There were times that Wavellite knew that perhaps she was playing a dangerous game with being in the Negaverse. Just because so far she had been so utterly lucky not to run into any…really hostile people, that didn’t mean that there weren’t those out there who would try to hurt her.

Of course, it made it a little difficult to defend herself with only a folded square of paper in the shape of a boat. She would have to keep working hard and try to impress Ashanite enough so he could finagle a promotion for her, so she could get a weapon that was a little more…well.

Useful

For now, Wavellite was wondering around the park, rather aimlessly, trying to decide if it was worth the effort to finally meet her energy quota. Or try to, at least. The wondering continued until she felt an order aura nearby, and a bright grin crossed the lieutenant’s face. She knew that slightly weaker aura well, it had to be Xenia.

Quickly, she moved towards it, not realizing until the senshi was in her sight that Xenia no longer felt like this. She felt on equal grounds of Wavellite herself…and this was just some…blue haired…

Boy..

Crossing her arms over her chest, the lieutenant scoffed. “Well. This is a bitter disappointment. Here I thought you were going to be my girlfriend.”

"Sorry to disappoint you," Almary found himself saying - and meaning it, which he blamed entirely on having encountered an actually helpful officer not too long ago. He'd been in the park when he felt the chaos aura, and despite there being a certain amount of risk involved, he had been... well. Curious.

There just wasn't much information available to him and other chibis, so the only way to learn more was to take the risk and find out what he could on his own.

"I didn't realize you were waiting for someone."

But this was kind of interesting, he realized, because this was an officer, who had expected him to be someone else. An officer and a senshi, then? Is that what this meant? And they were dating? He didn't even know you could do that across factions! (He wasn't sure how he felt about it, either, apart from intrigued. How would that even work?)

Wavellite huffed, rolling her eyes. “I wasn’t waiting for anyone. I just got confused. She used to have a weak little aura like yours is all that I’m trying to say. But then she got stronger so.” She shrugged, deciding that she didn’t like this boy, if only for the fact that he wasn’t Xenia.

“What’s it to you, anyway? Why are you just standing around letting people like me get close, hm? What if I were to decide that I was going to take your starseed? You would have been such an easy target, all I’d have to do…” She hesitated a split second and then moved swiftly towards him.

She couldn’t teleport…but she was fast at least.

When she reached him she had summoned her paper boat and gave him a good whack on the head. “I’d just have to reach in and grab it, and then you’d be nothing. Dead. Gone forever. You need to be on guard, senshi. Not everyone’s as nice as I am.”

Pausing again, the lieutenant got a wicked gleam in her eyes. “Unless…you’re like my girlfriend and you want to join our side too? Because, I would put a good word in to my general if that’s the case.”

Oh, so it was going to go like this. Almary was, for a moment, almost disappointed. But really, what was he excepting? Not everyone was nice - in fact, it was definitely a rarity among an enemy faction. Though as far as attacks went, there were definitely things worse than being hit over the head with a paper boat.

So while he did tense, preparing for any further attacks, he wasn't as wary as he might be - especially since she was apparently willing to threaten him rather than actually do what she was threatening. And since she had been kind enough to threaten him instead of actually hurting, he could afford to be honest about it.

"I've thought about it," he admitted, though didn't add that thinking about it was pretty quickly followed by a 'no', if just because your side actually seems to train their newbies. Mine keeps shoving little kids onto the front line with nothing but the target on their backs. But while I appreciate the offer, it's not something I could decide on my own."

Stepping back - and eyeing her boat thoughtfully, because maybe that was where the Negaverse was weak: if it gave some kind of training but not tools - Almary readied himself to guard against any further strikes. "There are people important to me I'd have to consider first."

Wavellite paused when he mentioned having thought about it, and a grin spread across her face. “You have? Well…that’s something then!” She seemed genuinely excited by the news and nodded quickly. “We do train our recruits. I’ve had plenty of training and I feel quite confident and comfortable…the structure of having someone above you, like I have my General…it’s really helpful.”

She tossed the paper boat into the air, letting it disappear back to…wherever it was that it went.

“I’ve noticed that you senshi don’t really get any guidance at all and that a lot of you seem to be confused and lost and lonely…and I promise it’s not like that in the Negaverse. I’ve never been confused or lost. And…well. Maybe I’m a little lonely, but only because most people are so much older…there aren’t many people who are around my age, or if there are, I just haven’t met them yet.”

It seemed perfectly reasonable, and when he mentioned important people, she nodded again. “Could I meet them too? I would love to have you and your friends come and join. We could all be friends then…I’d like that a lot.”

This seemed to have been the right thing to say, even though Almary felt a bit nasty for both the lie and the implications of it. This negaverse officer seemed to genuinely believe in her side, though, and if this would get him out of this mess without more of a fight that he... really didn't have much chance at, then he'd do whatever it took.

And some of what he found himself saying was true anyway, which was just sad.

"That's true," he agreed, expression going thoughtful. "A lot of the people on your side are older. Which is kind of another point in their favor, since they're not powering up kids under ten."

... He was probably going to be bitter about that forever, thinking on it now. As for meeting Subra and Massalia, though. Well.... Subra, maybe, but he didn't think Massalia would handle it well. "Maybe?" He offered, a little hesitantly. "I'd have to ask them first, and make sure they know it's not just a trap or something like it..."

“Kids under ten shouldn’t be fighting anything that’s outside of their imaginations.” Wavellite sounded almost horrified as she spoke. “You...were brought into this before you were even ten? Why would your side bring children...like little kids into a literal war where they could get killed? I tell you, there are some nasty people in my group, I won’t deny that. They can be bloodthirsty--adults, you know.”

She rolled her eyes but still looked rather repulsed. “Were...were you under ten? Did they bring you into this so young? No wonder you’re so lost and confused...and nobody even stayed with you to help you figure things out? What the ******** reached out and put a hand on Almary’s shoulder, giving a little squeeze. “But, if you want to meet up again, I really would like to meet your friends. I won’t hurt them, I promise. And I won’t ever hurt you again if I see you, I’d like to be friends, if you’re up for it. I mean…” She grinned, her eyes sparkling with the thought of bringing more people over to the Negaverse. “I mean you and I might be on the same side one day, so we should be friends. Obviously.”
