Quote: The power’s out! On a cold day like today this is the absolute last thing you needed. But, despite how beautiful that ice on the wires is, it does not make for a friendly day filled with warmth and electronics! But, there should be trucks coming out soon to fix the issues, how do you cope with the slowly creeping chill? Are you the type to snuggle up with someone you care about and huddle down to keep warm? Or are you the type to get the heck out until it’s warm enough to once more inhabit your dwelling? The time of year Jason tended to spend more time at his parent's house than in his own little apartment. Partly because he hated how much the heat ran up his power bill, so he could save money and hang out with his parents at the same time. The only downside was having to see Jessica more often and also Ebony was a bit of a monster in the mornings. This year though, Nischal was spending some time with them as well. He was happy with how his family was accepting him with open arms into their home, Jessica being the only rare exception.
That morning he woke up with Nischal's arms wrapped around him. He blinked the sleep away from his eyes and started to pull the blanket off. Though when the cold creeped in under it he quickly pulled it back over himself. "Oh my god, it's so cold in here." It was easy to ignore under the blankets where all their body heat was trapped. But even just uncovering his hand was chilly. What the heck, did someone turn the heat off or something? He wouldn't be surprised if Ebony did it as a joke. When he turned his head to look at his alarm clock, he noticed that they display was blank.
"Oh...the power must be out." No way did he want to leave this blankets, but he was bound to get hungry at some point and at some point they'd need to get up anyway. "Hey, Nischal~ Wake up." Jason turned around and snuggled into his boyfriend, giving him a little kiss on his lips. They were cold, after all the house was like ice without the heat running. How long had it been out for?

Nischal was more than a little thrilled to have family around him this year. It may not have been actually his, but they welcomed him all the same and smiled and laughed with him as if they had known each other forever. Well, most of them did, yet even when things felt a little awkward, Jason's ever so happy smile seemed to soothe any worry he had of feeling out of place. And that was incredibly helpful come bed time, when his shyness kicked in from sharing a bed in his parents house.
All the warmth and kisses and occasional roaming touches was more than enough to ease his mind, and sleep ultimately came easy.
So easy, in fact, that it wasn't until he felt hair tickling his nose and a soft kiss pressed to his lips that he stirred. Unlike the normal, warm kisses he was used to, they were cold, almost worryingly so, and Nischal opened his eyes with a more concerned look with a smile.
"Ah... Morning.." He whispered, voice sleepy and perhaps not fully awake. He withdrew his hands from the blanket to stroke the cheek of the man he so adored, but was met with an iciness that made him immediately pull it back. Instead he wrapped his arms around Jason and pulled him all the more closer, trying to atleast maybe share his body heat. "It's so cold! Was it this cold when we went to sleep...?"

Nischal's warm fingers brushing against his cheek left a trail or burning warmth even after he had pulled them away. He was quick to cuddle into the other man when he was pulled closer, even tugging the blanket up further around them. It would be a nice moment if he weren't distracted by how cold his ears and nose were. They could almost get sick like this.
"I think the power went out. Probably a while ago considering how cold it is in here." It wasn't the worst thing that could happen, but it was a little uncomfortable. He couldn't stand the cold, he hated it. Which was horribly ironic considering the fact he's Canadian. He shivered a little bit and glanced back over toward his clock, forgetting for a brief moment that it wasn't working.
"There's a fire place in the living room though and we probably have some wood in the shed out on the patio. How about a romantic afternoon in front of a fire?" While his morning wouldn't be filled with hot coffee, it could be filled with a couch full of cuddles in front of a warming fire. Surely someone was working on restoring the power by now.

"Ah... let me warm you up just a bit..." Rather than allow his sweet Jason to suffer from the cold, Nischal braved it for a moment, letting his hands slip from the sweet warmth of the blankets to press flat against the other's face. Gods it was cold! Without relenting though, he continued to squeeze those sweet cheek, grinning as he leaned in closer for another kiss. At least their breaths were warm.
"Mmm... That all sounds really wonderful... I'm sure your family has some stuff we can cook on the fire.. Wrap it in foil, then stick it in the coals... Atleast we'll have warm food." He couldn't help himself and pulled himself even closer to Jason, hips pressed together as he gently pressed his lips to the blond's again. "Or maybe we just shouldn't leave bed... No one would bother us now, would they?"
With how low and soft his suggestion was, Nischal surprised even himself, and the lightest of blushes appeared on his cold cheeks. "But I suppose more little touches like these..." His fingers finally returned to under the blankets and instead trailed the curve of Jason's waist. "In front of the fire could be just as well... I'll let you choose."
