The last couple of months had been filled with Holiday madness. With everything that had been happening around him, he really hadn't had the chance to just go out on a regular patrol. Even before everything happened in October, the whole court had dealt with some serious crazy. Sometimes he still felt a twinge of pain in his knee, a reminder that somehow they had all just barely gotten out of that whole situation alive. But, also a reminder that he hadn't been totally useless either. Even if Nischal had had to carry him into the hospital afterwards.
With everything that had been happening lately, he had seriously been skipping out on gathering energy for his court. Which they probably needed now more than every with the addition of the Mirrorscape. With that in mind, he started to wander around some of the more deserted streets, draining what he could from people that he passed by along the way. All the while he kept an eye out for any trouble along the way. The White Moon and The Negaverse weren't exactly happy with the DMC right now. Not that is was really their fault everyone got sucked into a mirror a while back. He had heard from others what had happened to Destiny City while they were all away. That lousy Queen had attempted to drain their city dry. Really, people ought to have been thanking them for dealing with her. Not that many people actually knew what had been going on behind the scenes. Crocus had been reluctant to tell others about everything himself.
No need to worry about something that was behind them, there was still a lot of work to be done for his court to realize their goals. He continued on, carefully staying out of sight and letting his mirrorwraith do it's job.

As much as the recent weather had betrayed him, Theodore still had things to do that required that he leave the safety and comfort of the Black mansion. His hat had been fixed, replaced, repaired, whatever and was back to it's pristine appearance as he trotted down the streets of the city as any good mau would do.
It didn't take him long to come across trouble and his pink dipped paws quickened their pace when they saw a darkly clad senshi doing business.
The senshi was not Miss Dia, nor were they even a corrupt senshi but they were still chaos...and...wait.
As Theodore drew near his nose twitched and pink eyes narrowed. "Excuse me!" He called, as loudly as he could while staying very far away from the mirrorwraith.

The streets were clear as far as Crocus could tell, but suddenly heard heard a voice calling out. It took him a moment to figure out where it was coming from though, but eventually he spotted the cat that seemed to be eyeing his mirror wraith uncertainty. He was quick to call the wraith back into the mirror shard before slipping it back into the little pouch he kept it in. Though, he did recall his last encounter with a talking cat, Katya had downright threatened him, so he hesitated just a bit himself.
"Was there something I could help you with?" He didn't sense any other power signatures in the area, so at least he could be sure someone wasn't going to be jumping him or anything. So, it would be okay to relax around him at least, plus he was awfully cute and fluffy. Plus the hat was too adorable for words, ah heck. Crocus couldn't stay cautious around him if his life depended on it. He bent down and balanced on his toes to be more level with the adorable guardian.

The thing that was giving him the heebie jeebies was called away and the tension in little cat shoulders relaxed, with Theodore trotting over to better examine this black-wearing-but-not-negaverse-senshi. He squinted the entire time as his paws led him to circle around the mirror senshi.
His nose twitched and his eyes got wide.
He could sense something within his companion that he rarely felt. Oh, oh!
There was unlocked potential.
"No," he said in a very serious voice. "But I think I can help you. Give me your pen."

Crocus had decided that, in fact, all cats had the potential to freak him out. Katya had down right threatened him when they first met. And this new one was circling around him like a predator. Call it Acubens making him paranoid, but he had been warned countless times not to trust the Negaverse. When he got a very serious 'No' in response to his previous question he just sort of clammed up a bit.
"My pen?" He bent his knees and balanced on his toes before holding his pen out toward the cat. He was a little nervous, but it wasn't like he was offering up his starseed or anything. He knew that the Dark Mirror Court also had to depend on cats, it was just too bad they didn't have any of their own. "Something wrong with it?" I didn't look damaged or anything, but he was sure the cat would know more about it than he did.

"Yes, your pen," he huffed, a little impatiently.
Once it was presented to him he scampered forward and paused, grinning in a way only cat's could. "You're in for a treat!" He chirped before his maw opened and he took the pen in his mouth then scooted back.
His front half pressed down, butt sticking in the air and wiggling excitedly before he jumped into the air, doing a cute backflip and when he landed, the pen had changed.
Proudly he dropped it and beamed. "It's better! It's improved you'll--" His brows furrowed and he pushed the pen towards the mirror senshi with a pout. "Wait. You're still the same. Shoot, um. We don't give you crystals like our senshi but...do whatever you do that's unique to your kind!"

Crocus could tell he was wearing on the mauvian's nerves. Well, he couldn't help that he was a little spooked by the first time he encountered one of his kind. She had been quite intimidating for such a small creature. He tried to look more relaxed and even smiled as he did the most adorable little back flip. It was adorable, but he had a feeling saying that out loud might get him into trouble.
That wasn't all that happened either. As the pen was returned to him he noticed that it did look different. A little fancier, but he hadn't changed. That seemed to stump his new feline friend.
"Oh...OH. Is that's what's happening here?" He knew that at some point he'd be stronger. Oddly though, he had never thought to ask how it worked or how it happened. What a terrible oversight in the grand scheme of things. He had asked Remarque and Acubens a ton of questions about the Court, but had neglected asking more personal questions. Well, now he was just embarrassed. It was a wonder he had even made it this far.
Unique to his kind? Oh, it made sense that he'd have to get his power from Mirrorspace. They had to rely on Guardians, but it didn't mean they had the power required to do more than upgrade the 'tech'. "Oh sure, I can do that." There wasn't exactly a mirror right here, but he knew where one was close by.
"There's a mirror down this way." Though, he hadn't been able to mirrorwalk on his own before. Usually he had either Acubens or Avior with him. However, as he approached the mirror it must have sensed he was ready. When he placed his hand against it he was surprised when it rippled underneath him. "Well, that's new." He stepped though and could feel the change. Once he was on solid ground he glanced down and, why yes, he had changed. More flowers, a longer shawl. He worried it would get in his way, but he couldn't keep the mauvian waiting forever, so he stepped back into the real world.
"Ah well, look at me. I look like a proper Prince Charming now." There was a smirk on his face and he stretched out his arms like he was trying out a new outfit for the first time. Which, in a way, he was.
"Thanks...um..sorry, I didn't even get you're name. I'm Crocus...and thanks! Again." He felt bad for being so awkward about this, but surely he would understand.

Theodore found the outfits that were specific to Crocus's court to be unfashionable and ugly, especially when compared to that of the senshi among the negaverse. He had half a mind to point it out, how negaverse senshi were far superior, but it was not the time nor the place.
Besides, because Crocus had been upgraded by him the outfit received some welcomed and attractive flair. In his opinion anyway.
Things touched by Theodore were destined for greatness and beauty, he was confident of that.
"Not too bad, better than most of the outfit's I've seen on your kind." If Crocus looked closely, he would have noticed that Theodore was almost puffing his dark chest out in pride.
"Almost-prince charming. Not quite enough..." He waved his paw around, pink nose wrinkling, "sparkle." Perhaps that could be fixed later.
"Theodore," the feline offered, holding himself tall as a cat could. "Theodore," he emphasized so the blonde couldn't possibly think it was acceptable to call him anything but. "And you're welcome. You should feel honored, really. I don't do this for any old senshi." leopleuradon one more from each and i think we can wrap!

Even Crocus knew that his Court members tended to be less....'flashy' then those in other factions. It wasn't something that bothered him all that much. At least he was warm in cold weather and relatively comfortable in the heat. That pretty much checked all the boxes he really cared about. As an added bonus the bands around his wrists could provide a nice punch when needed.
"Well, maybe next time I'll sparkle enough for your complete approval." Theodore seemed to think quite highly of himself, that must have been a trait most Mauvians had, though he only had a handful of examples to go on.
"Well, Theodore. Hopefully you can help me out next time too. And if I see you around sometime I'll be sure to say 'Hi'." For now though, it was getting late. Well, late by his standards. He had already been out for a while when Theodore approached him. Nishcal and Xi-Wang were probably starting to get concerned.
He hoped Theodore wouldn't mind that he couched down to give him a soft pat on his head. A handshake might be more appropriate, but that would be weird because he was a cat right? A little pat felt like a good equivalent exchange.

Ears flattened against his head when he was patted but Theodore didn't swat at him like he considered. Crocus had been complimenting him and even called him by his full, proper name.
He didn't care for the mirror senshi like he cared about the negaverse ones, but he liked this boy enough.
"I would be offended if you went to any other cat." He stuck his nose up in the hair haughtily. Pink eyes watched him warily before he stretched his long furry frame and turned his back on Crocus.
"Don't make me wait forever either, figure out that potential sooner rather than later," he instructed and just like that, he left.
