Wardite flicked the dead blunt into the night, he was bored - and just as he feared, even the “good s**t” wasn’t as good as Starseeds. He had a few in his personal stash, but he was trying to save them for his and Piy’s next hookup because her stash might get raided again.

God forbid if their big stash did.

But that one was always borderline. They both were heavy users, him and Piy, so it never lasted long and needed frequent stock ups.

Emergencies his a**.

Slightly high, and bored, Ward decided he would go and raid the nearby strip, near the observatory. Most of them were government desk types. Pudgy, and out of shape.

Fun to bat around for a bit before he punched their seeds, like a cat toying with a mouse. He hopped into the alley and started to eye up a target.

Truth about work lately is it had been insane. With the eclipse going on, it was as if someone had decided to open the flood gates of interest with NASA and everything dealing with stargazing. Sadly for her, Lena had gotten pulled into being tour guide and hostess for a few events. Hurry for being voted to most attractive social person…

And thank the lord for her engagement ring. Even with Xan not there, it had paid off big time. Even when she had to smack someone over the head with it.

“Sure we can’t escort you to your car Lena? Never know what’s out there this time of night.” Mickey offered, holding the door to the garage open for her. Lena just smiled and patted him on the shoulder. “Promise Mick. I’ll be fine. I have a pretty good idea of what goes bump in the night. You know I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.”

She could see him roll his eyes as her heels clicked past him. Eyes rolling, he watched her go before slipping out and the other way to do his rounds. Garage, parking lot, back to the front lobby and into the building. They were both alone but where Lena was getting onto her phone, Mickey was clearly not giving a care or expecting anyone.
---
Two targets quickly presented themselves, but Wardite was picky - and as fun as it would be to harass the lady trying to make her way downtown - Wardite had a THING about people in authoritative uniforms.

He tracked his prey for a little bit, sticking to the shadows, hiding just out or view, before finally they were far away enough from civilization for any sorts of screams to bring anyone running at a reasonable rate. Dropping down from his perch, he slipped from shadow to shadow, before coming up behind the guard and tapping him lightly on the shoulder.

“Excuse me,” He said drolly. “But, you seem to be in a spot of trouble.”

The punch that followed wouldn’t rupture the man’s windpipe but he’d wish it had. Ward’s other hand pushed him hard against the nearby wall and he grinned. “Now then… Let’s have a bit of fun shall we? Let’s see home far I can get before you beg me to let you die…”
---
Lena had just hit the send button to her mother when the scream came.

It claim like a strike of lightening in the sky and sent just the same chill down her body. There was no mistaking that sound. Someone was facing trouble and at the pitch that came...Lena’s blood was running cold. The human part of her said run. Call the cops and run.

But there was that strange sensation in the back of her head. A feeling that said ‘no’.

“Hey mom, let me call you back.” Lena spoke into the phone and hung it up. As she slipped the phone back into her bag, her heels started moving. By the time she got out of the garage, Lena had shifted forms. Meteora was hiking up her dress and running. There was that sensation that Kai had taught her. She had been right. It was an agent.

Now it was realizing that the direction she was running in was the same Mickey had taken. It was Mickey’s route she was running behind.

It was Mickey she saw pinned against the wall by the agent she saw holding him. That cold blood warmed quickly and fear become anger.

“Back away….NOW!” Meteora hissed out.
---
Wardite had to give the man credit - he’d made it to three fingers by the time he’d actually screamed. He had been on the fourth, the man’s right index finger, when he’d heard the woman’s voice. In his… excitement… he’d not been paying attention to the auras around him, and that clean, glowing aura had crept up on him unawares. Frowning he turned his head toward the woman.

“Oh, would you look at that - it looks like angels do exist after all…” Wardite said off-handedly, before slamming the man’s head hard into the wall and letting the now very unconscious body slump to the ground. It wouldn’t do if the guy had gotten it into his head to try and double team him now that his knight in shining silk showed up.

Ward rolled his shoulders, cracking his knuckles before stretching his arms over his head. “You know - you ruined a perfectly entertaining night for me.” He said, voice put out and pouty. “I don’t suppose you’re willing to make up for it? Hmmm?”

He eyed her up and down, eyes obviously dissecting her outfit… and other things. “And I thought some of our uniforms were questionable…” He snorted dryly. “Well no matter - makes it easier I suppose.” He grinned then, and gave her a cheeky wave with one hand, the other behind his back.

“I’ll be nice - and give you a handicap. I’ll only use my left hand.”
---
“How about I play nice and just break one hand of yours.” Meteora hissed, her eyes narrowing as her hand flickered out and the silk scare appeared. It didn’t seem like much but it was silk and it could hold against alot. She had already surprised others in the past that she wasn’t afraid to fight.

Seems ‘Cosmos’ had way too much of a peaceful reputation.

“Or I can return the favor you just gave him and break just the fingers. I’m sure that will keep things interesting for you!” Snapping, Meteora released her dress and wrapped both hands around her scarf, pulling it tight.

Maybe she had been with Kai for too long but she charged forward, looking to wrap him in her ‘web’
---
Wardite - high, and cocky besides - met her charge. He set his stance wide, but at an angle, so as to minimize his profile as she charged him. True to his word - he kept his right hand behind his back, but as she got close, He pivoted hard on his feet, and snapped a hard and fast kick at her side. His left hand groping for any part of her that he could grab.

“Look at you, throwing yourself at me!” Wardite laughed. “I mean, I know I’m impressive, but you can at least control yourself a little, maybe buy me dinner first.”

He was joking of course - he didn’t need dinner at all for that.
---
The kick came hard into her ribs and Met had to catch herself from coughing. She would not give in and allow him to see her like that. What she didn’t have any control over was when he got ahold of her hair and yanked back.

“OUCH!” Met couldn’t stop that scream from coming out. She was seriously starting to debate shaving her head. “Look brat, I’d rather throw myself at a hungry tiger than you.” She snapped, using the sudden grab as a chance to shift her own stance. Oh so he was going one hand? Okay then.

She launched her elbow back towards his groin.
---
Ward was about to gloat and tug her hair more - because why not cause her more pain and discomfort - when the elbow nailed him square in the groin. His vision went red, then black, his fingers spasming as he gasped a particularly vile swear and sank to his knees, curling up to protect his sensitive areas from further attack.

He was… REALLY glad Piy wasn’t there to see him right now. He could feel his eyes tearing up and he was pretty sure he was going to vomit.
---
Kai might scold her for what she just did but she didn’t care. In a fight with the negaverse, all was fair in love and war. That meant if she had to drop him, she dropped him.

Scrambling back to her feet, Met turned and looked back at the male who had just tried to kill her friend. “Sorry. Rain check on that dinner?” She smirked, this time it was her turn to yank is hair to have him look up. Her knee sank towards his nose.

Cosmos knights being peaceful? Yea….right.
---
“B-b***h… I’ll…” There was a low crunch as knee met nose, a grunt of pain, and Wardite saw only red as the knee broke his nose. He was not aware it was broken, just aware of the intense, ungodly pain and the warm, wet blood pouring from his face.

His eyes were full of tears, and he started to madly claw at the woman, unable to see through the red haze, tears, and pain that had taken over - his reptile fight-or-flight kicking in for him to fight.

His hands were going for anything he could reach, punching, clawing, and tearing at the woman. He was going to do horrible things to her if he could turn the tide… his rage was on him, and he was all but frothing now, from the pain.
---
Feet stepped back, dancing quickly out of his way as he tried to claw for her form. Met knew the dress could be a problem so she did her best to keep distance from him. She wouldn’t say it would loud but at that moment, seeing the blood down his face and the rage in his eyes, Met had to ask herself if this is what became of man when the reverted back to the blood rage of an animal.

But that was all she could think as she pulled up her dress and whispered “I’m sorry but I really can’t have you following me.” With a swing of her leg, Met went to smash the side of his head if just enough to drop him to get out of their with her friend.
---
Fingers gripped at cloth, clawing at air and fabric - unable to get purchase as he started to rise up to his height, he saw the kick coming - but he didn’t have time to jerk away. He felt it hit and he went sprawling onto the ground - all but crumpling from the impact. His body bounced twice and he lay there for a long moment.

Everything was a blur, and red and grey and he tried to rise, but his body wasn’t sure which way was up, and his arms were shaking from what was very likely a concussion.
---

Part of Meteora wanted to call for help. That hit was hard and in all honestly, he looked like a kid. She had no pride in beating a kid into the ground like that. But the other part of her, the part that saw the man behind her, knew that this kid had given up his innocence LONG ago. No child magically starts finding pleasure in that fresh into the fray.

Met decided against calling for 911. She had a feeling the kid would kill the parematics and the entire hospital. But she was better than that wasn’t she?

A groan pulled her thoughts away from the boy and back to the man. Mikey was coming too and in a way, Met wished he had stayed out a bit longer.

“Uh…” He moaned again as Lena dove beside him.

“Shh. Stay quite. Your throat.” Lena motioned to her own neck. She had powered down as he came to, staying by his side just long enough for him to use her as a ladder to get to his feet.

It was going to be a long night at the hospital for him.
