Harmotome strolled down the halls of the offices located in Negaspace, her feet carrying her to a familiar one. She was somewhat bored (she met her quota a while ago), somewhat feeling talkative (she couldn't find Pyrophanite), and somewhat wanting to pick a more experience officer's brain about stuff (but not really admit she needed guidance from someone more experienced). She checked in with the General who had brought her into the fold often enough. She really did like him. He was helpful without being overbearing, didn't belittle her, didn't hover, and most importantly, he had the skill to garner her respect.

The lieutenant stopped in the open doorway of Aurostibite's office, and just to further announce her arrival, rapped her knuckles on the frame of the doorway.

His office was as plain as ever, though perhaps with a few more pictures on his desk. Papers were stacked in neat piles in carefully organized places across the glossy surface, and in the corner of the room, nestled into a bundle of blankets clearly meant for her, Behellagh slept, her head tucked under her wing, rustling every now and then with her slow, deep breaths.

Aurostibite had been working on a report of recent events when he heard the knock, reading glasses perched on the end of his nose.

"Come in," he said absently, without looking up.

"Yo, General!" Was the lieutenant's greeting as she strolled into the room at the absent acknowledgement. Dark red eyes scanned the plain office like usual, hoping to spot his personal youma, with whom she was fascinated by. She couldn't help but grin in delight at seeing Behellagh curled up in her nest. Her gaze continued to rest on the creature, even as she grabbed a nearby chair and dragged it closer to Aurostibite's desk. She flipped it around so that the back was facing the man, and then straddled it. Her arms immediately went to rest on the back of it, and she finally tore her gaze away from the youma to look at the General instead.

"Is being a general alvays villed vith so much papervork?" She asked him, instead of the polite thing, like, are you busy or is this a bad time. No.

It took Aurostibite a moment to drag himself out of his paperwork and realize who it was that had just casually meandered through his door. Harmotome was one of his recruits, yes, but unlike many of the generals in the Negaverse, Aurostibite saw little point in micromanaging them. He checked up on them, watched over them, and made sure they were doing what they were supposed to, but it wasn't about to hover over them and watch their every move. They were, after all, quite capable of doing things on their own. That was the whole point.

"Good afternoon, Lieutenant," said Aurostibite, a little dryly. Behellagh lifted her head briefly to eye the newcomer, then immediately went back to sleeping. Aurostibite leaned back in his chair, sliding his glasses from his nose and setting them on the desk.

"It can be," he said, faintly amused. "It's important to keep records of things, after all. Can I help you with something?"

Harmotome looked at one paper stack on one end of the desk, and then slowly did a panorama with her eyes to the other end. That was a lot of neatly stacked paper work. Too much paper work.

Her gaze settled back on Aurostibite, and she was frowning.

"I think I vill make it to captain and then stay there."

Of course she was joking, but the thought also seriously had some merit. "Is that not vhat lower ranking officers are for?" She asked him, her frown deepening, and she paused, before hastily adding. "I am awful at paperwork." Just in case he suddenly took question and put her to work. "My handwriting is awful." Thinking she had just excused herself from a very crappy fate, Harmotome moved onto the question he had asked her.

"Ya!" She replied, perking up in her seat. "I have questions!"

That clearly needed answers.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Captains still need to do work as well, you know," he said, only mildly reproachful. Harmotome was a good fighter and knew how to work; not having an inclination for paperwork wasn't really an indicator of anything except...well, not having an inclination for paperwork.

"But yes, I could make some of the lieutenants do things," Aurostibite agreed. "Perhaps I will delegate a bit more later on."

His eyebrow remained raised. Aurostibite gestured at her.

"Feel free to ask whatever you'd like, then."

Harmotome puffed out her cheeks in annoyance at the thought. At captain she had to start doing paperwork already!? Damn it.

She huffed, but the annoyance as pushed aside in favor of asking the General stuff. She readjusted herself in her chair, and moved her arms off the back to instead rest her hands on the back. Her expression was alight with eagerness. "Half-Youmas." Harmotome started. "The ones that are agents---do you know much about them?"

It was an attempt to not be entertained by Harmotome. Rare was the agent who could succeed in amusing Aurostibite, considering how stoic and reserved he was the majority of the time, but there was something about Harmotome that was easy to like, perhaps because of her confidence.

Either way, the smile didn't show on his face, but it was there, at least, in his mind. Aurostibite leaned back in his chair, frowning slightly.

"Specifically the ones that are still agents?" he said, not really a question, more a repeat of what she'd already said. "Not much, I'm afraid. I've done a little bit of research into them, though. From what I've seen, they are agents who have merged with a youma, whether of their own volition or because they were careless; I was under the impression that it can happen if a fight goes badly and a youma tries to attack without being strong enough to kill, but I could be mistaken."

His brows drew together.

"Why do you ask?"

Harmotome listened with interest, nodding her head as he spoke. "Ahhh." She hummed, mulling this information over. Even if it wasn't a lot, it was still something. It also happened to coincide with the scant information Pyrophanite had given her when she asked. He had done it to protect his best friend, he had said...

"Oh---Just curious!" She told him in earnest. Granted, there was a deeper reason for asking. The incident in which Pyro seemingly lost control of his body with the creature really prompted some questioning. Harmotome may have been eager to find things out, but she wasn't stupid. She wouldn't report what had happened. That kind of stuff went up the lines, and if it was known the Captain was having any incidents like that, it wouldn't bode well. "I have met one! He is captain and I had not met one before...but he did not talk about it much. There are not a lot either so~" She drawled. "They are very interesting." Her eyes drifted back to Aurostibite's personal youma again, and speaking of...

The lieutenant pointed at Behellagh. "How did you get her? Can you summon her vhen you are not powered? Does she listen?" It was rather obvious by Harmotome's fascination with her, that she really wanted her own, and was really looking forward to the day when she could get one. Getting to captain just couldn't come soon enough!

Aurostibite tried to remember if he had seen anyone that was a half youma as of late. When no one came to mind, he said, "Well, some in the Negaverse mistrust the half-youma. I believe they think their loyalties are skewed, or see them somehow as lesser creatures, rather than human beings. I don't care so long as they do their job properly."

If it meant working with a half youma, it meant working with a half youma. it was what it was, after all, and Aurostibite was entirely truthful in his lack of caring. He let his gaze move towards Behellagh, then back to Harmotome, still faintly amused by her obvious interest.

"I can't summon her as a civilian, no," said Aurostibite. "As for how I got her, I went into the Rift and made a pact with her. She does my bidding when I need her to, and she is entirely loyal to me. We can communicate; she has limited speech skills, but we know enough to get past."

He raised a brow. "Planning on getting your own personal youma then?"

Harmotome frowned deeply at that. "Vhy vould their loyalties be skewed?" Lesser creatures? She didn't understand people sometimes. Actually, weren't people more impressive who took on a youma and merged with it? More powerful? Shouldn't that mean more respect? When Pyrophanite was in control of himself, those skills he had were deadly, on top of being able to yank star seeds and teleport? She was surprised there weren't more half-youma agents.

"Ah. How did you know?" The lieutenant asked him. "That she vas the one for you---" Harmotome paused, eyes going wide. "She can talk!?" Her head immediately whipped back around to stare at the youma, as if she would suddenly speak a word now that the subject was brought up. "Ya---I am!"
