Itsuki was running late and that was not like her furry child- er charge, she corrected herself mentally as she moved her way through the city in search of the guardian cat. They were supposed to spend the night together tonight and most of the next day before he went back to Zachary's house but he wasn't waiting for her at home when she got back from work according to her parents. And when he hadn't down by the time the sun started to set she was worried. Dressed in not the best clothing for the cold weather, a long skirt she usually wore around the house, her jacket and some boots, the blonde hurried about in search of the guardian cat. He had to be okay, right? Surely he'd just gotten distracted by something (like the odd aurora in the sky) and lost track of time? Anxiety grew in the pit of her stomach the longer it took to find him and Melody debated finding a spot to henshin up and let Lacrimosa's boosts aid in the search. If it took any longer to find him she just might. Lucifer Force not sold on the title neutral lol

Itsuki was wedged in the trash can, thankfully not bleeding but he certainly won't be walking properly for a little while. Over the course of a few hours post-roof-punting, the lilac point had managed to peek his head over the heaps of trash. His mental radar hadn't picked up anyone on either side of the war since he'd started his slow ascent to fresh air. Was that good, or bad? Itsuki wasn't sure, but boy did he hurt everywhere (especially the fluffy rear). A hard lesson learned. He couldn't quite pull himself over the lip of the garbage can, but he could hear people wandering around outside the alley where he landed. Maybe they could take him to a vet? Was he bleeding? Itsuki didn't think so, but he didn't quite trust his hungry and exhausted state. Pitifully, the Guardian Cat had to do the only thing he could think of: calling for help. ".....mew....... meeeew...."

Having ducked down into an alley to hopefully henshin up, she paused at the sound of mewing. Familiar mewing at that. Oh please let a small miracle have happened. Tucking her pen away, Melody moved for the trash can and peered inside. There, looking pitiful and not so great, was the very cat she'd been looking for. She could have cried as she murmured his name in relief, ungloved hands moving to scoop the cat up from the trash and pull him close. "I'm so glad I found you. I was worried when you weren't at home when I got off, are you okay? What happened? What do you need?" Her words may have just rushed out of her mouth as she tried to look him over without moving him too much.

"....uh... Melody-san... itaiiii..." Itsuki looked worse for the wear, having been trapped in the garbage can for at least six hours. His fur was dirty and dingy, his stomach was empty and growling, and his backside hurt like nothing he could describe. More than anything, Itsuki was thankful to be alive. "It was a General, Melody-san," came a pitiful reply, the Mauvian curling into Melody for warmth and comfort. The can was terribly cold with winter being in full force. "She was right on top of me. I should have been paying more attention... she kicked me and I flew off the roof, and landed in the trash can... I couldn't get out, it hurt so badly..." And it still did, Itsuki wincing with any movement of his hindquarters. "I don't know who she was, but I'm glad she left me alone after I fell..." Negaverse Generals were not to be trifled with, especially if one was a Mau with nothing but a small laser to defend themselves with. "Melody-san... I'm not bleeding, am I?"

Perhaps she'd been around him enough to pick up some of the words he used, or maybe she'd just understood the sentiment, but the moment he muttered "itai" her mind had already translated it to pain and she decided that staying there in the alley wasn't the best idea. Not to mention the cold wasn't going to be good for either of them, even if he did have a fur coat. "Don't worry, Itsuki. I'll get us home and get you taken care of." A soft murmur, though loud enough for him to hear, Melody glanced out at the streets then opted to take a bit of the backroads just to give them a little bit of communication time. Especially as he started to piece in some of the information to her. "I'm glad she did too, to be honest. She could have really hurt you." Cautious and careful as she walked, brown eyes glanced him over briefly but not without care. "And no, there doesn't seem to be any bleeding at all but I don't doubt your rear is bruised. Once I can get you home and in a bath I'll know for sure though." A nice warm bath for the injured kitty, probably bandaging on his leg(s) if he couldn't keep from moving them too much. She'd probably feed him up in her room too, couldn't have him moving around too much. "What had you so distracted that you didn't notice a general anyway?" No judgement or anger, just curiosity.

Itsuki was thanking his lucky stars that Melody could find it, for it might have been another six-to-eight hours before he could pull himself out of the trash can and limp to Melody's home. Laying against Melody's chest, the Mau could hear her heart beating and feel the warmth of her skin. "Arigato gozaimasu, Melody-san. I'm glad she didn't come after me but if I see her again, I'll try to keep you safe. She's very mean! Long blue hair, pointy-toed shoes..." Itsuki winced at the recent memory of coming into contact with those metal-toed boots of hers. Ouch. He wasn't sure if most Maus disliked water the way Earth cats did, but at this point, any relief was welcome. Itsuki hadn't had a real bath that he could remember, so this would be an unusual experience for him. With a sigh, the little Mau snuggled into Melody's coat. Her question reminded him of the distraction. Pointing a paw into the air, Itsuki gestured to the shimmering colors of the aurora overhead. "Up there, Melody-san. I was wondering, what is that? I don't think it's natural, but I'm not sure. I've never seen anything like it, and I was going to go to Headquarters to find out about it... It's so pretty, and then... I got distracted and forgot to listen, and... got the boot."

"You worry more about yourself, little cat," the blonde soothed, keeping the injured cat held close. Even with his fur it had to have been so very cold ontop of his injury. "General or no, you're already injured so protecting you would be top priority. It's not the other way around." If only she'd known to look for him sooner... As his paw pointed upwards Melody looked upwards. Oh yes, the odd aurora that had popped up earlier in the day. Dongmei had tried to get her out to look at it but she'd needed to clean the bath while no one was in there. "I really don't think it's natural at all. We don't live in a place where we should be able to see auroras. I can see why you got distracted though, it's very pretty." If she wasn't careful she was going to get distracted too.

“It’s a bad sign, Melody-san…” The cat winced, trying to settle himself in the blonde’s arms. Moving anything in his hindquarters was incredibly painful, but he was incredibly grateful that Melody was able to find him in time. With how sharply the temperatures were dropping, it might have been dangerous to be left outdoors for too much longer. With a huff, Itsuki gave up on comfort with his throbbing rear end and curled in on himself to try and keep warm. “Melody-san, I’m sorry for making you worry. This is a painful lesson…” His tail flopped over Melody’s arm as she walked. “I should be more careful… Even though we Maus have a smaller signature, those Negaverse Agents don’t seem very nice!” Maybe he shouldn’t go out anymore without a senshi escort? “Melody-san, I’m very cold…” Then came the fussing and whining. As much as he was self-aware and intelligent, Itsuki could be so very whiny when hungry or in pain. Melody was likely used to it by now, but there was something more pathetic than usual about the cat’s whines tonight. “Are we close to home?”

"It's certainly not good, what ever it is," she replied in agreement, turning to glance back down at the injured cat in her arms. Watching him curl up for warmth, which she didn't blame him for, she frowned just slightly and shifted to see if she couldn't tuck him in some to her jacket. "I'm sure there are some agents who are, but many of them are not, no. But knowing you, I'm sure you'll learn well from this." A kiss to the top of his head. "Just have to learn to be more aware of your surroundings. Maybe we'll see, once you're no longer injured, about trying to set up some sort of training to help you with that." She paid no mind to his apologies, he didn't have anything to apologize for. It was an accident and yes she may have worried but in the end everything was okay and that was all she could ask for. Though once she told Zach he might not be so easily off the hook. Trying to settle him as carefully as possible in her jacket as he started to whine, a sign she took that he was going to be just fine, she smiled some and zipped her jacket back up just a bit. "Don't worry, Itsuki. We'll be home soon~"
