At the moment she was standing at the entrance of a very dark alleyway, trying to gather up the courage to go inspect the space. She'd heard a strange noise in that section and thought that perhaps she should check it out. Hilaritas gulped a little.
Some sorry protector she turned out to be. Perhaps bravery was gained through experience?
Hilaritas took a moment to gaze off side to side to see if anyone was watching her. Not that she cared if she was made fun of...
Well not much.

Nix was off running from rooftop to rooftop...something he liked doing when he didn't feel like doing any specific training pattern. As he was going along, he happened to notice another senshi, on the ground, and peering worriedly into an alleyway. Thinking there might be something bad going on that she needed help with, he adjusted his course, and landed on the pavement behind her with an audible whump. "Hey there!" he said in a hopefully sufficiently friendly tone to offset the probably-startling entrance he had. "Are you okay?" Pales Sorry for the delay in starting~

She was indeed startled, her body jolting forward just a fraction before she turned about to face the one that spoke from behind, her body had moved in a sort of a wobbly spin.
"Oh! Um! Heya," Hilaritas managed to offer a grin that was different from her worried expression seem like a thing from the past. "I just ... heard a weird noise in this dark alley and like...It coulda been a cat or it coulda been something else?"
Hilaritas peered over at the offending alley again, "I should be braver about this..." Tolin Kalin Np! I sorta get delayed a lot myself. XD

Nix squinted into the dark a moment before saying anything else. He was pretty sure there wasn’t anything back there of a…chaotic nature, but there may have been other things, at least. “What kind of weird noise?” he asked curiously. “Like a…” He made a claw motion with his green-gloved hand, “Mrow! Or…like a crash or something?” “Nothing wrong with a bit of caution, ya know,” he went on, “But c’mon, let’s go look!” He took a step in that direction, then paused. “Oh, I’m Nix, by the way! I’m sure we can take on whatever we find back there.” He figured there was probably an animal there, or maybe a hobo. Either way, shouldn't be too bad.

"A crash," she confirmed with a small nod. "I mean it is probably nothing at all, but yeah..."
She felt a little better when the other seemed to take her worries seriously enough and so Hilaritas seemed to relax a good deal as she introduced herself in return, "I am Hilaritas. Pleased to meet ya!"
Hilaritas meandered forward with him, "I mean so far I haven't been finding much of anything interesting, and maybe that is a blessing in disguise."
A few steps in the dark alley she paused a moment and her eyes squinted in the semi-gloom, "I don't think I see anything other than a couple of knocked over garbage cans," she observed quietly, she almost sounded a little disappointed.

"Well," Nix temporized, "Around here? Never know. Could be giant spiders or evil snowflakes or something." He rapped a knuckle on a closed bin, making a fairly satisfying bang, but nothing erupted out of it. "Huh. Well, maybe a cat knocked one into the other, and the sound scared it off?" He grinned ever so slightly before suggesting, or a cat was locked in an *epic* struggle with a chihuahua-shaped youma, and you heard the cat's victory bang before it went home!" Honestly not the most likely of possibilities, but talking cats were a thing, Nix reasoned. And the idea of a youma chihuahua was funny to him.

"True," she said thoughtfully as she watched him brazenly knock on a closed bin, she held her breath for only a second or two before she let it out, "I am trying to get more experience so I don't let others down," she frowned slightly.
Hilaritas let out a small giggle at the mental image, "I would think something like that would run in a pack or something. Being so small and all."
"Perhaps a youma chihuahua and a pack of controlled actual chihuahua thralls..." She seemed to think about it for a moment and then shuddered lightly.
She suddenly didn't think the idea was so ridiculous. Tolin Kalin SORRYYYYYYY. Stuff happened. KABLOOEY.

"Could be that," he agreed with a little chuckle. "Anyway, what are we waiting for, let's go look!" He still thought it was nothing bad in there, although he was still ready to punt a tiny youma...just in case. He led the way in, stepping slowly, poking at boxes and bins. "Hmm...not...seeing anything," he said cautiously. Briefly, he considered jumping and shouting something just to startle, but realized that would be very mean, and he didn't really know this senshi, so didn't want to do something like that to her, so he remained neutral and factual as he looked. "Doesn't...look like signs of an epic--but small--battle either, but it's kind of dark. You see anything?" Pales Life happens, I understand~
