Physical Description: Standing at 5' 8", Elyk is mostly lean with some muscle though it shouldn't surprise anyone if he starts to get a little pudgy around the belly after stuffing his face during a couple of nights of festive feasting. He has blue grey eyes and a goatee, and wears his light brown hair short, making sure that it is combed up and away from his face and forehead at all times.
Personality: To most people, Elyk comes across as a naive, earnest individual who is passionate about doing the right things and sampling all the gastronomic delicacies that the world has to offer. Although he tends to keep to himself most of the time and try to not get in another’s way, he can and will get out of his comfort zone so long as he deems it to be something that absolutely has to be done. Always with a smile on his face, he readily offers a helping hand to those in need even without them asking though he has a tendency to keep mum about his own problems.
When it comes to things that Elyk is new to or has had prior bad experiences with, he tends to get nervous and skittish as he worries incessantly about the outcome, even to the point of tripping himself up at times. It is very difficult to convince him that things may turn out differently depending on the circumstances and individuals involved - so much so that he will only be convinced after he has seen for himself that things have turned out differently on a few occasions.

History: Born to a family of blacksmiths, Elyk spent most of his childhood admiring each and every rider/dragon who visited their shop, regaled by the tales they shared of their journeys and adventures. It was shortly after his older brother became a candidate and joined their ranks as a rider that he started to seriously consider becoming a candidate himself as well. Seeing that there was no dissuading him in this, something that he had always aspired to become but never thought possible prior given their family lineage, his family decided to support him fully in his endeavours and off he went to the Candidate Barracks.

Pretty good!
Just a small note: Is it possible to give him a full name that doesn't have the apostraphe/honorific version? In Pern, only dragonriders get an honorific to signify they've Impressed a dragon. Non-riders and Hold folk would never name their child with an apostraphe.
IT's totally cool if you'd like his name elided to El'k should he Impress, but maybe throw in a few other letters which he can elide out like . . Elik or Elrek or something like that. : P So should he Impress he can become El'k.
Secondly, is it at all possible to go into a little more detail with his personality? We match our dragons based on written personality, so the more detail there, the easier we can find a match! Can you write a bit more about his insecurities and his skeptical nature?
Otherwise, he should be good to go!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this! sweatdrop I've changed his name to Elyk and elaborated some on his insecurities and skeptical side. Hope that he's good to go now and thank you so much for going over my derpy puppy's profile! whee
