The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite, standing off to the side to monitor!
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.
OOC RULES:
- THIS FIRST BATTLE YOU WILL HAVE 96 HOURS (4 days) to complete because I am starting them early. The rest will be 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco through Discord or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!
General Tourmaline was wearing a grin from ear to ear and had been from the moment she'd found out that she was to be going up against General Arsenopyrite. It seemed as though time had passed well enough for each of them if they'd both risen in rank since their last meeting. If she was fortunate he'd have picked up a few moves along the way so they could give everyone who decided to watch a good show.
Arseno sighed a bit as he stepped into the room. This would be his second time participating in this tournament, and hopefully he would do better than the last time. Right.
When he finally got in, he immediately noticed Tourmaline and smiled, even if she couldn't see it. He had heard that she had finally reached General rank, just as he had done, and he wondered if he could do any better against her.
Tourmaline flexed her fingers in her gauntlets, letting the tips of her claws gleam in the light of the arena. She then laced her fingers together, stretching her arms above her head and rolling her shoulders. When she was satisfied that she was settled enough to begin she regarded her opponent again.
"I hope you've come prepared, General. I won't go any easier on you today than I did the last time we met." With that said she was off, rushing towards the other General in a wave of black and bright pink in an attempt to start off by knocking him off of his feet.
((edit: or I could totally screw up my roll, please ignore this one since I didn't even fill out the dice amount))

Arseno smirked. At least she wasn't going to go easy on him. That was good, he didn't need to be coddled. "That's fine with me. I hope you'll be able to see some improvement." Not that he particularly wanted to please her, but he did want to show that he had at least earned the position of General.
He quickly summoned his weapon, though he wondered if he should really use it. He still hadn't quite mastered the thing, after all, most of his 'opponents' lately had been civilians rather than anything he could actually fight. But his opponent was already rushing him, and managed to hit him in the arm as he moved away, ripping his outfit a bit and causing a cut. Those gauntlets hurt!
Quickly, while he was to the side, he swung his pick at her, hoping that it would hit. [36 HP]
In her brief bouts of arrogance, Tourmaline was convinced that everyone should want to please her-- from time to time, at the very least. She didn't like to be disappointed and she liked to be entertained. It made boring situations downright awful and so she tried to avoid them.
Good thing that Arsenopyrite had no intentions of boring her and every intention of giving it his best.
Tourmaline's eyes flashed as he took a swing at her with his pick, the metal tip of it catching on a chainmail link of one gauntlet. She hissed as her arm was yanked, shoulder pulling in a way that was decidedly less than pleasant, countering by lashing out with her other hand with the intent to take a solid swipe at Arseno's weapon-wielding hand's wrist.
Magic Add On: A scratch from Tourmaline's 'claws' stings; more than just an average scratch would, this sting feels like burning (think hand sanitizer on a paper cut) around the location of the scratch and lasts for the duration of two posts before the stinging sensation fades. Along with the extended duration of the stinging comes the loss of sensation near the scratch as well (example: a hand scratched by the claws would become tingly while burning, unable to grasp the weapon it was holding). The numbness lasts for one round turn, even as the stinging persists for the second round.

Faustite watched from the edge of the room, an elbow pressed gently into his bound and cupped hand. Fingers hung motionless in front of his lips while he watched the pair engage each other, bluster and strength finally coming to a head. Tourmaline looked the better off of the pair; experience informed him that Arsenopyrite hadn't as much a head for combat as for medicine, but Tourmaline sported the armor and the weapons for squaring off against an enemy.
Lazily, his gaze drifted from the stark pinks and blacks of the lesser-known general to the drab, swaddled cloths of the more acquainted general Arsenopyrite. His gaze finally lighted on the weapon at hand — a sickle by look, and one none too helpful.
And what do you plan to do with that? She has steel gauntlets. You have a poor attempt at a gardening tool, with an equally useless counterweight. You'll do more damage to yourself by the time she lands her first hit.
Time to see if your fighting style is as spotty as your moral doctrine.
It seemed that something had worked as Arseno managed to yank her arm the wrong way. Though after this he would make sure to ask her about any injuries. He probably shouldn't show much mercy, but he couldn't help it.
Arseno thought he saw Faustite somewhere up in the stands, and was a bit surprised that the agent would even be there to spectate. After all they hadn't ever really gotten along. And it still stung to be called such a hypocrite. Arseno would show him, he had to. Even if that meant losing he would show the annoying captain what he could do.
Unfortunately right then tourmaline managed to get a hit in, and he cursed as he felt his wrist suddenly go a bit numb and a large stinging sensation followed. He almost dropped his weapon, but managed to hold onto it. However, he knew he wouldn't be able to use it with the numbing, and willed it away, before he tried to grab her shoulder and a send a fist towards her face.
A look of sheer satisfaction crossed her face at the surprise on Arsenopyrite's as her attack landed. It was just enough arrogance that his fist caught her soundly in the jaw, sending her stumbling back away from him, tripping over the length of her coat and tumbling to the ground.
General Tourmaline hit the floor with enough force to knock the wind out of her, properly dazed by the man she had clearly underestimated despite the difference in their size in his favor. It was that completely foolish amount of arrogance that was always getting her in trouble-- This time no different than any other.
Brash.
Uvarovite's voice was in her head, disappointment pounding in her ears as she tried to shake it off while pushing herself up to her feet while tugging at the sleeves of her coat. It was a lovely fashion accessory, but a damned nuisance when it came down to getting dirty.
Keep your head. Focus.
"I am focused," she snarled, spring green eyes gleaming as she tossed the offending object of clothing to the ground, rocking on her heels to steady herself as she prepared for whatever Arsenopyrite might throw her way next. Now she was ready for him.
It was time to give whoever was out there watching a damn good show.
Huffing, Faustite rolled his eyes for as much as it showed. "Bravado doesn't suit over bruises and broken bones." He muttered mostly to himself, though the room's acoustics might carry voice to combatant ears.
Maybe Arsenopyrite would fumble his way through this one after all. Pity that.
S***! That was a bad idea! Arseno thought to himself as he nursed his wrist. Unfortunately, when he had gone to punch Tourmaline, he had used the fist that was currently numbed and didn't quite make the fist right, which meant more pain on his end, though now he wished it was numb considering there was even more pain than the stinging sensation. He was pretty sure he had twisted it somehow. If he was lucky in this fight, he could just wait it off with the faster healing he got as an agent, but if it was bad enough he would have to go and see a doctor.
Tourmaline had been knocked off her feet, which gave him time to think about his next move. He would have to use his left hand from now on, which meant that he wouldn't have the accuracy or strength that he had with his dominant right hand.
It was times like these that he wished he was ambidextrous.
He decided to try out his weapon once again, but this time summoning it to his left hand. He would have to make this count, since he was wielding the weapon in a way that he wasn't used to. Tourmaline was up on her feet now, and Arseno teleported to where she was and took a swipe at her with his pick.
Tourmaline might have been angry but that didn't make her any less delighted to see Arsenopyrite disappear from in front of her and reappear closer. His actions were met with a wicked grin, clearly impressed that he'd learned how to teleport and use that to his advantage. Good on him.
Good on her as well because it meant that she didn't have to waste precious energy in closing the distance between the two of them again. She also had that flickering moment where he faded out before reappearing again to brace herself. While she might not know where he was coming from she could adjust her stance to prepare, closing her eyes to keep from relying on that now useless sense in favor of giving focus to sound.
The rattle of his weapon's chain was all she needed to give her a direction, clawed hand coming up to deflect the blow again as it came down. In removing her coat she had taken away a key layer of her protective 'armor', the pick raking its way across her shoulder before she could whirl to knock it away. An angry red line welled up at the broken skin and as Tourmaline turned it was to meet Arsenopyrite with a wicked grin.
"Maybe you should do all of your fighting with your left hand. It certainly improves your swing." Then she disappeared just as he had-- well, not quite just as he had. Instead of teleporting away Tourmaline dropped back closer to the ground, sweeping a low kick out at the other General's feet in an attempt even the field by knocking him flat on his back at least once too while her own head was still reeling.

The stinging was now finally going away, but not the pain that said he had messed up his wrist somehow, so he was still unable to use his right hand for now. And Tourmaline had been ready for him, managing to block part of his attack, though he had managed to scrape her a bit. He would see that she got patched up if needed.
She said something to him, and he wasn't sure if he should take it as a compliment, a joke, or a light-handed insult. He didn't know her well enough.
But it seemed that since he had introduced teleporting into their fight, she had decided to use it herself and she sent out her leg to knock him over. It worked, and he felt himself falling, but as he did so, he sent his weapon towards her, hoping to hit her somehow. Somehow, he managed to fall straight onto his side instead of the back of his head or his hand, and rolled a bit away, before trying to get up again.
The curve of his pick hooked her boot and as he went down so too did she. Angry to once again find herself on her back in a position she didn't want to be in, Tourmaline lashed out in retaliation with a solid kick, fully intending to ram her heel anywhere it could make contact with.
