The power’s out! On a cold day like today this is the absolute last thing you needed. But, despite how beautiful that ice on the wires is, it does not make for a friendly day filled with warmth and electronics! But, there should be trucks coming out soon to fix the issues, how do you cope with the slowly creeping chill? Are you the type to snuggle up with someone you care about and huddle down to keep warm? Or are you the type to get the heck out until it’s warm enough to once more inhabit your dwelling?
Cold, a bitter cold bit at Morgan's uncovered foot as she laid in bed underneath a mountain of blankets. After a moment, she shuffled the blanket to cover back up and escape the cold. Unfortunately at that point, the blanket fell from her face allowing the sharp cold to begin its attack on her. The sound of the heater was nonexistent, the only noise was her on teeth chattering as the cold was now being fully realized. Now was a terrible time to get out of bed though, as she normally slept with minimal clothing. Her purple eyes slowly opened as she internally screamed at the realization that the power was out.
Her Galileo thermometer slowly confirmed her fears that the temperature in her small studio apartment was creeping farther away from the 80 degrees that she normally kept it at in winter. Mentally preparing herself, she wrapped the innermost blanket around her like a dress so her skin would not be assaulted by the dreadful cold. She threw the rest of the blankets up and back before quickly jumping out of bed and running towards her gas generator. The wood floor was ice cold as she closed in on the generator that was just outside her door. The meter showed her that the tank had a sufficient level of gas in it. Pulling back with a forceful motion, the generator roared to life.
Rushing inside and away from the snow, Morgan plugged in the heater first and turned it on full blast. She made sure that the piles of clothes on her floor were out of fire hazard range for the monster of a heater she owned. After she made sure everything was set up, she added her router to the plug and then returned to her bed. Wrapping back up beneath the mound of blankets, she began to watch videos on her phone. It took awhile for her to decide on something to watch that wouldn't drop too much in quality due to the lack of a high speed hard line. If it wasn't such a pain she would have set up her laptop.
In the end, she loaded up her Hulu account and picked up where she had left off in X-Files. It was a show she had spent much of her high school days watching with a friend. By the end of an episode or two, it would probably be warm enough for her to escape from her blanket cocoon and work on some of her college work. Negaversing, as she called it, was definitely out of the question for today. There was no way she would be going out in the snow with so little clothing on, even if she had all that extra hair that could potentially help against it.
With a tap of her phone screen, the theme began to play, there was no need for anymore physical effort today. Now was a time for laying in bed and watching tv all day long.
