◈ WHERE: A park with a couple of kiddie rides but mostly grass and trees.
◈ WHEN: Midday
◈ WEATHER: Sunny and lovely. On the verge of being too warm, but not there yet.
The frei watched unblinkingly as a couple of human children swung back and forth and back again, using all of the power behind their runty legs to coax themselves higher and higher, laughing all the while. It seemed like a strangely simplistic way to have a good time when Astor's Crash existed, but not everyone had access to an amusement park whenever they wanted one.
It was a fact Pohl had only just recently learned, and it had evoked a special kind of pity in him, one he had never felt for another living creature in all of his short life.

The amused voice of his guardian drew Pohl out of his thoughts, and as he turned sharply toward it, he recalled what they were actually here for. A picnic. Fresh bugs. Mm.
"Right. Yes. Here!" He zipped over to Fish's side in no time at all, the man's distaste for all things sweaty, grassy, and silent apparent in the way he inched slowly forward, leaving him easy enough to catch.
"Just let me know when you want to stop, all right?"
