Pяofile Śkelêton
This is our default Pяofile Śkeleton. There are a few things we want you to be aware of before you get started. We will cover some basic things you should know, as well as lay out the foundation and guidelines for how character approval will work as shown in the judging guidelines section. Please read all of this before making your profile to insure the process works smoothly. The most important thing to note is that every profile will have issues that we will want to have changed. Please do not take this as a personal attack. We are so happy you are joining us and we just want to make sure every profile is properly balanced to fit the character currently in the world, and that your profile is fleshed out in a clear and accessible manner.
1 ▬ You can actually start role playing without your profile being approved, but you are not allowed to engage in combat until your profile has been approved. We try to approve profiles within one week's time.
2 ▬ You must create a profile and have it approved before you have 100 posts in the guild. The purpose of a profile skeleton is to help you more fully develop your RPC. Please add some kind of biography that is at least a paragraph or two, but remember we encourage you to alter your profile's biography even after it has been approved to keep track of your RPC development. Character development is important for any good story! We will quote your approved profile to know what we have and have not approved, but this does not mean you can't keep adding to the biography or other details that may not need approval for! If its a weapon, power or ability update or change it needs to be approved before it is used!
3 ▬ You probably won't have a team to start, so feel free to leave that section blank even if it has an asterisk. In general, you'll want to at least fill out the items with an asterisk to be approved though. We provide a list of banned abilities and weapons/items for you to read. This is to give you an idea of what is generally allowed and not allowed. This list isn't comprehensive as we add to it all the time. We also will allow some of the things on here with proper controls.
4 ▬ There are technically 4 levels. We have Level 0, 1, 2, and 3. Level 0 is from 0-99 posts, Level 1 is from 100-199 posts, Level 2 is from 200-299 posts, and Level 3 is from 300-399 posts. Some people will have a version or piece of their semblance at level 0, but it will be weaker at level 3 than other people will not actually achieve their semblance until level 1. You get to decide when you achieve it, and how it scales. Generally speaking you want your semblance to scale fairly evenly over the 4 levels, or the top 3 levels. Now some people have a very simple semblance. Like Ruby has super speed. Since her semblance isn't very complex she gets it from the get go. Level 1. Whereas a glyph ability like Weiss would need to scale. In this RP her epic summons would have to start at level 2 at earliest. Most likely your profile will be over powered and we will nerf it to fit within the guild. Expect nerfs and controls. We rarely if ever approve profiles without some changes.
5 ▬ Do not try and sneak things into your profile with white text. Powers and talents in your bios also will not count. Even if you do get something sneaked through don't think it will be allowed as it violates the good faith clause.
*A notice for backstories. Please review the RWBY Plot page if you have not yet read it. It will inform you on which kingdoms we have access too and how long ago they fell. This is particularly important if you want to be born in another kingdom before it fell.
Judgíng Guídєlínєs
A ▬ Members should be respectful to the judge and vice versa. If either side is disrespectful they should expect repercussions. Please report any violations to the Capt'n directly (Dirscord or Gaia both work).
B ▬ When a judge outright denies something in your profile they ought to give either an explanation as to why it was denied, or propose an alternative that would make it approval worthy. You, the member, are responsible for holding them to this if they forget. They should be doing this in general though. Respectfully ask them for ideas on what you could do in place of what was rejected. You do not need to do this on the profile topic. You may take it to a private conversation if you wish. I want to clarify that the judge does not have the duty to create a fully functioning semblance, weapon, biography, or any component of the profile for you. Even after they reject a piece they are not responsible to fill the void. They are there to help work with you on your profile, and give you guidelines on how to get it approved, but you are the chief creator of your profile.
C ▬ Judges ought not to reject a profile in its entirety. They can only reject pieces of your profile. Each piece with an explanation as to why and a proposed alternative if any exist that they can see. Not all judges will be full of ideas and so they might not have any alternatives for you. Feel free to probe them with ideas asking which they think would be more or less likely to be approved.
D ▬ The member and judge must try and work together in good faith and kindness to make the profile approval worthy.
E ▬ Also, the profile judgements will come in two sections; Must Dos and Recommendations. Must Dos are things that you absolutely will have to edit to be approved, where recommendations will be things like asking for you to elaborate more on a certain aspect to make it more clear, but otherwise is a trivial thing like one's nature, vernacular, or something in your Likes and Dislikes sections.
F ▬ Lastly, we have developed a system for when there is a true disagreement between the judge and the member, or if things get too heated. We want you to know that we are always willing to listen to you. If you have a disagreement with a judge please send this to the Capt'n:
