Another night, another opportunity to be reckless and possibly have a good time while practicing skills and city navigating...

Tonight, he'd decided to veer in the direction of the downtown area, with lots of tall buildings and lots of people. He was certain he was sensing various kinds of aura around, although for the most part decided it would be best to not approach them...too strong, or too distant.

After a while, he paused at a somewhat fancy looking building--the courthouse, apparently. He looked up at it...from the top floor of its parking garage. A mental image of him posing like batman on the courthouse popped into his head and made him snicker, then he shifted his gaze downward, considering where to go from here...

It happened that Nix was looking up at the sky when the blip of a new aura surprised him. Another order! He thought about letting them go, but then thought better of it--maybe there was a reason they powered up down there that he hadn't noticed yet.

And maybe not. If not, well, someone new to meet! Always a plus.

So it was that Nix quickly made his way down the building, and into sight of the Page below. "Oh hey!" he said as he recognized that hat. "I remember you!" he declared cheerfully, dropping all the way to the ground. "How's it going? Gotten any better at fighting stuff?"

He was, of course, thinking about the time weeks ago that Susquehanna helped him with some youma...it definitely saved Nix's bacon, but the fight itself was...not very impressive. He decided right then that clearly, the knight needed some of the training that Nix was a bit obsessed with these days.

"'No' is an okay answer!" Nix responded cheerfully, stepping closer. "I dunno about you, but I find all this," he gestured vaguely, "Superhero stuff super cool, but also a bit scary sometimes..."

He put his fists on his hips, legs placed slightly apart. "And the best way to make something not scary is to face it! So! You should join me! I was gonna practice jumping from building to building without hitting anything tonight, but now I have a better idea!" He paused for effect, grinning. "You should fight me!" He declared, then laughed lightly. "I mean, not really, but if we practice together, we'd both get better, right? Then those youma wouldn't be a problem!"

He looked up into the night a moment. "And I think I know just the place! C'mon!" He waved in a 'follow me' sort of way...but at least waited long enough for confirmation that Susquehanna would follow him before he hopped off into the night.

Nix’s smile faltered just a moment. “Welll…I wouldn’t call it warm,” he hedged, but then made a ‘follow me’ gesture again, said, “C’mon!” and took off at a run.



He did not go far before hopping up an office building, where he paused long enough to make sure Susquehanna was still with him. With that out of the way, he continued on for a while, until they were on top of a fairly wide, squat building. The lights were mostly not on below. “Nobody’s around here usually,” he explained when the knight caught up. “So it’s a good place to do stuff like sparring!”

Nix raised his fists, grinning, and planted his feet apart. “Show me whatcha got!” he declared cheerfully. “Don’t worry, I can take it,” he added, apparently realizing exactly what the faces Susquehanna had been making meant.

When the knight agreed, Nix grinned happily…he was briefly afraid that he’d have to wheedle some more to get anywhere on this. But, nope! He pulled out his paddle (what an odd weapon, Nix thought momentarily, not for the first time), and then…threw it!

He probably should have expected that, but didn’t, so the Senshi had to duck quickly. As the paddle whizzed past him, he realized just what Hanna was doing—going to take him out with a leg sweep! He started to hop out of the way, but moved too late, and his feet got knocked by the low kick, making his fancy jump turn into an awkward tumble to the side.

Nix hit the ground, but was almost instantly rolling back to his feet. “Hah! Good one!” he said cheerily. Maybe it’s not that he needs to learn to fight after all, he thought, but decided to not say that just yet.

While bouncing back to his feet, he glanced around quickly, then shot out his frog tongue…not at the knight, but rather nearby. It thumped against the paddle, and yanked the wood thing back to Nix, who held it in hand as he got up completely.

Naturally, he didn’t know much about how knights and their weapons worked.

There was only a moment to be surprised about the paddle disappearing out of his hand—he looked at his hand, squeezing it shut briefly to confirm it was empty, and murmured, “Wha?” before Hanna was at it again!

After last time, Nix thought he had an idea of how the knight liked to fight. Backpedaled a few steps as the paddle was raised again, and his eyes shifted downward. Was that a tensing of the other hand he saw?

Only one way to find out! As Hanna came in close, Nix used his tongue again, aiming it once more at the paddle, this time letting it get knocked away, while both his hands came together and…

WHAP. He actually caught the punch aimed for his gut! He still let out a strained, “Oof!” and was knocked back several feet, but there was no gut punch! And he held on tight to the fist, which he tried to pull to the side and past him as he brought a knee up.

He had no intention of slamming in as hard as he could, but he wanted to make contact, at least!

Nix blurted out a surprised, "woah!" as he was knocked back, staggering. A bump behind him further caused him to topple backward, and he landed on the roof with a thump. As he hopped back up, he witnessed Susquehanna leap into the air, prompting the senshi's eyes to get wide and then dip to the side, raising his arms to take the full hit.

And take it they did, causing him to skid backward some, but he laughed again, and didn't make a move to attack or counter. "That was cool," he said, grinning in spite of his arms still up in a defensive position. "I'unno if that would really work that well, but...sure looked neat!"

Nix wondered idly if it was a trait of these Knights that they worried a lot...or it was just a coincidence that the ones he had did.

Or maybe he acted in a way to lead older people to worry about him?

...Nahh.

He considered Susquehanna's question a moment, then said, "Well, no, not specifically," he rubbed his cheek thoughtfully. "Though, I wouldn't mind actually training with ya for a while. You know, to be more confident about it!" He nodded, leaving it unsaid that he thought the knight had none of that 'confidence' stuff. "Don't have to, though." He shrugged. "You did say you just wanted to go home, I suppose..."
