Things were going so utterly well for Elvira. Now that she had a girlfriend…and now that Arias and Nick seemed to have become a lot more stable…and now that her cousin was back in town…there was absolutely nothing that could go wrong. Not ever.
Maybe not even ever again.
She was on a patrol, feeling as though every step she took caused her to bounce into the air, almost like she was on the moon…or just almost like she was lighter than gravity…it was great.
…it was great until she felt the chaos aura, that alone gave her pause, but when she saw who it was…saw the bright, beautiful pink and flowery fuku of…of just who it was, her heart seemed to freeze, and she stopped where she was, eyes growing as big as saucers, every nerve in her body telling her to start running, but her heart telling her to stop and talk…that maybe she could help him…that maybe…this time they could actually become friends.
Her brain wasn’t really doing anything except sitting in her head like a lump, and Elvira stared at the senshi, and then swallowed.
…Maybe he hadn’t seen her yet.
Maybe she could still make a run for it.

Though Haumea hadn't had any particular plan for his patrol on this night, he was thrilled that he'd yielded to his sense of duty. He'd sensed the order aura and had been so careful to give no sign that he'd noticed it or it's owner. And that had been quite difficult once he'd seen it was lovely little Elvira. He still owed her for the damage she'd done to his knee.
Not to mention his promise to drag her kicking and screaming into Metallia's embrace.
Still, a quick little sideways glance had told him that she'd noticed him. Therefore, she'd be on her guard. Therefore, he grinned fiercely, he would play with her for now. Maintaining a facade of serenity, he turned on his heel and allowed himself to be swallowed up by the nighttime shadows. And once he was certain Elvira wouldn't be able to see him, he teleported to a spot just behind her where he could follow her, but remain hidden.
Let the cat and mouse games commence....

Elvira couldn’t even begin to describe how relieved she felt when the corrupt had simply walked away, and after another moment she was able to take a few steps, more than fully intending to just get home and get safe. She was stronger than he was, she could hold her own, she was sure but…
But he honestly scared her.
And…it took a lot to scare her…but he was her own personal demon. Well. At least he hadn’t noticed her there. She was safe for now.
…At least until suddenly she felt the aura move from somewhere in front of her and to the left to behind her and she stiffened again, a soft whimper escaping without her permission.
She didn’t like this at all. And why did she have to be in a spot where the streetlights didn’t reach. It was so dark here…
She shouldn’t have gone out tonight. She should have just stayed home. Called Ciel…done something…besides this.
Quickly, Elvira turned, her eyes straining against the darkness. “H-hello?”

Remaining silent, Haumea smirked a little to himself and kept carefully out of sight. This was a great deal more fun than chasing after the little fool. And what a little fool she was, he thought. Clearly terrified of him, yet she didn't do the sensible thing and try to run.
With the barest hint of a whispering chuckle, Haumea teleported again, this time to a patch of shadows above where little Elvira stood. He'd still be hidden and the more confusion and fear he could sow, the more he was going to enjoy himself.
Oh, they were going to have such fun together!

Quietly Elvira crossed her arms across her chest and continued walking. She was trembling like a leaf and felt as though she were about to lose her mind from fear, but she just had to get away. She had to get far enough away that he couldn’t get her…
The soft chuckle made her lips quiver and she tried to walk a little faster, though when suddenly he moved again, this time to right on top of her she couldn’t take it anymore. “Stop it! E-Elvira Garland!”
Her hand was raised upwards and she hoped against hope that the attack would hit..and then she hoped that he would just leave her alone. When you felt happy...it was hard to be evil. That was all she could think to tell herself, but at least...maybe he would drop down. Try to talk. She could use her other magic then...that would be a lot safer at least.
She hoped.

Tangerine eyes narrowed as little Elvira cast her magic. Haumea remembered it fairly well. He’d just felt so happy as he’d tried to catch her to cart home to Metallia. And while he was in no way averse to feeling happy, he preferred to keep his wits about him for this little slice of playtime.
With the faintest whisper of movement, the tall corrupt kept to the shadows, but leapt across the rooftops, wanting to give the impression of a retreat.
Even if he had no intentions of retreating. But Elvira needn’t know that.

Elvira didn’t realize that she had been holding her breath until she felt the corrupt moving away and she let it out with a loud wooshing sound, her knees trembling so badly she had to sit down on the ground and let them rest for a few minutes.
Well...so he was afraid of her magic...that was a good thing! She had beaten him and come out of everything pretty much okay...that was good. That was…
That was really good.
Slowly the senshi pushed herself back to her feet and began walking towards home again, sure that the danger had passed for now...he was gone and she was safe. For now at least..but...sometimes it was the now that mattered more than the the later. At least when it came to dangers like this.

Poor, stupid little thing, Haumea thought as he trailed behind the senshi for a little longer. Clearly, she thought she was safe and had dropped her guard. Well, he’d leave her with a reminder that she would never be safe. At least, not until she was basking in Metallia’s warmth.
Teleporting one last time to let his aura grate against her senses, he summoned the lesser of his magical attacks, hoping that the scent would frighten the girl. Then, he sped away through the darkness, content to leave the girl to her own devices.
For now.
