The tournament is taking place in the Castle in Negaspace, in a large room that has been designated towards the event. It is very spacious and there is a ring where the participants will fight, as well as seats around it for viewers. You are greeted by General Aurostibite, standing off to the side to monitor!
The rules are simple: fight your opponent using whatever methods you have available to you - physical strength or magic - and whoever is left standing at the end is the winner! Aurostibite adds, in a tone of voice that doesn't quite indicate whether he's joking or not, to please try not to kill anyone.
OOC RULES:
- THIS FIRST BATTLE YOU WILL HAVE 96 HOURS (4 days) to complete because I am starting them early. The rest will be 72 hours. If you are unable to do so, or something happens that prevents things or slows you down, you can just roll the dice without adding in RP to determine the outcome. However, please do your best to RP out the battle, this option is only for those situations where it becomes necessary to do so.
- Dice rolling is mandatory! I know it can be frustrating but this keeps everything fair and even.
- Anyone is free to pop into a battle RP, they are open to spectators, whether you are participating in the tournament or not! Any Negaverse agent or Corrupt or Corrupt Cat is free to view the battles, regardless of whether or not they were in signups.
- If you have any questions, please contact kuropeco through Discord or PM!
THE MECHANICS
Each person roll 1d20 in their first post! The person with the higher number is the first to attack!
Lieutenant / Basics - 20 HP / 1d8-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) Captain / Super - 30 HP / 1d10-2 attack (a 0 is a miss) General / Eternal - 40 HP / 1d12-2 attack (a 0 is a miss)
( how it works: roll the dice - if you get a 4, subtract 2 = your attack is 2! and so on and so forth. If you get a 6, subtract 2 = your attack is 4! )
Roll dice -> RP out attack -> wait for opponent to attack back -> roll dice again until someone's HP is depleted first!
The person with HP remaining after someone gets to 0 is the winner!

Entering into a tournament style fight had not been something high up on Uvarovite's list of things that sounded fun but Tourmaline had insisted. She had signed up the rest of their squad and said it would be, in not so many words, a rather bad example if he stayed out of things. So despite his reservations he signed up anyway and supposed it couldn't technically hurt. Even if it was likely to hurt more than he wanted. Depending on who his opponents were there was the good chance that he wouldn't come out of this unscathed. There hadn't been rules against using his Pet though so perhaps it wouldn't be too bad. Stepping into the ring he summoned his weapon for the moment, wrapping one end of the chain around his arm for leverage.

Not one to allow a chance to get a good fight in, Moonstone had opted to join in Aurostibite's tournament for the second year. Her first opponent wasn't unfamiliar to her. A large framed man, good. A match that wouldn't be entirely boring then, one could hope.
The captain summoned her weapon and let the winged edge rest against her shoulder, dark eyes glittering as she waited for the signal. She was ready - had been, the moment her booted feet had stepped into the ring - all her senses wide open and focused on Uvarovite like a predator with prey.
Again, the admonition 'Try not to kill anyone.' yes yes, she knew. Try. The operative word was try.
Moonstone flashed her teeth, nodding to her opponent. "Captain."

HP: 30 // Attack: 2Knowing who is opponent was didn't make his decision to enter the tournament feel any better. There were some he'd have been alright with stepping into a ring with. Moonstone though? She wasn't something to be toyed with and the Captain had a feeling that he wouldn't make it much further than this in the running. Despite that, knowing that he would get an earful from Tourmaline if he didn't at least put up some semblance of a fight, he was willing to face off against her. If nothing else it would be a good test of how well his Pet fought with him against someone better suited a a fight than one of the idiotic senshi. "Captain." he nodded his head in recognition of her greeting, letting his weapons swing in a circle beside him as he spoke. So far the ball and chain had been underestimated so that was one advantage he perhaps had against the other officer. Smirking he shifted his footing before swinging the ball out toward her far faster than it would seem possible. It had taken work but now he knew just when on the ark to let the chain out to properly use the force and weight behind his weapon.

Tourmaline had twittered with excitement the moment she saw Uvarovite versus Moonstone on the competition bracket. She made sure to find a comfortable seat close to the arena for proper viewing, absolutely delighted by the prospect of seeing the two battle one another. Moonstone was impressive and Uv...
Well, her opinions in regards to the silver haired man were hardly secret amongst those who knew the two of them.

HP: 28 // Attack: 10Moonstone stood still, allowing his attack to strike, moving only at the last moment to assure that she took the brunt to the side of her shoulder, where the impact would be spread out and rendered least effective. She had seen many weapons similar to his in use by hunters - not quite the same, but with a kindred concept. She understood just how effective they could be, and how to render them useless - in a general sense.
As they fought, she'd become more familiar with the ins and outs of his weapon...probably. Maybe. Or she could just give in and have fun with it.
As the ball and chain dropped, Moonstone laughed and caught it, yanking with one hand and surging forward at the same time as she released it, using the momentum to propel herself into Uvarovite, jumping and swinging her totem bat viciously down at his shoulder with the sort of care-free laughter one might hear from a young woman running through the surf, not trying to break bones.

Recovery had kept Zircon out of contact with Moonstone, which was a shame--it was rare to find someone who kept the priorities of the Negaverse in line. She watched the proceedings towards the back of the room with a somber expression--however, when she heard the crunch of weapon on leather, she tilted her head and blinked, an expression that said 'not bad'.
Moonstone certainly had her work cut out for her.

Titanlåvenite didn't sign up for any of the rounds; Daily combat training in the Rift's broken and ruined Colosseum had found him less than one hand's worth of practice partners, so the draw of training with or against him was notably ranked at nothing. What blame could there be in that? It would be a sparring match of someone very fast chasing and drawing blood like a cheetah hunting an elephant: Not Very Exciting. The social aspects probably came into play, as well, in the perceived detriments of working with an officer who had left the Special Operations as he had.
That reminiscence, of division changes and spit drying on stone, had driven th choice of which match, after the announcements and thrum of excitement here and there among the gossip about a tournament, General Titanlåvenite was interested in seeing. Captain Moonstone had come from that hall nearly on his heels. They'd neither been people of many words, but they'd exchanged names. And He felt something else: respect.
Theirs wasn't a close tie, but he felt it well merritted and worthy of paying time to. He wanted to see her fight, to show his support of her mettle in a public way. He was late for the start only for other thoughts of who might, for should was not a word to be used with Princes, enjoy such an outing as well: Queen Laurelite. There is no use taking one step back and forth in the hall for another thirty minutes not watching the fight and not going to hre chambers to ask if she should like to attend. It isn't rightful that a Queen process alone. But visiting any single, lower match would not do either would it? It could be read as favoring one or both of those combatants, instead of a boost to the hearts of all the Negaverse that their Queen come and bless them with a break from her busy schedule. The final matches are more right. I can go after this and see if she is in, and if she would be willing, and if I or some other I can run and bring to her is best to get the doors for her.

HP: 20 // Damage: 16Uvarovite had expected the other Captain to be good, knowing her reputation, but he hadn't quite expected her to be as good as she was. So far no one had known how to counter his weapon so he was caught off guard when Moonstone let the ball hit her and grabbed it. His footing wasn't good enough to keep him from being yanked in her direction and without the warning or the time to brace himself there was no way to do much about the force of her weapon hitting his shoulder. He felt hit deep, the force jarring him and taking him to one knee with the impact. By the grace of their abilities he didn't have a broken shoulder but it was a close thing. He wouldn't be able to use his weapon as well from now on but that was of no consiquence. He planned for that sort of thing. Snarling he set a hand on the ground knowing his Pet was lurking close by at all times. The youma came to his call easily, the ground under them rumbling as the creature made it's move. surging up through the ground under the woman's feet. There was no escaping it's jaws as they snapped close, giving the woman a shake before throwing her away from it's master. The Pet could have eaten the woman easily, should have, but Master had said not to kill his opponents. syrie (( Syrie messed up the dice roll and told me to roll with it and use the wrong dice for my first attack too to make it even. So we're making this work ))

HP: 12 // Attack: 7He looked surprised. He looked angry.
Moonstone liked both expressions on him, booted feet settling back to the gritty arena flooring as she geared up for another pass - pressing offense was the best defense for dealing with someone like him. He wasn't even as big as Titan! Big enough that he could be a problem, but not so big he couldn't be brought to heel.
Ah, he was making the most beautiful, animal sound - and putting hand to ground. Was he going to kick her feet out from under her? Moonstone wanted to see! She waited, a hairsbreadth too long and paid for her indulgence as the massive jaws of a youma snapped around her legs, her thighs, worrying her like a toy before sending her flying.
Pain shot through her limbs as she rolled a landing and regained footing - something in her foot was broken, she could tell, and it felt like ribs had been cracked. The ache in her femur said it was at best bruised, at worst cracked as well. Not good.
She'd been careless. Just because she was not to bring Wasgo in did not mean that others couldn't bring their Youma. The handicap was for her. "Very nice, what a good partner you have." Moonstone went right back in for Uvarovite, right for his head. Incapacitate, not kill.

HP: 13 // Damage: 7Bringing the Pet had probably been the only thing stopping him from having his skull cracked given how strong the other Captain's attack had been and he was grateful for the bond he had for the creature. Despite what others thought Youma weren't just baseless tools to be used. They were proper partners that deserved to be respected. Despite that, as Uvarovite pulled himself up he gritted his teeth as the pull in his arm. Not broken but nowhere near useful. Something was wrong and he wasn't going to be able to use his arm properly. Even slight moves sent a spike of pain through his arm. He didn't get long to deal with that though, despite the Pet curling around him Moonstone was a fighter, one obviously trained but someone far better than him. He saw the staff coming this time but despite Pet also watching he wasn't fast enough. The staff grazed his head as he tried to yank himself away, causing his ears to ring for a moment as it continued down and caught his ribs as well. The Pet screeched, large armored head coming around to to knock the other Captain away from it's Master. It's head collided with Moonstone, hoping to aim for a full body shot. It needed to stop her from hurting it's Master.

HP: 5 // Attack: 7Any other day, Moonstone might have reached out to gently caress the beautiful youma, to heap praise on it for being such a credit to it's kind. To laud her opponent for having such a strong bond between them, similar to the one she had with Wasgo, but this was a tournament battle. She did not have time for that. Not time for the dull ache in her chest at Wasgo's lack next to her side, the sharp ache of bone and sinew strained too far but pushed further, and certainly not for the sharper pain that came when the youma's head slammed into her torso and sent her skittering back on the particulate covering the arena flooring.
Snap. She felt a rib give. The Youma didn't follow through, it was protecting it's Master. Moonstone spat blood from a cut in her mouth and smiled, teeth stained pink.
The captain threw her totem bat at Uva and at the same time teleported behind him and the youma so that she could leap and deliver a kick to his slightly less protected back while man and beast were hopefully distracted by the oncoming weapon.

While Tourmaline had gotten the pleasure of seeing Wasgo and Moonstone in action before, she hadn't seen Uvarovite fighting alongside his creature-- seen it before, yes, but in battle?
The pink and charcoal General let out a low whistle, shifting to the edge of her seat as she watched the brawl between the two. Moonstone was holding her own beautifully, fantastically, phenomenally. The Captain was a force to be reckoned with, like all of the fury of nature in motion. If Tourmaline could raise herself to anyone's standards it would be those of the battle-ready captain.
Of course, Uv had brought his pet out to play and there was no sight of Wasgo. That was enough to cause Tourmaline to pout-- not because she wanted to see Uvarovite beaten senseless by Moonstone while Wasgo battled against Uv's 'Pet', but because Wasgo was every bit as beautiful and deadly as his mistress.
"We want Wasgo!" she cheered from the stands, knowing that if Moonstone actually brought Wasgo out she was going to seriously owe Uv later.

HP: 6 // Damage: 6Teleportation. Uvarovite rarely used the ability himself unless he was traveling and had never given much thought to use it in battle. The Caption though had apparently learned to use it and had no such qualms about 'cheating' by moving herself across the ring. The Pet caught the thrown weapon easily enough, the wood jarring against it's teeth before it spat out the staff. Not soon enough though to protect it's Master. Uvarovite grunted as Moonstone slammed into his back. Whatever in his shoulder that had been strained pushed to the limit and finally snapping against the force of the Captain. Uvarovite knew his entire side would be black and blue as well. He could think of that later though. Right now he had to deal with the Captain. A growl rumbled in his chest as he used his other arm to pull his weapon back toward him at the same time as Pet's tail came around to trap Moonstone near it's master. The large metal ball came around aimed for Moonstone's already injured side. "Wonderful trick." He grinned, lip split and blood staining his jaw, as he turned just in time to see her as his weapon made contact.

HP: 0Once more, the lines of Uvarovite's body read surprise at her move. Not the feint with her weapon, no - that was common enough, for weapons could be summoned and desummoned with no great expenditure of energy - but the teleportation. Did he never think to use it as more than simple transport? It was a viable battle tactic, if one metered such things out properly, or traveled often by Youma, as she did. Wasgo ever at her side, ever her companion, made for a larger array of tactics than perhaps the average captain would think to utilize.
Still.
Her attack landed, but she was caught. Like a wild beast, she felt his growl, felt the closing trap - metaphorical and otherwise - and knew she was lost. Moonstone smiled, beatific, at the other captain, swallowing blood and knowing the game had been won by a youma-captain team and that was only right. "I can teach you, sometime."
Had she brought Wasgo in, the battle would have been hers, far more rapidly.
He had not bored her. The battle was glorious, the pain sharp and real as his weapon set the remaining cracked ribs to full breaks. She had struggled up to that point, but now? Now it was fine. She had lost, she acquiesced. Victory to Uvarovite and his beautiful youma.
"I concede victory." Moonstone sounded...happy.
