For all the new senshi she'd met, and the new friends in her life, it was hard not to think back to the beginning of all this and miss the people who had started the road to who she was today. Not that there had been many but those there had been Lacrimosa often found herself thinking of. And it didn't help that back in the beginning that communication had been harder. She had no idea how to find those specific people anymore and could only hope that one day she'd stumble in to them again. Which she found herself often hoping would happen since she started patroling again though she'd done well to not use patrols has a way of scouring the city for lost friends. She had a duty to uphold, after all, one that had pulled her back into the city after leaving it behind. Still, on a night like tonight with nothing going on she couldn't help but wonder what would happen if she slunk off while powered in search of old friends. Kaefaux idk she was being nostolgic i guess? i can fix it if I need to <3

Patrolling more. That was her New Year's resolution. Or well, one of them. She had a large number rolling around in her head.
One of those additionals being to actually try to reconnect with people in this war. She'd been drifting in and out, these last few years especially. Most of the people she knew... weren't around. It was a distressing thing, and a disturbing thought often accompanied it--were they dead? Were they corrupted? Hiding from the war?
She favored the latter of all the options. It made her sick to think about Vic still being part of the Negaverse. She couldn't handle the thought of more of her friends taken by Chaos.
It was perhaps fortune that brought her along the path she walked that evening. Another energy drew her along, curious though cheered to feel the warm pulse of Order within her mind. A Super Senshi, from what she could tell. It took a bit to locate them, but when she at last spotted the copper figure with silver tendrils racing through their energy, she lifted a gloved hand in greeting. "Good evening! I trust the new year is treating you well?"
She couldn't tell who they were, though found no issue in speaking casually with even a stranger. They were all in the same war, after all.

It was a voice she recognized though it had taken her some time to realize it as it had been so long since she'd last heard it. No doubt changed a little by time, as well as her power level. Turning almost a little dramatically, unable to help herself, Lacrimosa could have cried at the senshi before her. Funny that it would be the night she was thinking about her almost specifically that she would show. "It's been a very promising start," she replied, hands disappearing behind her back as she smiled to her friend though she knew the other couldn't see it. Perhaps she could hear it in her voice? "How about yourself, Metis?"

The recognition that hit made Metis falter slightly, a large grin forming on her face as she began to quickly close the distance between herself and the copper and silver figure. "Lacrimosa? It's been too long!" She laughed as she opened up her arms, pausing slightly to make sure Lacrimosa wasn't about to pull away from such a contact. When the other senshi didn't, Metis' smile grew even further, quickly stepping in to embrace her friend.
"You're a Super Senshi now, I'm so proud of you," she beamed. "I think the year is off to a good start as well, so I can't complain." Giving her friend another squeeze, she stepped back slightly, features light that weren't hidden by her blindfold. "How've you been?"

"It's been far too long, I was beginning to worry I might never run into you again~" Not that she wouldn't have gone looking eventually. The only reason Lacrimosa hadn't taken the step to hug the other was a mixture of anxiety and unsurity, not wanting to upset the other by surprising her with a hug. So when Metis moved to do just that the sakura senshi happily, almost eagerly, returned the hug. She was the first of the orignal senshi she knew of that she'd seen in such a long time. And Metis would always have a place in her heart considering she'd been there when she'd become Lacrimosa in the first place. "Yes, I hit super toward the end of the year. I think I've finally deserved the power growth." A small laugh, hands smoothing down her skirt. "And hoping it won't take me nearly as long to hit eternal, which you are! Forever behind it seems. But you look amazing!" Though her words never got loud there was definite excitement in her voice, and maybe a little embarrassed pride at Metis being proud of her. Though she did deserve to be proud, she knew she'd come a long way. "Busy, mostly. But in a good way. Glad to be back in Destiny City though I was sure I'd never want to come back. Gosh, I don't even remember the last time I saw you but I missed you so much."

There was that fear, though. There were a lot of people she hadn't seen in... years. That fear, that concern for their safety... Metis tried to push that from her head.
The contact with another person, a friend she'd not seen in so long, soothed her in ways she'd not expected, and Metis felt a weight lifting from her chest and shoulders. She looked over the other girl's figure, the energy waves at this close distance showing her bits and pieces of some definition. Not enough to really see her, but enough to make sense of the uniform and changes in her. It was nearly enough to bring her to tears. She remembered clearly when ********* had awakened Lacrimosa. The guardian would be thrilled to see her now!
Metis laughed, shaking her head a little as a bit of color came to her cheeks. "I can understand that. I was a Super Senshi for... six years I believe?" The color on her face deepened and spread nearly to her neck. "I struggled for a long time to find my place. Though I do not believe I needed the next stage until now. I'm sure your experience will be far, far different from mine--for the better," she amended swiftly to not cause confusion or concern. Somehow, she didn't see Lacrimosa falling into the same traps she had. It was just... different circumstances, thankfully. A hand lifted to her blindfold though, and Metis smiled sheepishly. "I do enjoy the shift, even if I find the development of my attire amusing."
Every now and then, she wondered if those she encountered now realized she was blind right off the bat, or if it wasn't so quickly noticeable anymore. There was a definite new feeling of ease for her moving around as Metis that hadn't existed years ago.
Moving her hand, she summoned her phone from subspace, the digital voice reading out as she began to flick through to make sure she even had the Sakura Senshi's contact information. "Did you leave for school? Unless you would rather not talk about it, which I understand. But now that you're back, we really should hang out more often, if you have the time of course." Perhaps a bit pushy, sure, but Metis couldn't help it--a friend was back, and she didn't... she didn't want any excuses to pop up for losing contact.

In a job like this that fear would always be there, lingering in the back of their minds until truth set them free. Melody counted herself lucky there were a lot more distractions in her life these days to keep her from worrying too badly. "Oh god, has it really been that long? Longer probably..." She'd been at this for far too long. They both had. "But you've done well for yourself and I have no doubt that you've come such a long way. I'm sorry I wasn't there for much of it." God she was just... so happy for her friend and hoped to one day make it to the same rank. "I left for several different reasons, admittedly, but school was probably the biggest one," she confessed. "I was tired of not being able to do anything for myself so I left and honestly I was fine with never coming back. I mean, let's be honest... younger me was not equipped for the struggles of war." A soft laugh from the senshi of sakuras, because it was laugh or be totally embarrassed... "Thankfully I seem to have grown out of that little issue." As Metis pulled out her phone Lacrimosa did the same, unable to remember if she had the other as well. She'd not even looked at the senshi phone at all during college so she wasn't even sure she'd had the other in her phone. But apparently past her was smart! "But I definitely agree, we need to hang out more. I need more friends and what better friends to hang out with the old ones~" A bright grin and for a moment she almost glad Metis couldn't entirely see it. It was weird being more open and... "well mannered" as she so often came across. She supposed she only had her boys to blame. "I definitely need to take you by my place of work sometime though. I'm sure you'd love the relaxation of the bathhouse~" Kaefaux kdjhgafdghs melody stop being all over the place. sorry if this doesn't seem too coherent or something OTLOTL
