Heavy snow had plagued Destiny City for a few days and it seemed to take ages for the clouds to clear. When they finally thinned, there was something more surprising than just the night sky: a glorious display of colorful light danced over Destiny City. A myriad of colors paint the sky, twisting colorfully. Auroras are uncommon in this area, but it’s something unique to see. Of course, ‘unique’ in Destiny City isn’t always a good thing…

A dream. This had to have been a dream of sorts. That was the only explanation for what he was seeing as he gazed into the dark blue black of the night sky. Or rather, what should have been a deep dark blue black of the night sky. Because, as it were, the sky was not so dark, not so deep, and hardly blue and black at that current moment in time. No, it was in fact a myriad of colors, mostly pinks, green, and off violet and faint yellows. The northern light except that were could not be. The phenomenon known as the northern lights couldn’t happen so far south, not unless the entire earth had rotated differently and the entire climate was going to change within 24 hours and possibly result in mass extinctions.

He vaguely wondered if that were to happen, would humans survive? (probably not given their reliance on a predictable weather cycle and plants to be grown in certain regions to sustain the needs of those around the world- not to mention travel, commerce, diplomacy and water levels and- okay he was thinking too deep about this time to back track to the matter at hand. What the hell he was currently looking at when he should be viewing the night sky in all it’s light drowned glory of the city.)

Looking at the stars, (or rather, the lack of stars and actually man-made satellites and other space objects that emit enough self light they could be observed through all the light pollution of a city), Dorian tried to lift his phone and take a photo. What he got was a grainy washed out badly flash drenched photo that managed to capture a whole lot of nothing. Which kind of sucked given if this was actual northern lights, aka aurora borealis, he wanted to take a photo to best remember it. Alas, cell phone cameras were not very adept at taking low light photos and the result was quite bad and had him regretting not having a better camera readily on hand. But he did a quick search on the local feeds and yeah, he was not the only person able to see this crazy light show and no one else knew why or how this was going on. Some thought it was the result of some kind of toxic gas. Some thought maybe it was magic, (a possibility, but, he’d not been summoned and he didn’t know of any plans on the negaverse side so he didn’t think he had cause to worry of some magical sky light effect thing going on).

No one knew what this was, simple as that. Perhaps, had he’d been not involved ina space war with a bunch of crazy human infecting aliens that could change people into magical warriors he’d be thinking the lights were romantic or pretty. Alas, all he got was the feeling that something was up and when something was up?
He usually ended up with work to do.
