The New Year is nearly upon you; all around town, people are buzzing with excitement. Sales are aplenty and among some of the better deals is a popular new brand of champagne. The drink’s been getting a lot of attention and very good reviews; it boasts a guarantee for a magical evening. It’s a promise that holds true—sort of. Anyone who imbibes the champagne will be extremely in tune to their more romantic feelings. They may feel more open, more daring, or more flirtatious towards the object of their affections. Or, maybe a glass of it is enough to make them realize they have feelings for someone…Either way, after ingesting the champagne, romance is all you can think about. The effects last for only a few hours, so you’d better use that time well. The bottles are out of stock quickly, so you are lucky to have gotten your hands on one. Lucky, unless you made a fool of yourself in your romantic haze…
It was finally the New Year, and to celebrate, Tom had gone to the store to get some wine for him, and some sparkling wine for Jason. Not that Tom was going to drink all of it, but he thought having a glass wouldn't be too bad, after all he didn't really have any plans to go out anywhere and his girlfriend had said she was too tired after all that aurora stuff to do anything for right now, so Tom decided that he and his little brother would celebrate. However, Tom wasn't much of a alcohol drinker, and easily found the non-alcoholic sparkling wine, but when he went to look at the regular wine, he hadn't been sure what to get. However, he had been told to get a new champagne since it had gotten good reviews, and since he didn't know much about wine, decided to get it.
Back at his apartment, Jason realized that he had forgotten to get something at the store, and was going to go to it when Tom had offered him a small sip of wine, just to get a taste of it. Neither one really cared for alcohol, but Jason had really never had it before, other than trying it once at one of their parents' parties under strict supervision. Jason had shrugged, and said why not, and Tom poured him a tiny amount, only enough to get a taste but not really get a mouthful. Jason drank it slowly, and shrugged his shoulders saying it just tasted like wine. Tom laughed, but agreed with his little brother, and sent Jason on his way.
On the way tot he store, something strange started happening to Jason. It was like his feelings, or more likely, his hormones, were on high alert tonight and were going overboard. He was suddenly thinking about Cynthia, wanting to run over to her house, but tried to control himself, as he knew she wouldn't like that at all. It was then however that he passed a local chocolate shop, and decided that she would like chocolate, and that he should get some for her, so that he could give them to her when they met up next time.
He had only met up with the girl a couple of times, one of them being the first time they had met and they were both powered then, and he hadn't quite been sure about whether or not he could really go about dating her. But now? Now his feelings were sure that he should go and ask her out! He liked her! Whether it was love he didn't know! Because he was only seventeen and still a teenager! But he was feeling some pretty strong emotions towards her right now!
He loaded up on the chocolate and paid for it all, gathering it in a bag, and hoping Cynthia would accept his offering and agree to go out with him.
