Life was busy....and there was really no other way to describe it. Between mayoral duties and homework, Anaiise found herself pacing about just as much as the secretary did and always with a notebook and pen in hand, writing something down. Then again, the bakeneko had never been one to remain idle even as a child; she always busied herself with something, whether it was learning something new, participating as an Aether Scout or volunteering. She was used to being active and as long as she thought about it like that, it wasn't so bad...plus, she was liking her position. The people liked her and felt like they could approach her with their concerns and ideas, which was exactly what she wanted. She wasn't some sort of high-falootin', hoity-toity person now that she had a political position; she was still just Anaiise and the way she dressed was proof enough of that.
Anaiise had defaulted to her usual denim overall dress and striped shirt with a few freshly-picked lavender sprigs in her front pocket mixed with her lavender-shaped pens she always had. She had come back from school and sat down in the office for a while to get some homework done, then she knew she had a meeting with one of the locals who had an idea for the landscaping of the park. She knew he was a talented gardener and that alone was enough to make her want to hear what he had to say. She finished up a paragraph for an essay, then put the notebook and text book away; time to get down to business. Inhaling some of the lavender's sweet soothing scent, she stood and opened up the office door, looking out to see a very nervous-looking shade sitting nearby. He clearly wasn't used to the idea of meeting anyone official and was trying to make a good impression; the button-up shirt, crooked tie and matching pulled back hair for both host and tail made her smile. He looked positively uncomfortable like that.
"You must be Jarred!" Anaiise said warmly, looking at the shade before looking to his tail. "And Ren! I'm so glad to meet both of you." She offered her hand out for a firm shake and smiled even brighter. "Shall we move into the office? I'm really looking forward to hearing you out. Do you need anything? Some water or tea or juice?" Jarred looked uncomfortable already and Anaiise wanted to help make him feel a little more relaxed.
