Today was Career Day for the freshling classes at the Academy. Every year the school hosts a variety of nightmares to come share their jobs with the students. They would be exposed to a similar situation as seniors in the form of the college job fair. All this was the help the students prepare for the future at an early age. For now all the freshlings had to do was listen to the guest speakers and answer a simple question "What do you want to be when you grow up?". This isn't a uncommon question for children to be asked but this time it would be submitted in writing and used to help shift the child's curriculum. Of course the Academy knew better than to pursue the idea of being a super hero or something from childlike wonder, but for the kids who knew where they wanted to go it was a valuable tool.

Winter starred at the piece of paper. The question puzzled her since there was no right or wrong answer. Of course there were no right or wrong answers for opinions but this answer wasn't an opinion it was a fact. She paused and thought it over in her head all the people they had seen today. The first group of people were from the culinary profession...a chef, a baker, and a cake decorator. Winter scrunched her face. She liked to eat food but she didn't really like cooking. That would be a no. She crossed a couple more off the list that were definite no's. She couldnt see herself in construction.

After eliminating most of the page she had it narrowed down to three. The first possible profession was a Librarian. She spent most of her days in the library and Winter figured she'd enjoy a job surrounded by books and helping people do research or just check out books on stuff they like. The second choice was something to do with plants. The colleges offered majors in Botany and Herbology. Winter however was more interested in the research of and uses for magical flora and fauna. Perhaps there was a job in magical botantica? She decided to leave that as a question mark. The last job, was one suggested by her councilor Miss Megan. They said Winter should consider being a teacher. She told Winter the reason she became a councilor was to help kids like she used to be and that Winter could do the same. As a teacher she could help educate freshlings like herself and give them more to learn. Winter liked the idea of being able to share everything she knew with other people.

Starring at her options, Winter make a decision and began to write on her paper. "I don't know what I want to be when I'm grown. There are a lot of things I could be. I could be a librarian who helps people find books. I could be a researcher who finds new uses for plants. I could be a teacher who tells kids like me its okay to be smart and want to learn, then do everything in my power to give them knowledge. All of these would be good jobs for me and I would do it all if i could. For now though I don't know what I want to be for sure. Sincerely, Winter"
