The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite, standing off to the side to monitor!

The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.

OOC RULES:

- THIS FIRST BATTLE YOU WILL HAVE 96 HOURS (4 days) to complete because I am starting them early. The rest will be 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.

- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.

- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.

- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco through Discord or PM!

THE MECHANICS

Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!

Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)

( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )

Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!

The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

The yearly Negaverse Tournament was frivolous--nothing more than a flashy show for SpecOps to parade around and show how proficient they were at killing each other. Zircon normally had better things to be doing with her time, like her research or her quotas (you know, things that furthered their cause), but with her first quarterly review on the way she decided it couldn't hurt to play Aurostibite's little game, if it scored her a few extra brownie points with the general-sovereigns. With the exception of the White Moon invasion and the preparations for Queen Laurelite, Zircon had spent most of her time since capture on recovery leave, and it was about time she reminded everyone that she could still be dangerous.

And, well, now that she was a general...perhaps a certain someone from SpecOps would be watching her parade around and see how proficient she was at killing.

With a stilted gait, she stepped into the ring in silence, keeping a respectful distance from the center with her hands at her sides. The general eyed her opponent from across the arena, but if she made any sort of judgement as to his appearance she kept it to herself.

Zircon: 40/40
Damage: n/a

Adamantine moved to a spot where both her and the small kitten she held were able to see the general of their team. Both Zircon and Adamantine were the most stoic of the group, but both were here to learn and play the little games.

She didn't have to say much as she took a seat, eyeing the other general with his blues and younger face, her hand resting on Silk's head with a small pet.

She didn't have to say much, as she was sure that Silk would say it for her.

He felt much stronger and more relaxed in his new uniform than he had in his previous one; but Gadolinite had not spent much time outside of his house in the last few months. Lev's return had kept him occupied in both good and bad ways, and his mind had been focused entirely on things outside of the Negaverse.

But he was back now, returned to service to the best of his abilities. He hadn't decided to take part in the tournament, but he came to spectate, because that was what Gadolinite did best. Watch, and entertain himself.

Besides, Jet was his general; he owed him that respect.

Jet knew that Zircon had been rescued from that hell they’d been trapped in two years prior, but he hadn’t seen her around since. Recovering he’d been told when he asked. He’d been recovering too. He’d also been promoted, and so had she.

“General Zircon,” he greeted as he stepped up when it was their turn, his voice a mix of relief and underlying energy; excitement he couldn’t quite hold back at the thought of a chance to fight her. She’d been injured, that much was clear. He’d heard she’d had her leg removed, but that she was clearly well enough to participate, and her accomplishments hadn’t gone unnoticed.

He wasn’t entirely she that she recognized him. He was a bit taller now. His hair was longer.

“You look well,” he said with a nod. Hand reached up so he could unclasp the cape from around his shoulders, tossing the unnecessary fabric to the side as he prepared for their fight.

Zircon was super cool in his books because she also hated Dia, and for that reason alone Silk thought she was super awesome. So when Adamantine took him along to go show her support, he absolutely had no problem going. Plus he got to hang out with Adamantine, WHICH WAS EVEN COOLER!

Anyways.

He was downright gleeful when he saw who she was fighting. He remembered that punk Jet from that one disastrous run in they had...

"GO GET HIM, ZIRCON!" Silk bellowed. "USE A LASER BEAM ON HIM! HE FREEZES LIKE A LITTLE b***h!"

Now if only Zircon could actually fire laser beams...

Something about the sound of Jet's voice broke the stoic wall Zircon hid behind--she blinked, eyelashes flickering down, and after a soft shudder of an inhale she nodded. "General Jet," she responded in kind, uncoiling the scarf that functioned as her capelet and letting it fall behind her. Had he been so tall? It was hard to say, with them crumpled up in cells.

She paused, catching the hitch to her breath. She couldn't afford to go back there right now.

"And you as well," she nodded, lifting one arm to call forth the behemoth that was her boomerang. "I hope you're well prepared."

She cast a sidelong glance to the voice in the crowd ruining her professionalism, but in spite of herself her lips twitched upwards.

It was happening a second year? Though only one of the sponsors remained, namely Aurostibite, there was no lack in enthusiasm. It must have some support from the powers that were that there was a repeat. Perhaps it was planned to be fully annual occurrence. The participation roster had some displays worth seeing, such as this. Sad that there wasn't a Pokemon-division for the personal Youma.

Tournaments had their uses in structured training. Even to the most reticent of combatants, a commanding officer could see that some live effort was made to learn about fists and faces. The rankings of Generals was certainly one of the more entertaining branches of this particular set-up. A chance to cheer or deride a superior officer publicly, with public proofs, was rare for the rank and file. It could be the hope for some mascot-like geniality to the be end result instead, or some sense of camaraderie based on the living demonstration that they were all fallible, still human, still learning and training as much as they assigned their subordinates.

General Zircon. Good luck. Schörl found a place to comfortably stand, cane and hands resting to the fore while Barbary slunk slowly from shoulder to drape ruglike over a chairback.

Jet’s eyes widened as Zircon pulled forth her weapon, looking at it in awe. It seemed a bit cumbersome, but expected her to be able to handle it quite well. He reached out his own hand to call forth his weapon, the weight of it settling comfortably into his hand.

“Anything less would be unacceptable,” he said to her comment about him being prepared, trying to stop himself from seeming too excited to be able to face off against her. He didn’t often get a chance to fight against opponents where he didn’t have to worry about holding back. His own recruits were still new, still coming into their power.

He darted forward and swung his weapon hard at her, his hand purposefully slipping down to the end of the pole, just above where the blade at that end rested, in order to give him a bit more of a reach. A fast fight would be better for both of them. Besides, if she didn’t send him to the hospital, he wanted to observe the other matches.

40/40 HP
12 - 2 = 10 attack

Weapon magic: A cut from the blade temporarily “petrifies” eight inches around the wound. Lasts up to fifteen seconds. The petrified area becomes hard and heavy, but within the 15 seconds, it can’t be cut again. The victim will also not bleed or feel pain from the wound while the petrification lasts.

It was her.

Zircon's eyes glanced only briefly away from her opponent, just long enough to catch sight of a dark green coat in the audience. Her breath caught in her throat, and her fingers curled around the straps of her boomerang, suddenly aware of the eyes on her.

It wasn't enough to enter the tournament--she had to perform well.

She moved to try and feint the polearm coming at her, but her knee-jerk reaction sent her the wrong way, straight to the business end of the blade. She buckled backwards as he pierced the meat of her shoulder, hissing in pain--and feeling her center of gravity fall off-course as the skin under her jacket deadened and petrified.

Zircon didn't stop to evaluate this new circumstance--she dropped her stony shoulder and swung her boomerang like she was aiming for a home run.

Zircon: 30/40
Damage: 10 - 2 = 8

His attack landed, but so did hers. Jet recoiled back as her giant boomerang hit him squarely across his shoulder, and for a moment he wouldn’t have been surprised if she’d dislocated it.

He gasped and cursed under his breath, but it only made the grin on his face bigger. He was glad. He hadn’t underestimated her for this very reason. She was very experienced, that was obvious. And he had a lot to learn from her.

This time, he didn’t use his blade to attack. It was the pole itself aimed across her stomach, wanting to try and incapacitate her, if only temporarily. If he could get in close enough, she wouldn’t be able to swing her boomerang like she had before.

She had to give it to Jet--he was fast, and he stood strong against a hit that could total cars. Even through the pain, he was grinning--who did he think he was, giving her that cocky look--and on a whim she dismissed the heft of her weapon, reaching out to close the distance between them. If she could get him to the ground, then he wouldn't be able to use that reach against her.

However, as it turned out, Zircon still had tragically short arms, and Jet still had a polearm. She wheezed when his weapon connected on her torso, staggering off-balance to one side. Her outstretched hand clawed against air, but before he had the chance to punish her for her overextension, the general teleported back to the edge of the ring, clutching at her stomach and struggling to catch her breath.

Adamantines gaze flickered at the other general, who was keeping with her own.

Part of her wished that Zircon did have laser beam powers, but that was a power dedicated to cats alone. Her hand ran over Silk again and her head watched the struggle between the generals with a fascination.

It was good to see how others fought, and this was her first time seeing the Beta work the way she did.

Dear me, dear my. Two grave hits and nary much an answer. Is it too early back from rehabilitation? Or.... Hazel eyes tracked to the reappearance of the smaller general when she apparated at the far edge of the ring. They looked at the set of hip, the wear of weight in the thigh, the not-thigh. Age and experience, with so many years, should count for something in a fight, even against so youthful and spry an opponent.

The difference between them, then, wasn't what they both had, but what one didn't? If the battle continued so, nigh one-sided, it might be a sign that putting metal inside of the Man didn't mean that one could work as hard as Youma-flesh could. It could be reason to call for a conscripted, grafted replacement.
