another at a great distance as long as she knows where she is going. This means that she can’t go to an unknown area without proper knowledge of its location. In combat, it proves to be useful in various ways. For instance, it allows her to evade an incoming attack and catch her opponent by surprise by closing the distance between them in an instant. In case of traveling, she can teleport two people only one at a time, requiring her to touch them in some way for it to work. This also includes inanimate objects, and the way she does it depends on the size of them. For instance, she can teleport a few small object over to a certain location without her being going there too. In the case where object weighs more than her, she has to teleport herself along for teleportation to execute successfully.
