Quote: The holidays are close to ending and it’s time to start packing away your decorations. In a stroke of bad luck, you drop an ornament (or other small bauble) and it shatters. Inside was a strange, glistening dust that you accidentally inhale. You are immediately met with a strong hallucination of a previous holiday memory. It only lasts for a few moments, but it feels like you are back in the memory, reliving it. It seems so real but when it ends, you are back in the present with no trace of the dust left in sight. Which holiday memory did you relive, and how do you react to being torn from it? (You can only relive a memory from a holiday in December and it must be from this lifetime. Characters who have lost civilian memories, such as in a side swap, will have a much vaguer memory. Locations and faces will be blurred and unrecognizable, and the memory will not reveal anything about their previous life. These characters may be left feeling a little hollow after the memory.)

It was hard to believe that the end of the christmas holidays was approaching, because it felt like it had only just been the other day when the lights and christmas-themed shop displays had first started going up - but between then and now the days had somehow seemed to speed by until the new year was somehow just around the corner - and with it the first month of 2018–
Which was how Liryn had found himself at Cat HQ and unlike the day when the power had gone out across the city it seemed that HQ was quiet as he made his way towards the hallway filled with doors, many of which were unmarked.
Amongst them however was one with the name 'Liryn' on it and it was this door that was his destination–
Because at some point Liryn had decided to put up some christmas decorations in his room and with the end of the holiday season approaching it was now time for the decorations to come down.
Actually technically according to Athene, he actually had until the sixth day of the new year - twelfth night - but with Christmas itself over Liryn figured that there was no time like the present.
He didn't have a whole ton of decorations in his room, but he had managed to put together bits and pieces - like tinsel and the baubles and some lights which he had plugged into the power outlet–
And he had even managed to find a small fake christmas tree with battery powered lights that sat in pride of place near to his bean bag.
He had looked over his handiwork for a few moments because he thought that he had done a pretty good job with making everything look christmassy and then Liryn had gotten down to work.
He had started with the low hanging baubles and the tinsel first, tugging at the end of the tinsel until it came down and then tugging it along gently so that it could bring the rest down and then - after tugging it along to and putting it into a cardboard box - he had moved onto the higher decorations–
And it had all gone to plan until Liryn had accidentally tripped over the lights and gone stumbling backwards into a set of ornaments that he had placed to the side reading for putting away and sent them flying.
One of the small ornaments that he had rescued from being thrown out had gone flying towards one of the walls, but Liryn hadn't been able to stop it from tumbling to the ground and shattering, although he'd tried to because he had really liked the pretty blue and green patterned ornament - and he hadn't realised that there was glittering dust inside which meant that he hadn't been able to stop himself from inhaling it.
The room and the ornaments had seemed to spin around him, around and round and round and around until he was no longer in the room in HQ–
Instead he was in a park and for all that that it had been years since he had been in this particular park he remembered the park - because it was one that he had tended to frequent a lot back in the days when he had been just a simple stray.
And it was like watching a movie as he saw the stray he was poking his head out from underneath the slide in the children's playground and trotting out into the December snow–
And there was a voice calling out to him, a young voice, cheerful voice and a young girl with a bright smile and reindeer printed mittens on her hands that waved enthusiastically at the younger him approaching her.
It had been close to Christmas and under the slide had made for a nice hidey-place, which was how the Liryn of then had met the girl, but on this particular day she had smuggled out bacon for him - had called it a christmas present for him and had wished him a merry x-mas before running off when her parents had called for her.
And then suddenly everything was spinning again and he was back in his room in HQ, purplish eyes staring down at the now dust-less floor with only the shards of the ornament there to tell that it had ever been there - but he could still taste the warm bacon that he had given a few firm bats before eating and see the bright smile of the girl as she gave him his 'christmas present'–
And it was a while before Liryn finally moved to start cleaning up the blue and green shattered shards of ornament, thoughts of that day lingering as he did so.
