This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall that glistened like tiny diamonds. Everything about the snow seemed normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange or incredibly romantic.

Michiko was at her house alone as she had been a great deal of this holiday the only bright spots had been when she was with her friends they had kept her going. Spending time with Jason going out caroling, going with Bluebell to the mall and getting roped into being a Christmas elf. Seeing the happiness her dressed like that brought the children made things feel a lot better for her, she smiled thinking of the memory.

Baking cookies with a friend from school. She needed to go out shopping for all her school friends and the friends she had made recently. That would make her feel better for sure, she didn't need the attention from her parents if they didn't want to give her the attention she needed she would have to seek it for herself. Which wouldn't be easy. She had always been shy, she found it hard to find things to say to others. She didn't like saying a lot it felt better to only say a little and watch others, people, to see what they would do.

She gathered her things and her backpack to head off to the store to get some things for her school friends and her new friends. It was then that she noticed that it was snowing. She blinked and looked at the snow and held out her gloved hand and saw that the snow looked like little gems which shouldn't be too strange since snow already looked like crystals. Still, she was filled with a sense of strange wonder looking at the gem snow. She continued on to the store watching the gem snowfall all around her. She thought she would feel sad and lonely looking at the gem snow. Oddly enough it filled her with hope and light a wonder since had misplaced getting bogged down with the way her parents treated her.

Michiko moved along slowly walking to the store bundled up tightly to keep the chill away from herself so she didn't catch cold, if you could catch a cold from gem snow. She also wondered if this was some sort of strange youma that had changed the snow. If so what were they up to and why were they changing the snow?? The aurora lights had started out pretty but were actually up to no good. Perhaps the gem snow was actually a nega trick and would sap energy from everyone in the city. She rubbed her head and sighed she really shouldn't let thoughts of youma and negas bog down her holiday. Perhaps it was just a side effect of being a scout always worrying about the safety of the city, or perhaps it was just who she was someone who let their holiday be ruined trying to figure out how to protect others in the city. Desinty City was never a quiet peaceful place anymore. She sighed and shook her head and headed off again as she watched the gem snowfall all around her.
