At long last, your Holiday shopping is complete! Every last person is checked off the list, and you have time to spare. Maybe you deserve something a little extra special, too? Or is there someone you suddenly remembered? Are you just imagining that you’re done? What if you actually haven’t gotten everything finished? This time of year is always so stressful—how are you handling shopping at all?
The mall was busy, like every year, and Yolanda Hydrus was finally away from her father, step mother, and sisters to shop, and shop she did-- for her uncle, cousin, his new wife, her father, step mother, sisters, and some friends. Some looking at her bag would find an exclectic gathering of gifts -- hunting knives and a shiny new display sword, a lovely new dresws, a stuffed bat, a game -- even a blank book. So many items, all carefully chosen, and with occasional additions. A sharpening kit or five, some tools and a quill and ink set, and more. Her family was well covered and Yolie was considering a treat for herself.Maybe chocolate? Chocolate was always good, and the blonde began making for the food court in thought before uit caught her eye.
The stand was a small cart, not at all fancy or showy. Some items gluimmered and shone; some were plain and simple, but one? One drew Yolie';s eye and called her to look more thuroughly.
Several of the hair clips were sparkly now that Yolie was close. So many rhinestones.... It sort of felt like a gaudy Nashville Tourist Trap souvenir store, and Yolie made a face, fishing out some cash and counting it. How was something so trashy so expensive? She thought she'd seen-- And then she found it. A sunflower seemed to glow in the middle of glitter, bling, and shine; a large, but simple fake sunflower of soft fabrics that looked absolutely real. Real enough, Yolie considered, to help Laodica feel better about Zombies, because try as Dubhe might, she had no heart to tell Laodica Zombies weren't real. And so reasonable! She half wondered if it was a danger, but nope. The corrupt wasn't getting something so unique she'd stand out as a civilian, and so Yolie planted her money down to buy it.
Yolie was thinking over the ways to wrap it as the cashier worked to ring it up. It needed to be briught and cheerful, maybe pink? Maybe red with little bells in the ribbon? Yes! Ribbon bells were good, as were curly, curly ribbons, Those were cute-- and momentarily, she was distracted by the clerk placing it in a bag. Nope. NOPE.
"Uhm." yolie spoke up. "Can I possibly get it in a box?"
The clerk blinked, then got it, beaming and bringing out a small box that he gently places tissue paper in before gently placing the sunflower clip in, closing it gently, as Yolie beamed. Such a perfect little box! Getting THIS wrapped would be incredibly easy, and Yolie hummed in excitement, moving to take the item in hand. Such a pefect box to wrap, and Yolie knew more than ever she was going to put bells and ribbon on it -- then add a card..... Which... Well, no, she'd buy one, nobody wanted her drawing, but the game store might have the perfect card? Sigh. Still so much to do, but Yolie ground her heels in. She was doing it. She was going to do the thing if it killed her, and the young woman hummed. Plans were brewing in her mind already, and she hummed. It was going to be pretty -- the prettiest pre3sent Yolie could make for Laodica,m so Laodica had a smile when she saw her new sunflower. Maybe the corrupt would feel safer and maybe it would help somehow. After all, there was all kinds of weird magic.
Anything was possible.
