Quote: Caroling has been a tradition for years, so it’s really no surprise when you hear a soft chorus from outside. What is a surprise is the fact that it’s three in the morning, and the moment they start singing you feel a chill in the air. It’s a song you’ve heard a hundred times before, but something about this version makes you go cold. If you move to the window, you will find no carolers, but the song is loud enough that you know you should be able to see them. They sing one song, and then there is silence. An eerie chill lingers, and your dreams are haunted by strange voices. You’ll probably never be able to hear that song again without feeling a chill.

Dreamland - a place where she often visited. Dreaming of treats, sweets, and sugar. Or tonight more so her family visiting. It made a smile grow on her face. Since it had been forever since everyone had been together. Hugging, smiling, and laughing. Something she often missed living so far away from all her relatives and even grand parents. Every time she saw them they always brought her the most unique items. Like paper folded lanterns that turned into rabbits. Or a hand carved necklace. She tossed and turned in her sleep as she danced in her dreams.
All of the sudden her dream turned dark. She could hear a melody begin "silent night....holy night...". The sky began to whirl and crows buzzed everywhere. the song was different not like normal caroling song, but a horror sounding one. Almost like the tune of jaws - ba dum. except everyone who once was there was gone and hidden in the darkness.
It continued..."all is calm ... all is bright..." she finally could take no more and woke up in a sweat. Her body straight upward and sweat pouring down her face. She thought it was over but she heard it again... "silent night..." the dark song was coming from right outside her window.
her body began to grow cold and her hair stood up on the back of her neck. This was no normal caroling. She slowly got up. Taking her blue sugar blankets off her legs and placing it on the bed. She slipped on her fuzzy slippers and walked slowly over to the window. She got the window and slowly lifted the white blind. "what...where is everyone..." she whispered as she felt her skin get even colder.
Not only was the music creepy, but it also was sang by no one. Which made zero sense. She could hear the song in her dream world. She should have been able to hear something or see someone.
She shut the window and creeped back to her bed. She slipped off her fuzzy slippers and then hopped into her bed. She pulled the covers over her mouth and waited until the song was done. Or at least she thought. Since she couldn't get the haunting tune out of her head. She was stuck listening to the horrible Silent Night and never again did she want to hear that dark song again...
but yet no matter what she did she couldn't escape it. She tried to fall back asleep, but no matter what she did she couldn't shake the shiver. She sat up in her bed once again. Why wouldn't it leave her alone. She loved Christmas - why must it haunt her. Just as she thought that she looked over and saw a beautiful colorful music box. One she had gotten from her grandmother when she was infant. It always seemed to chase away the demons or ghost when she was younger. Maybe just maybe it could do it now. So she grabbed the music box from her grandmother and opened it up. "Dancing bears .. painted wings" it began to sing. She began to sing - "Things I almost remember..." as she sang a smile appeared on her face and she sunk into her sheets. The shivers disappearing for now, and sleep once again becoming hers as the music box continued to sing.
