Quote: This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall that glistened like tiny diamonds. Everything about the snow seemed normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic. Winter had to be one of Lori's favorite seasons. No, she didn't particularly care for the cold. But she did enjoy the fashion and the beautiful snow falls. There was nothing like that first snow of the season, waking up to a white Christmas, or building a cute snowman. The look of the bare trees covered in white, glistening snow had to be one of her favorite things. Destiny City was never one to disappoint when it comes to beautiful snowfall either. Already this season had left the ground white on a few days.
This day was unlike any other though. She had been out shopping, or trying to anyway. Finding the perfect gift for her brother was proving rather difficult. No matter what store she walked into, nothing caught her attention for him. Maybe she should take him out with her sometime and see if he stared at anything. Then she could just go back later and pick it up. As she was making her way back toward home, cutting through the park, it started to snow.
When she looked up into the sky at the newly falling snow she noticed something odd about it. Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her, she did tend to romanticize snow maybe a bit too much. As she looked around and saw some other people who seemed fascinated with the snow as well, she realized it wasn't ust in her head. It really did sparkle like little gems falling from the sky. When she took off her glove and held out her hand, it melted quickly just like any other snow though.
It was beautiful though, so beautiful that she really needed to share this moment with someone. She grabbed out at a random stranger who happened to be walking by. He was fairly cute, why not? "Isn't this beautiful?" She slipped her hands over his and looked into his eyes with so much hope that he would agree with her.

Derrick had been trying to get back to his apartment, but it had been a bit hard considering that the street was so crowded. He wasn't sure what was up since he was just trying to get home as fast as possible, but there were a lot of people outside tonight, more than there usually was! He had just finished closing the store, and he was exhausted. He had to drive back for a 4PM-10PM shift the day after celebrating with his tiring family, and he had slept until 2PM once he had gotten home. He was just ready to go and sleep again! But there were just so many people! He grumbled under his breath, probably cursing a few times, but decided to take a look at what the people seemed to be staring at, since nobody seemed to be moving. He looked and saw... really pretty snow. Though it raised his suspicious, mostly because it looked abnormal. It could be pollution or the Negaverse, whatever it is it isn't that amazing. He thought, though he decided to snap a couple of pictures, just for keeping a record of it. He was about to turn around and head back on the sidewalk he had currently been using, when suddenly a girl slipped her hand through his, and commented on the snow. He jumped a bit, not expecting the sudden touch, and looked at her. "Uh... yeah, it is." He said, trying to get his hand back so that he could continue on his way to where he actually wanted to be. His bed. With some pajamas, and sleeping.

Lori's face lit up a smile when the cute stranger agreed with her, even if he did seem to hesitate just a bit. She supposed her question was a little bit sudden, but she really didn't see anything wrong with their interaction at all. It was fairly normally for her to interact with people she barely knew on the regular. Besides, it was a lovely evening outside, why would anyone want to spend it alone!
Maybe the hand holding had gone just a little too far, she could admit that. So she gave his hand a little squeeze before letting it go. She laced her fingers together and held them up to her face, blowing warm air on them for a second. It really was chilly outside, but why would she want to go inside?
"Would you like to join be on a bench somewhere? It's just so pretty outside and it would be a shame to spend it alone." She tried to use her puppy eyes again, all to accustom to them winning over everyone.
"Also, I'm Lori. I apologize for not introducing myself before. I got caught up in the moment and all..." Just a little bit of a pout, enough to maybe pull a little bit of pity out of him.

Derrick mentally let out a sigh of relief as the girl finally let go of his hand. He couldn't quite understand people who were so touchy-feely with random strangers. It seemed however that he hadn't quite gotten rid of her yet, as she suggested that they could go and find a bench and her name was Lori. He tried not to make a face. "Uh..." Was there a reason he was trying to be polite? Being rude would probably get him home faster. Maybe he was just trying to avoid a scene? He certainly didn't want the girl crying and everyone sending glares at him. "I already have a girlfriend so..." Hopefully she would get the hint. If she didn't then he would have to try something else. It was at least partially true, but he wasn't going to share a probably snow-covered bench with someone else, especially since he was just trying to get home to go to bed and get some rest. He paused and considered responding to her introduction. Surely if she knew his name she would bother him more, but if she could just recognize what he looked like, she could still bother him... Nothing more than the name. He thought. He certainly wouldn't be giving her his phone number! "I'm Derrick. I actually just got off work and would really like to get home..." He said, taking a step back and trying to get back on track.

Lori crossed her arms and really gave the man a good once over for the first time since grabbing his attention. He claimed to have a girlfriend already, but that seemed a little fishy to her. Though, love came in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Perhapes by 'girlfriend' he actually meant, 'someone I'm into'. In which case, that she could totally understand. If she had a love interest, she wouldn't exactly want to go around flirting it up with some random person either. Although, that could also be some good practice for the real thing.
"Alright, I'll buy the girlfriend story for now." She sighed and her shoulder's dropped. If she called Landry there was a good chance he would meet her somewhere to play out in this lovely snow. It wasn't exactly a moment she wanted to share with her twin, but it would be better than no one at all.
"Get home safely Derrick and make sure your girlfriend saw this lovely snow as well. That way you can at least be all 'We were looking at the same snow together at the same time!' Ah, how romantic!" She was being dramatic, when wasn't she. She picked up a handful of the snow that had fallen down and threw it into the air around them before dashing off.
"Thanks for that fleeting moment, stranger~"

Buy the girlfriend story? He thought, almost giving her an incredulous look. But through many years of training, he instead just grimaced at her. Luckily though, she seemed to be leaving him alone for right now, but he would have to be extra careful on his walk home from now on. "Uh right. Bye Lori." And before he could even begin walking away himself, it seemed that she had thrown some snow in the air and run off, leaving him extremely confused, and making him wonder if he should go and get some coffee or something, just to make sure he was awake and that girl was a real person. He shook his head, and continued on his way. Leopleuradon Yay! Thanks so much for the rp!
