Fallen Star is a scythe with a black snath and a silver blade. The handle of the weapon contains a rocket launcher. When needed, the handle expands to form the barrel and a second grip needed to stabilize it flips out and locks into place. While not a feature Tala wanted, the blacksmith she apprenticed under ensured that when finished the weapon would also be capable of incorporating dust.
Silent Night is a spiked Bowie knife that is onyx in color. The knife when needed can transform into a dart gun carrying four darts within its handle. She normally carries tranquilizer darts in it, but they can be switched out for those made of dust. It is held in a cross draw sheath on the back of Tala's belt for ease of access.

Strengths:
✔Loyal: While extremely difficult to earn, Tala is an unyielding and protective beast of those she’s come to care for.
✔Immense Endurance: Life was always hard on her, and she adapted. It shows both physically and in her mental fortitude.
✔Hard-working: An outcast from birth, Tala, knows that good things don’t come free. One must be willing to put in the effort or it’s worth nothing in the end.
✔Inquisitive: Since childhood, she has always needed to know how things work as knowing that they do never satisfied her. It aids her both in the classroom and in the field.
✔Persistent: Once Tala’s mind is set on something, it is near impossible to dissuade her from it. It helps her to achieve her goals to the high standard she has set for herself.
✔Survival Skills: Tala grew up in a dangerous mountainous region covered by forest. Through guidance, experience, and exploration, she learned how to keep herself alive and protect herself from the native inhabitants. Now she’s using and adapting her skills to survive Beacon.
✔Combat: Danger from both grim and people was a normal part of Tala’s life growing up. Only the strong survive. She hits hard and quick, but she is capable of standing her ground taking the hits when it’s called for.
✔Weapon Versatility: Never knowing when or where she was going to need to fight, Tala learned to get creative using what was available. It also helped that Gerran forced her to learn the basics of different types of weapons before she was allowed to build her scythe.
Weaknesses:
✘Self-Reliant: Though it has kept her alive all these years, now, it works against her. It makes working with a team tough, and it keeps her from asking for help.
✘Trust Issues: Past experiences have shown her that people are more likely than not to hurt her, so she keeps everyone at a distance. It makes it difficult for her to form close relationships as she’s always second-guessing people’s motives.
✘Stubborn: She doesn’t do well with following another’s orders if she doesn’t agree with them. It makes teamwork trying at times.
✘Demeanor: The rough, cold exterior she’s built up over the years turns people off making her appear more intimidating than she actually is.
✘Unpredictable: Keeping her mood and motives close to the vest, she reacts to situations as she sees fit. Her actions to outside views don’t always make sense, and they can get her in trouble.
✘Undiscovered Semblance: When pitted against opponents with semblances, she must rely solely on her combat proficiency to see her through. She’s had no formal combat training until she arrived at Beacon, and at times it hinders her. Almost no one knows she has no idea what her semblance is, so she avoids the question when people ask playing it off as though it were a secret.
✘Coffee: She’s not allowed to have it, period.
✘Claustrophobic: Let’s just say bad memories have a way of popping up every now and then.

Personality:
Tala is a strong-willed, independent person that doesn’t shy away from obstacles. Even when it seems like all is lost, she continues to fight sometimes to her own determent. However, she doesn’t enter into a fight lightly, but will quickly step in to defend someone else who is unable to protect them self. She deals better with animals and the outdoors than she does with people. In a social setting, she tends to be silently observing and doesn’t participate in what going on unless she’s forced. She is very guarded both with her words and her feelings. A master of the poker face, one never truly knows what she’s thinking or what motivates her.
The only time her façade breaks is when she’s caught up in a good book, overly tired, in an emotionally charged situation that hits too close to home, or when she’s with people she completely trusts. When this does happen, she can turn into a polar opposite of her usual cold and distant self although it’s rare.
History:
Life has never been good or easy for Tala. Born out of wedlock in a small, traditional mountain village surrounded by forest, she was seen as the black sheep. In her younger years, the weight of the disgrace her existence brought didn’t hinder her. Her mother’s limitless love and undying devotion overshadowed the darkness. She was a happy, soft-hearted, willful, and naïve child.
At five years old, her world was shattered like glass. Her grandfather, who was the village leader and despised her, took her out hiking while her mother was away. Taken deep into an unfamiliar part of the forest, they made camp in the deep recesses of a cave. However, when Tala awoke the next morning she found herself alone in the dark. Unable to see and not knowing what was going on, Tala tried to find her way out. In her attempt, she fell into a hole in the floor that connected to an underground river. Wedged in the passage, she was unable to escape or fall to her death. By the time her mother found her, she was a broken, exhausted shadow of a human being. Although, the few physical injuries healed over time, her perception was forever altered.
As the years continued to inch by, relations between Tala and her people only got worse. Ridiculed and tormented regularly, she withdrew more into herself. Her only solace was found in the books her mother would buy her, the forest, and eventually in combat. The trials she faced, however, rather than destroying her tempered her like steel into a sharp edge. She learned where and when to assert herself, and became vigilant always looking for ways to improve her reality. While her mother was her sun, the kindhearted village blacksmith became her moon. Having lost his family in an accident, he moved to the village from the city of Atlas. Unlike the others, he saw not her flaws but her potential. He was the one who taught her to forge weapons and aided in the creation of her rocket launcher scythe. While not very familiar with fighting with a scythe, he taught her what he could, and the rest she learned through trial and error garnering her a few scars. Learning to fight with a weapon breathed new life into her. It gave her a better sense of self. The blacksmith became like the father she’d never had that her mother rarely spoke of. She only knew a few details here and there about her biological father ever wondering who he was and what he was like. At one point, her mother tried to contact him, and received a letter from an associate in response informing her that he had died.
Eventually, events transpired that forced her to make the decision to leave the village. Never knowing her father, she sought the one place she might gain a better understanding of him and hone her skills in battle.
