For no apparent reason, Destiny City is plagued with another strange phenomenon, only this one can strike at any time. The icicles plummet from the sky with no warning, regardless of a clear or cloudy sky. The spikes range in size from a few inches up to two feet. Sometimes only one might fall, or sometimes a torrent of them, but they never fall far longer than a minute at a time. So far, injuries and damage have been reported across the city. How are you faring?
The problem was, there was really only so much dodging a girl could do -- she was absolutely terrified by the prospect of actually getting hit by one of those things at some point or another.
It seemed like far too likely a possibility, and that was really, really not how she wanted her story to end. It would be....really dumb to get impaled by an icicle before she could, like. Graduate high school, or actually get to corrupt, or any of the other fun, cool stuff that was laid out in front of her. So she was careful and tense, even the slightest hint of more falling icicles sending her running for cover rather than risking getting caught in it.
Another burst came down, and Xenia ducked under an overhanging storefront, eyes wide as saucers and something like panic in her heart. She was like a small, frightened animal, very tense and very easy to startle.

Alphubel had gone out again tonight on patrol, but this time he was less worried about Negaverse agents, and more worried about the random icicles that had been falling around everywhere. Which is why he had powered up. Not only was he warmer, but he also had the right stuff on to actually be of some use in this type of weather, and he could react a bit more quickly than usual than if he had just gone as a civilian. Though, if he had, he probably wouldn't even be on patrol anyway. However, as he was wandering around, looking up every so often to check to see that a random killer icicle wasn't heading straight towards him, he felt the aura of a senshi nearby, and it seemed to be a basic one too! He headed in their direction, wanting to see if they were having any trouble in all of this weird, random weather. He spotted her and wasn't too sure if she was in trouble or not, but decided to approach her anyway. Once he got within arms reach of her, though he was surprised she hadn't turned around yet, he asked, "Hey, are you okay?" In retrospect he realized it probably wasn't a good idea to try and get her attention when he was so close to her and she hadn't acknowledged him yet.

Were Xenia more put together and less on edge, she might have welcomed the arrival of another Order aura. She might even have noticed that there was another person approaching. The thing was, she was absolutely not -- her focus was instead on the sky, and on the very clear and present danger of being hailed on with murder icicles. That was not, in any way, shape, or form, something she was okay with.
It also meant that she was sort of generally on edge about the prospect of being murdered, though, so another voice, even one asking a simple, seemingly reassuring question, had her yelping in startled fear and whirling aorund to throw an instinctive punch. It had a pretty decent amount fo force behind it, and was aimed about at the stomach area, because Xenia was small and had learned to aim low on bigger opponents.
Which was almost everyone, when you were fourteen and maybe five foot one, five foot two in heels.
Were she more put together, Xeni would have been terribly embarraseed to be throwing a punch before she did literally anything else, but that was the problem. She wasn't more put together. she was scared shitless, and the poor person who had come to check on her was caught in the crossfire of her fear.

Alphubel could see the girl suddenly turn, and before he could react, she had sent out her fist, and punched him in the stomach. It hurt! The wind was practically punched out of him! He almost cursed, but instead went for a "Ah!" When he was hit. Man, if there was one thing this senshi had, it was quite the punch! He took a few moments, trying to get air back into his lungs. Well, that's what I get for not trying to get her attention farther away. He thought, taking deep, gasping breaths of air, before finally his lungs decided that they would start working again. It took a bit, but he was finally able to stand up fully again. He coughed, and looked at the senshi. "Sorry I scared you." He would have said 'guessed' but there was no guessing about it. She hadn't punched him just because, and any noise or movement could have meant the difference between life or death at this point. He sighed, moving a hand through his hair, and took a quick look at the sky before looking at the senshi again. "You uh, need any help? It's so dangerous out here." He was wondering why she had been out by herself like this, but perhaps she had been thinking like he had, thinking he could save others if he was patrolling. Xenia stumbled back when she realized who exactly she had hit, and her eyes went wide and her hands came up to her mouth.
"Oh no, I am so sorry," she said, extending her hands and flapping them at him a little desperately. "Are you okay??" Obivously not, because she was an idiot who hit first and asked questions later, and oh god she really hoped she hadn't done more than knocked the wind out of the poor, innocent dude who jsut wanted to make sure she was okay.
"I was freaking out about the icicles, I'm sure you've seen them, and I didn't know who'd come up behind me and I am so sorry." She swallowed guiltily. "I, um, I'm actually okay, I've got shield magic if I get really unlucky, but. Oh god. Maybe we should stick together. It's probably safer to be in groups out here."SSBrosB you can probably fade out on your next post, if you'd like!!

Alphubel took a few more deep breaths, but smiled at her. At least she was worried, though he wasn't angry at her. He probably would have reacted the same way. "I'm... all right. Just takes a while to get air back into your lungs after being hit like that. You have quite the punch!" He was trying to make her feel a bit better. "It's no problem. I should have gotten your attention much sooner rather than waiting till I was right next to you and giving you a scare." He stood up fully, and sighed, finally glad that the pain was pretty much gone. "You know, that doesn't sound like a bad idea! We can go patrolling together! And hopefully these murderous icicle's will stop dropping on everything soon..."He at least hoped so, but all they could do was check the area out to see if any civilians were in danger. Other than that, they would, unfortunately, have to wait it out... Noir Songbird And that's it! Thanks so much for the quick rp!
